00:58I'm so excited to see you guys, oh my gosh. Different faces, not the same people that you've
01:03been stuck with on the island and now stuck with in Jury Villa. How's it all going out there on
01:07the
01:08outside world? The outside, the real world, it's so weird like integrating back into, as you guys would
01:14know when you're like out in the wilderness it's like it feels like a whole different universe
01:20and then you just get plonked back into the real one and you've got to like try and figure things
01:25out and get used to it again. It's been kind of weird but also really nice having like a bed
01:31and a shower and food. Oh absolutely, that first night on the bed, some people are like oh my
01:37good I couldn't sleep in like a soft bed. I'm like brother, I was out cold that first night. I'm

01:43oh my god I'm living in luxury, a pillow? What? Literally vibes. I spent my first night in
01:50Jury Villa hugging the toilet and sleeping on the toilet floor because I overindulged so I hope you
01:55haven't been doing that. You ate too much chocolate. No I wasn't riding the porcelain bus like you Nick,
02:01don't worry brother. But Brooke was like on the, when we were in there in the jungle Brooke was like
02:06yeah I slept on the floor for a bit, it's pretty normal for some people and I'm same as you

02:10I was like brother let me sleep on the cloud, I'm knocked out and I was sleeping like a damn
02:14run.
02:14I was sleeping like a baby. You don't have that half million dollars in the bank but you got a

02:17soft pillow so there's a little win in that. Exactly and I've got a pillow that I can cry
02:23myself to sleep in but that's okay, that's fine, silver lining. Speaking of the game, how much did
02:29you actually know about Survivor before you went into it because you seem like someone who was like
02:33learning it on the fly, is that true? Yeah so Nick, Devo, as I refer to myself, Devo is not
02:39the most
02:40Survivor savvy person. I love the show, I hadn't watched a whole heap of it leading into it. I've
02:47watched like random seasons, like Sean I watched you, your queen and like random ones like that but
02:52yeah leading into it I was like you know what I'm just going to take my personality into it, learn
02:56from
02:57the people around me and just see what I can come up with and it was so sick. I loved
03:02the journey of
03:02like looking at where I started on day one and first tribal like literally looking like a lost
03:09child in Coles or something like I just did not know what was going on and then like ending up
03:15where I was with the whole Mark situation like I thought it was it was such a cool progression into
03:20like learning on the go and trying to implement new things that I'm learning into my game. Quick study.
03:25I had so much fun. Was there, who was the person that you learnt the most from because you obviously
03:29were learning on the fly so you went from kind of you know in the beginning observing to then doing
03:36a
03:36live tribal council orchestrating a blindside against Blanche so who was like the most influential
03:42for your learning or were you just taking little tiny bits from everyone? Yeah I was like I was at
03:48a buffet and I was going I have a little bit of debt, a little bit of debt, a little
03:52bit of debt. I
03:52was just like taking bits and pieces from everyone and like trying to mix it in with my own personality
03:58and and you like make my own game so I'd have to say a bit of everyone Sean like it
04:03was because
04:03everyone played so different you know like like Brooke was such a challenge beast and was all about
04:10connections and relationships and Mark was all about connecting to people and having them set and
04:14ready to use as pawns on a chessboard and like it was just yeah everyone was playing their own game
04:21so
04:22I had to sort of look at the parts that best suited me and tried to work them into my
04:26own game.
04:26Excellent suit it's like oh I'm at the buffet and for dessert we're having Blanche everyone.
04:33Yeah literally I was like at the end there I think the power got to my head a little bit

