00:07Paul and I became grandparents on the 29th of May.
00:12So our daughter gave birth to twin girls.
00:16Yeah, it's amazing.
00:18They're the apples of our eyes.
00:22They're not quite four months old,
00:24so they're just starting to kind of register
00:26and, you know, they're smiling.
00:29And they're gorgeous.
00:31They're just gorgeous.
00:31It's a wonderful time of life.
00:34You know, being a grandparent, you've got that...
00:37Yes, I guess there are extra pressures on you,
00:40but also there's joys that you never really experienced
00:45when you had toddlers running around
00:49or kids or teenagers to worry about, you know.

00:53It's a joyful time of year anyway,
00:55and then...
00:56So we're really looking forward to this Christmas
00:59because it'll be our first Christmas as Gaga and Papa.

01:15It's absolutely true.
01:18That's when I went,
01:19ooh, this acting thing's kind of good.
01:22Maybe I'll be better at it than I am at teaching.
01:27Look, I want to acknowledge all the other nominees,
01:32all the beautiful, fierce women that are, you know,
01:36of all ages.
01:37And I'm the eldest, yes!
01:40And if you live as long as I do, it's fantastic, great.
01:44Look, people did say to me that it's really hard to explain
01:50until you are one yourself.
01:52But I think for me, aside from the beautiful babies
01:55that we get to babysit and play with and all of that,
01:58I think it's watching your own daughter become a mother
02:03is one of the most rewarding, heartwarming things
02:11because Clancy never really, I didn't ever perceive her
02:17as being overly maternal, but then I wasn't either.
02:20So, as of, you know, before having her.
02:24But then now that she's got the two,
02:28her and Luke are just so in control and so zen
02:31and so, you know, calm about everything,
02:37it's just another layer that I've seen added to our daughter
02:43and that is incredibly rewarding.
02:46And I guess, too, as far as the babies are concerned,
02:50I mean, you know, our desire now is to be around
02:55for a lot longer so we can see them grow up
02:58and we can, you know, teach them and be silly with them
03:03and laugh with them and all of those things
03:06that you really do, like, as a mother,
03:10I mean, I was an older mother, too.
03:12I was 38 when Clancy was born.
03:14But I've never been overly mature for my age.
03:18And I think now, being this age and being able to, you know,
03:25play and interact with the grandkids is just a beautiful time of life.
03:31So, yes, tell any of the readers out there who are hanging,
03:35just hang in there because I never thought it would happen to me.
03:39We never thought it would happen to us and here we go,
03:42we've got two.
03:42So, I'm feeling very blessed.
03:44Just, you know, use it or lose it and just give some,
03:51maybe give something a crack that you haven't tried
03:55that you've always wanted to try.
03:56Don't let your age define you.

04:04Stay as fit and healthy as you can and stay well.
04:07And also, you know, people, I think the thing about getting older
04:11is that, you know, in this society we live in, there's this attempt to,
04:16particularly with women, and men are doing it now too,
04:18is to try and make themselves look younger.
04:23But I think when we attempt to cling on to our youth,
04:29it looks fake.
04:31And, look, if it makes you feel good, do it, by all means.
04:35But I don't want to walk around looking like a tuna for the rest
04:39of my days with enormous lips.
04:43I'm patently not my own.
04:46So, I would just say remember that getting older is a blessing.
04:52It's not a curse because many have been taken early.
