00:32Amit, do tell us the bill has been introduced, a one-hour discussion that is also to be held on
00:37the bill.
00:37Is the Congress likely to support the bill? What could happen further?
00:46Well, you know, as far as the Andhra Pradesh amendment bill, reorganisation amendment bill is concerned,
00:52what it looks like is that GDP is obviously on board.
00:56This is like a dream come true moment for them.
00:58Chandrababu Naidu had envisioned that Amravati will be made the capital of Andhra Pradesh.
01:04And between 2019 and 2024, a real roadblock came in form of YSRCP government and Chief Minister Jackan Mohan Reddy
01:12because they had a different opinion about Amravati and a three capital formula.
01:17Now that Andhra Pradesh is back in hands of Chandrababu Naidu and the NDA,
01:22they thought that this is the best time to actually get a legal binding to it.
01:27So in the past two years, the, you know, foundational work was done.
01:31Centre had allotted a lot of funds for development of infrastructure in Amravati
01:35and the bill has now been tabled in the parliament.
01:38The Congress party, Manikam Tagore, he rose in the house.
01:41He has supported the bill.
01:44So that is very important part that the principal opposition in the parliament.
01:48However, they don't have the numbers in Andhra Pradesh.
01:51But certainly as far as the parliament picture is concerned, the Lok Sabha picture is concerned,
01:55the Congress party has already extended their support to this particular bill.
02:00However, they have also suggested a couple of riders' assurance of centres' assistance and funding
02:07for development of Amravati and two or three different centres so that there is holistic development in the state.
02:13So major hurdle gone.
02:14Congress party has already supported, extended their support for the bill.
02:18The Bharatiya Janta party and the Pradesh has also, you know, extended their support to the bill.
02:23Obviously, they are partners in the state government and centre as well as part of the NDA.
02:28CM Ramesh, the MP from the BJP, rose.
02:31He was speaking in favour as to how Amravati should have been developed as the state capital already,
02:38as to how the YSRCP government in the past became the roadblock in that process.
02:43And he also thanked the farmers of the state who stood with this idea.
02:50Nearly, you know, over 30,000 farmers, 34,000 farmers who had given their 29,000 acres of land
02:58for, you know, making that dream come true, Amravati as the new capital of Andhra Pradesh.
03:05Pema Swami, who is the MOS in the union government, the TDP MP from Amravati,
03:10also gave a very emotional speech in support of the idea, what I am given to understand,
03:14that Lavuk Krishna, the parliamentary party chief of the TDP, he will be also speaking.
03:19So, largely, already there was no roadblock as far as the number game in the Lok Sabha was concerned.
03:25With the Congress party's support, it seems like a cakewalk for the passage of this bill.

03:43to be the official capital of Andhra Pradesh is concerned, as the centre is tabling the bill in the Lok
03:50Sabha.
03:51And the move that follows a unanimous resolution passed by the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly
03:58on the 28th of March, urging the centre to grant legal recognition to Amravati as the permanent capital.
04:05So far, that it has been based on the fee capital model.
04:09Now, it seems like the way is clear and Amravati shall be the new capital of Andhra Pradesh.
04:16The Congress coming out fully in support of it.
04:18That is also the principal opposition.
04:21And with this, as Chandrababu Naidu had been urging that the change must be invoked,
04:30seeming like the way is now clear as the bill to be tabled in Lok Sabha.
