00:00Hello everyone, it's good to be here with you all today. My name is William Chambers
00:04and today we're going to look into the Word of God and we're going to look at yet faith.
00:09Oh, I hope everybody has some yet faith. When nothing works but God is still enough. That's
00:16what we're going to talk about today. And what I mean by yet faith is even when things do not
00:22turn out like we hoped, our heart is still whole. Even though things don't turn out like
00:29we want them to, we are still rooted in God, which is the foundation of our joy. That's what
00:37Habakkuk is talking about here right now. We're going to look at the text. Although the fig tree
00:42shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vine. The labor of the olive shall fail. The
00:48fields shall yield no meat. The flock shall be cut off from the fold and there shall be no herds
00:54in
00:54the stall. Yet I will rejoice in the Lord. I will joy in the God of my salvation. Habakkuk right
01:03here
01:03is talking about devastation. Oh, every external support is being removed. Emotional support,
01:12economic support, communal support is stripped away from the prophet. But he's saying, I'm still
01:18gonna trust in God because God remains. Not because my situation improved, but because God remained
01:26and God is enough. Yet faith, even though everything's going wrong in my life, even though hell is breaking
01:32loose in my life, yet I trust in God. Yet faith. So this prophet is naming a few things. He
01:42said,
01:42although the fig tree shall not blossom, meaning trees take a long time to grow. Sometimes we put a
01:50lot, we put hope into something for a long time and it still doesn't blossom. We're talking about
01:56disappointment and discouragement right here. I put a whole lot of time in that tree and it did not
02:01blossom. Neither shall fruit be in the vine. No fruit at all. Oh, I put a lot of effort in
02:07the vine
02:08tree and there was no fruit that came from it. There was no positive outcome, no results, no visible
02:16success. Have you ever put a lot of time into something and had no visible success? Oh goodness.
02:24He goes on talking about the labor of the olives shall fail. Meaning you're putting labor in the olive
02:31tree and it still fails. This is painful. All this effort and it's still failing. The field shall
02:39have no meat, no meat whatsoever. Oh, no substance. The flock shall be cut off from the foe and there
02:47shall be no herd in the stall. No herd. That means there's no flocks at all. And flocks are supposed
02:54to
02:54multiply and be passed down from generation to generation. So the future is looking not so great.
03:01We're talking about utter devastation here. One thing upon another thing. Have you had one thing
03:07happen after another thing happened after another thing happened? Devastation after devastation.
03:12This right here threatened the survival of a backhook. Have you ever had your survival threatened?
03:20Hmm. Praise be unto God. Habakkuk right here is talking about his survival being threatened,
03:28but he still has yet faith. The Bible says this. It says, yet I will rejoice in the Lord. I
03:38will joy
03:39in the God of my salvation. Habakkuk is not in denial. He's not pretending like everything's okay,
03:45but he still has defiant joy. Joy that shifts from what God can give me and shifts towards who God
03:56is.
03:57I still have God. Lord, help us today. Do you have yet faith? It ain't going right yet. God is
04:08still
04:08good. It ain't going right yet. God is still enough. Do you have yet faith? Do you have faith
04:15when your prayers seem to go unanswered? Do you still have joy when you're not being restored?
04:25God, help us. Do you still believe in God when your obedience don't seem to be paying off
04:31immediately? Help us today, God. Are you experiencing loss in your life and not walking away from God?
04:39A whole bunch of people walk away from God when they experience loss, but still trusting God. Lord,
04:44I'm losing all kind of stuff, but I'm still okay. Hallelujah. We're talking about yet faith.
04:51Oh, things ain't going right in my life yet. I still trust in you. Can God be silent in your
04:57life?
04:58Still, you say, God, you are sufficient. Though you're not moving in my life like I would want you to,
05:04you are still sufficient. Oh God, although I seem to be going backwards, you are still sufficient.
05:10We're talking about yet faith. Do you have yet faith? The word yet signals that Habakkuk had
05:15relocated the foundation of his joy. Although things are not working okay, though things are not working
05:23out like I would like them in my life, the foundation of my joy is God. Yet I will rejoice
05:30in the Lord.
05:30I will joy in the salvation of my God. Habakkuk saying, I still have a whole heart.
05:39Though things are not working right in my life, I still have God. And God is enough so that I
05:45can
05:45live. God is enough so I can breathe. And God is enough so I can stand. I still have God.
05:51Take it all
05:52away. I know what the foundation of my joy is. The devil thought he took everything from Job.
05:59But to Job, God was his everything. Praise be unto God. Habakkuk has yet faith. Yet faith can point
06:09past your circumstances. Habakkuk points past his fields. He points past the crops. He points past
06:15the cattle. Because all of that is disappointing him. All of that has failed. And he points to God.
06:21Can you still point to God when your finances fail? When your marriage fail? When your health fail?
06:29When your children fail? When you fail? Oh God, can you still, when you're going down and when you're
06:37going under, when it looks like you're not going to survive, can you still point to God with some yet
06:42faith? My, what I'm talking about today is, yet faith is when nothing's working out. And God is
06:48still enough. Lord, increase my yet faith. Things ain't working out yet. I still trust in you. Things
06:55ain't working out yet. I still rejoice in you. Oh, Habakkuk said, I'm going to rejoice. That's the
07:02act of the will. I'm going to do it. I'm not going to react to my circumstances. I'm going to
07:06use my will
07:07to say yes to God. I'm going to use my will to rejoice in God anyway. Habakkuk was experiencing
07:18all kind of loss. But he didn't grow bitter. He could have grown bitter like this is going wrong,
07:26that's going wrong, the crops are going wrong, the fields are going wrong, the olives are going wrong,
07:29everything in my life is going wrong. He could have got bitter about that, but he didn't.
07:32What he did was he grew deeper in God. Oh, he grew deeper in God and relocated the foundation of
07:42his joy. My joy is not that stuff. Anyway, the foundation of my joy is God himself. Don't grow
07:49bitter, grow deeper in God. Oh God, that you would give us some more stronger yet faith in our life.
07:59You're going to need some yet faith so you can be emotionally stable no matter what goes on.
08:06Lord, help us in Jesus name. I pray he does. Amen.
08:16I want to thank everybody that continues to stay with the word of God. Let us keep on growing and
08:23digging deeper and becoming students of the word of God. Be encouraged and let's keep growing together.
08:53God bless you.
08:53God bless you.
