00:00What we're seeing in our aged care system has such real human cost for older Australians
00:06and their families.
00:07We need the government to listen to experts, to listen to older Australians and listen
00:10to their families and make changes now.
00:13This is not a foreign war in the Middle East.
00:15This is a problem in our aged care system here in Australia and it is solvable.
00:19An immediate thing we can and should be doing is moving things like showering and continence
00:23management to clinical care.
00:24You cannot tell me that showering or having help managing incontinence is a luxury item.
00:30That is just ridiculous.
00:31For the government to think that we can save money by doing that.
00:34We're just pushing the burden onto older Australians, onto families and onto our public hospital
00:39system at a state and territory level.
