00:00U.S. President Donald Trump says he could be done with the war on Iran within two to three weeks.
00:07He also signals that there's potential for direct talks with Tehran's leadership
00:11and a winding down of the conflict even without a deal.
00:16We're negotiating with them right now.
00:19Again, we have had regime change.
00:22Now, regime change was not one of the things I had as a goal.
00:25I had one goal.
00:26They will have no nuclear weapon.
00:28And that goal has been attained.
00:30They will not have nuclear weapons.
00:33But we're finishing the job.
00:34And I think within maybe two weeks, maybe a couple of days longer to do the job.
00:40But we want to knock out every single thing they have.
00:43Now, it's possible that we'll make a deal before that because we'll hit bridges.
00:47And we've hit some.
00:49We'll hit some bridges.
00:50We've got a couple of nice bridges in mind.
00:53But if they come to the table, that'll be good.
00:55But it doesn't matter whether they come or not.
00:58We've set them back.
00:59It'll take 15 to 20 years for them to rebuild what we've done to them.
01:04People pour in and destroy our country.
01:07Meanwhile, Iran's Foreign Minister, Abbas Arachi, has confirmed that messages have been exchanged
01:13with the United States, either directly or through regional intermediaries.
01:17Speaking to Al Jazeera, Arachi was quick to stress that these contacts do not mean formal negotiations are underway.
01:25He also warned that Iran is ready for at least six months of conflict.
01:31Iranian President Masoud Pazishkan took aim at Washington, saying it doesn't believe in diplomacy,
01:37and pointing to attacks that came even while talks with Tehran were ongoing.
01:41Trump is said to deliver a national address from Washington, scheduled for 9 a.m. Malaysia time,
01:48to provide an update on the situation with Iran.
01:51While his earlier remarks suggesting the war could be ending have offered some hope for a resolution,
01:57crude oil prices stayed elevated amid worries over the ongoing closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
02:0328 February, why Iran and the United States were engaged?
