06:54meetings here were a lot of the football world is he had some comments about parting ways with
07:00gerard johnson and ultimately he got here clint and he said looking at everything this is from
07:08domico ryan's head coach looking at everything where we were the past three years sometimes a change of
07:15scenery change of voice how can we help cj be his best maybe changing of the voice who is giving

07:24the information from my perspective a lot of tough decisions put us the texans in the best position
07:31possible he also said he still thinks gerard is a great coach thinks he'll do a great job in philadelphia
07:36and that he didn't do anything wrong just citing the thought there may be a change of voice uh change
07:43of scenery a new person giving the information you're when you hear that understanding the quarterback
07:48position the way you do and and and understanding the change that they made at the coaching staff
07:54your thoughts when you hear domico saying that uh in regards to gerard johnson the coaching staff
08:00and and the quarterback well i've got i got questions um you know at one at some point we've got

08:09back at cj it's been bobby slowick who would who they didn't talk to for three weeks and now it's
08:15now it's gerard johnson who it's just time for a new voice um you know at some point the
08:23the the bucks got to fall with cj strout i think first and foremost but uh as i said before

08:30when bobby slowick got fired i think that domico ryan's handed the reins over to to to to nick casario
08:36i think nick casario is calling the shots and it just took him a little longer to get uh gerard

08:55brought over in the nick cayley hire is now gerard johnson's replacement um uh i i think that's i think
09:02it's odd the way that i think that building on the offensive side of the football is is ran in

09:08odd fashion like i i think i think when you've got you've got an offensive coordinator in bobby slowick
09:17and and you have built this thing as a um you know no one guy is making all the decisions

09:27this is you know a collective collaborative effort right um but yet when it goes south
09:33nobody talks to bobby for a month and bobby gets axed right and then all of a sudden it's collective
09:39and it's it's a a uh again collaborative effort but in order to put cj in a better position we

09:48to get rid of the guy that was billed to know him since he was 16 years old and be

09:53guru that played the position at a high level and what we're going to do is we're going to replace

09:57with the guy that was actually brought in a year ago and has been looking over his shoulder
10:01for a year like i i find it very interesting how they handle business on the offensive side of the
10:07football but it doesn't shock me one bit because i think nick casario is running the ship i will say
10:14from the comments i do like the thought of how can we help cj to be his best now how

10:23that was a driving thought in the well in the in the off season of how they're handling things
10:30regardless of if we agree with how they have said we're going to help cj it's just slimy it's just
10:36like it's it's not about it's just slimy it's just i mean there's there's always multiple people in
10:41the building from a consulting standpoint that seem to be waiting in the wings to take somebody's spot
10:48um and and it they don't ever catch any of the blame when it's bad but yet they're waiting in

10:53wings and they somehow stick around because they know the system or or they got a tie with with nick
10:58casario i don't know i just like it's interesting is like they didn't do it sheplinsky was here last
11:03year yeah i'm pretty sure sheplinsky was on the sideline talking to cj there's video footage of
11:08so what what what what you did it's not what you did was you felt like i mean you can

11:14you want to but what you felt like was removing gerard johnson from the equation made this made may
11:21is going to make cj better but do you do you think from your experience like there was a thing

11:27he's been here from the beginning they have a certain relationship he's he expressed that too
11:32they've got a good relationship all the way back to high school do you did you feel like there was
11:37something that was needed to to remove like a change of voice a change of who the information is coming
11:43from did you do you feel like that is something that potentially could be helpful in the in this
11:49situation with cj get back to his best more than just more than just the kick absolutely absolutely
11:56look i mean i think there's there's a really good chance that the relationship that was billed and
12:02sold to us as being such a integral part of of gerard johnson and cj stroud and and that whole
12:09quarterback dynamic in in the room was a positive from jump but there's a chance that there's cj feels
12:15too comfortable in that room with that quarterback coach yeah there's a chance that hey man it was
12:21bob kind of think that's what he was saying yeah yeah you you gotta here's the truth of the matter

12:26you've had a cj stroud guy in your quarterback room as a quarterback coach for the last three years
12:32there's a there's a i mean it's only human nature to say and do things in that quarterback room
12:37that that maybe you wouldn't do and say if bobby sloak was coaching that that position in that room
12:42every day right same thing when nick cayley comes in there's it's it's there's do you have a cj
12:49stroud guy in that quarterback room or do you have a nick cayley guy in that quarterback room
12:54and i think that there's a really good chance that that relationship actually turned into a negative in
12:59a sense of is there total buy-in from everybody around cj stroud in this particular system and if
13:07there's anybody that's pulling the the rope the other direction or drilling holes in the bottom of the
13:11boat kind of deal instead of rowing then you got to get him up out of here and and so
13:15i i don't know
13:16it's just interesting to me that that you know sheplinsky's kind of been waiting in the wings for
13:22a year to take this job yeah i did to me they to me it felt like kind of and
13:28and he may not have
13:29meant that with these comments but to get to cj at his best like and i think a lot of
13:35fans here will
13:37like this like it feels like we got to get we got to get people in here that's maybe more
13:43of a tougher
13:44love situation more of a could be more of a situation where you know let's take it to another level
13:51right let's not let's not also have as much like buddies yeah and friends now that now that like that
13:59when i read when i read maybe a change of voice and a change of voice changing the voice of

14:06giving him the information we had to make tough decisions like i i that's almost how i'm reading
14:12this could be wrong it's just the opinion that i formed off of the comments he made of we want

15:37he brought over was the guy that's gonna be the quarterback that's the only coach that came with