04:38like oh this feels good and so I was like kind of loving like telling people where to vote and
04:43stuff
04:43and I'm like yeah you can do debt you can do debt and then Davo got booted. But that's classic
04:49buffet
04:49right you you overindulged you ate too much your plate got too big and then and we end up hugging
04:55the
04:55toilet. Right in that porcelain. The porcelain bus yeah. Yeah you and me Nick we're there together
05:00brother don't worry. So let's go to that tribal council where you went home so like a three three
05:06three split. We're tied again three votes Brooke three votes Ben two votes Keeley one vote left.
05:14That's very dicey. Who do you think flipped or do you know? Jackson was the one who flipped.
05:22I can understand it like from a friend point of view I had to pull the sword out of my
05:27back
05:28and that's okay I just cried myself to sleep that night but um we I thought about it and I'm
05:33like
05:33this dude made like the best decision for his game and I kind of had the the concept of being
05:41loyal to
05:42my alliance and being someone that they can rely on throughout the whole game and not just up until
05:46the end um so I was ready to go to the end with Jackson I would never have written his
05:51name down
05:51but for him and his game and how what he did I can respect the move that he did and
05:55it's it's got him
05:57into a really good position now he's got you know some some good moves under his name and and he's
06:02looking
06:02in a really good spot to um to get right to the end so um it was a shock when
06:07it happened I was like
06:08oh damn I was like I did not think that was but um but yeah I straight away had like
06:14nothing but love
06:15for everyone because they're all such beautiful people they had such amazing stories what a big
06:19person yeah I would be like I understand it as part of the game but not as my friend but
06:25I hate you yeah
06:27I'll be remembering that one screw you all I'm going home that's right this is a safe space Ben
06:32you can kind of say whatever you need to say so if Jackson made it to the final that's such
06:36a good
06:37question I was about to say the same thing you wouldn't hold any sort of grudge against him
06:41no bitterness you would literally be like all good yeah it was really weird like when I stood up and
06:47when I said what I said before um I got snuffed I really meant it before I go gang been
06:53an absolute
06:54pleasure getting to know you all you're all beautiful people you're already redeemed in my eyes
07:01then the tribe has spoken
07:05like everyone there had these beautiful stories of redemption and like I said so many times in tribal
07:10council like a story of redemption involves resilience getting knocked down again and again
07:14getting back up and a lot of the values and underlying sort of you know morals that we had as
07:20as individuals really overlapped which meant that we felt really connected to each other really quickly
07:27so yeah they're all such beautiful people that I couldn't hold anything against them for voting for
07:31me or anything and yeah I had such a great time with them and then yeah if Jackson was sitting
07:35at the end
07:35too um if my boy was sitting there and he had to pitch his uh resume at me I'd be
07:42um I'd be all ears and
07:44I've already said before that man is a poet he can paint a picture with his words so yeah if
07:50he gets
07:51there I'd be very very worried if I was the other person because he can uh he can talk like
07:55a poet
07:55Jackson was one of your allies and he betrayed you Johnson was one of your allies and he betrayed you
08:00are you just done with people whose name ends in song like Emerson Addison if you meet these people in
08:06real life is it just going to be like trigger warning they're making you a coffee and you're like wait

08:16and they're like what the hell and I'm like please please I'm off people that are on I have trust

09:22you at home talk me through it my beautiful wife Ruby would tell you I wake up looking like a

09:28chicken like my hair is crazy at home and for some reason out in the jungle on national television my

09:35decided to say okay we're gonna wake up looking pristine every morning and I was like okay if
09:40there's ever a time to look pristine I mean the hair has definitely got their timing on point your hair
09:46felt sorry for you because of the jokes so they were like let's give him this let's over perform
09:50right now I'm down with that I've been wondering are you getting coconut oil rubbing it in but it's just
09:57the salt water it's just the salt water and we actually did we did it uh like little coconut spa
10:03where we got like the the coconuts that are a bit older and they've got that oil in it so

10:07in our on our face and in our hair oh you're talking to the right girl it works it does

10:13your vibing Sean did you do the same thing did you use it for that as well and for lip
10:17balm as well
10:18and it's like what what I mean by lip balm is that little bit of like 35 day old coconut

10:24with my dirty fingernail and then be like feeling fresh ready to dominate how funny is it yeah
10:32feeling great um how funny is it we sit there in the moment and we're like this is like luxury

10:48weren't we yeah Ben let me tell you about a time in all stars we had won a coffee reward

10:53had drink drank the coffee and then we were standing there we realized if we get the the
10:59coffee scrapings from people's cups we can exfoliate with them so we're digging into the like the half
11:04drank disgusting slop backwash rubbing it on our faces like and we thought we were like we were that
11:11was an innovation that's not rock bottom you grabbed a shovel and kept digging to go lower that is
11:16phenomenal and i respect the absolute hell out of that game respects game baby exactly do you have
11:24any predictions for the upcoming final predictions i would love this is a bit biased but i would love
11:32to see jackson go all the way i think i thought you're gonna stop it go and i was like
11:36oh yeah the
11:37vengeance is coming out now he wants to see you go get jackson out of there turn that man off
11:44no um
11:45he he's played such a good game and he's developed so much like i feel like me and him really
11:50grew in
11:50the same sort of path in regards to starting not knowing our lefts from our rights and then ending up
11:56having some moves under our belts and and having done some things that was starting to create some
12:02attention and um brooke i mean brooke and keely deserve to be up there you know they're both queens and
12:08keely scares the living out of me um she her stare like when she's talking to you it's like you're
12:15getting hypnotized and it's so intimidating and so how she's maneuvered her way through mark and and
12:22all the other players that she's been around is no surprise um and then brooke the challenge beast
12:27the cockroach who just everyone wants her gone but she just hangs around and gets it done um she has
12:34been
12:34standing on business and she is an absolute queen who deserves to go all the way as well so
12:39i think one of those three um well those three will make the top two but we'll just have to
12:44see
12:46which two it is love your insight interesting we've got some games that we want to play but before we
12:51get to that um yes i love games australian survivor has always had a really strong representation of
12:57indigenous australian players and we're talking kirby teagan aisha there's a huge group that you're
13:04now part of how do you feel about being part of that alumni and what does it mean to you
13:07dude i feel
13:09i feel so so humble and grateful for the opportunity to be to be you know accepted onto this game
13:16and and
13:17to represent my people would represent torres australian the people in this game like like i'm a proud
13:23torres islander like my name is benjamin nabia davis i'm a proud side by and way ben islander
13:28from the torres strait and i never ever thought i would be here on this game on this show representing
13:35my people like there was a time when i didn't even want to connect with my culture because my
13:39relationship with my dad was so bad that if i connected to my culture i was kind of like well
13:44i'm connecting to my dad and then um you know i learned being around some really good role models
13:49that you know it's i need to be a strong proud indigenous man because it's the oldest living
13:54culture in the world and i need to be proud of it and like if you told me back then
14:00that once i
14:00started that journey of being confident and strong and proud in who i am that i'd be here being a
14:06role
14:06model for other torres strait islander people or other indigenous people i would have laughed in your
14:10face but davos here you're still laughing in our face but for a different reason yeah but for a different
14:16reason yeah different reason because i have ptsd from people with on in their name um hang on sean
14:22okay we'll talk about that oh crap yeah okay yeah we didn't even realize that yeah we can talk about
14:26that later but yeah i um i just love being in a position where i've i've gone through so much
14:32adversity and i've come out the other side really blessed with my support around me that's turned me
14:36into the man i am and i can now give that back to young indigenous people that you know might
14:41have
14:41been in my position who were when i was younger looking up to indigenous role models that they needed and
14:46you know i didn't have that in my dad i needed a role model and he wasn't that and now
14:49i've become
14:50someone that you know other young indigenous people can look up to so it's hectic and i feel really
14:55grateful that i'm in that alumni yeah i love that you should be so proud and definitely i just have
15:00one last question obviously the theme of this season is about redemption so although you didn't get
15:06that half a million dollars do you still feel like you got some redemption throughout this game
15:11yes 100 sean i you know it's funny i had a realization late in the game where um in one
15:19of
15:19my long walks uh i you know my whole game with the redemption was about proving people in the afl
15:27world
15:27wrong about you know my what i can achieve and how much i'm worth and all that stuff and and
15:32i i actually
15:33realized towards the end it was never about that it was about redemption and proving to myself that i'm worth
15:40enough like that to respect myself because i love that so good yeah i i was so cool i i
15:46got a bit
15:47teary when i was talking about it and now because i had that realization moment and i was like my
15:51whole
15:52life i've been the hardest on myself my inner critic has just constantly put me down and and and said
15:59the worst things about me when i'm actually a really good guy and i could never shake that because
16:03i thought what happened to me when i was younger was something that i deserved even though
16:07i didn't deserve it and so yeah i've always been my biggest inner critic and then to realize that
16:13i'm actually proving to myself that i'm strong enough that i'm worth enough and that i should be
16:18proud of who i am um it was really beautiful and it actually yeah when i stood up and walked
16:23out i was
16:23like i'm proud of the game i played i'm proud of how i treated other people and yeah i was
16:29just stoked so
16:30so good that's so good the theme of redemption was sick i loved it and as an adelaide crows fan
16:36i love that you were here oh you are an adelaide crows fan love you nick so we are going
16:41to play
16:42interrogation which is a game where i'm going to ask you some very quick five spicy questions you're
16:49going to give me some quick answers but nick has a little something for you now because the questions
16:54are so spicy that's not an idol this is an idol because the questions are pretty spicy if there
17:00is a question you don't want to answer you can get immunity from that question but if you use immunity
17:06okay you then have to answer every question after that so be careful okay okay because they're pretty
17:13spicy use it smart hit me with the interrogation who wasted a great opportunity who wasted a great
17:18opportunity um mark how so to get rid of me the first time i tried to get rid of him
