00:00All right, Daryl, big news across the NFL just happened moments ago.
00:03Shador Sanders is going to go back to number two.
00:06Did you just say across the NFL?
00:07This is big news, yeah.
00:09All the insiders are tweeting about it.
00:11This is big news.
00:12Big news.
00:13And more importantly, Daryl, remember when I bought that jersey,
00:16I was the proud owner of the very first Shador Sanders jersey in all of Cleveland.
00:20That one had a number two on it.
00:23And I got mocked ruthlessly when he ended up choosing number 12.
00:26Like, oh, you idiot.
00:28You don't even have the proper jersey.
00:29You don't even have the right jersey.
00:31You beat everybody to the punch.
00:32Now look at you.
00:33I said simply right church wrong pew.
00:35You know, I had the Sanders on the back.
00:37Everything was good.
00:38And that jersey sat there for a year being unworn.
00:40And I do believe I counseled you on just putting a piece of scotch tape on it
00:43to give you the one for temporary purposes.
00:46That's just tacky.
00:47I'm not going to.
00:48Well, you're not above tacky.
00:49We know this.
00:49I'm not.
00:50That's not me.
00:50You're not above tacky.
00:52That's not me.
00:52I'm not putting a plastic one on there to make it work right out of that.
00:54But my advice to fans now is I just posted because, again,
00:58I'm all about the fans.
00:59Oh, do you want people to just rip off their one?
01:01Is that what you want?
01:01Just take the one off the jersey.
01:02There you go.
01:03You just want the most horrendous looking jerseys ever, don't you?
01:07No.
01:08I just am trying to help people save $125.
01:11That's all.
01:12Was that Daffy Duck?
01:13What was that noise?
01:14I think it was Porky Pig.
01:15Is that what that was?
01:16I love that.
01:17Extinctitude everywhere.
01:18All right.
01:18So here's the thing.
01:20I'm not right.
01:23Oh, so this is a victory lap for you right now.
01:26Sanders 2 jersey.
01:26I knew it would exist at some point in life.
01:28Now I can bring it back out.
01:30I can wear it comfortably like this.
01:32Yeah.
01:33I mean, what a day for me.
01:35There are people out there that are going to believe this,
01:38and so I just need to put this out there into the universe, Daryl.
01:42Shador never wanted to be 12.
01:43I think we can all accept that.
01:44But the reasons for why he did it, I never truly understood or got.
01:48He was trying to humble himself in a way, and I get it.
01:51Coming off the draft nonsense and everything like that,
01:53I understood what he was trying to do.
01:55The best version of Shador Sanders will always exist in a number two,
02:00and so I'm happy he's making the move.
02:01I do feel bad for all the fans that bought 12 jerseys, though.
02:04I don't know what the shahive is.
02:07I don't know what we're going to do with people that have the 12 jerseys
02:10that don't want to get updated to the two jerseys.
02:12I just told you, take the one off.
02:14Problem solved.
02:15That's going to look so tacky.
02:16That'll look so bad.
02:17Well, then have the two re-enjecture it.
02:19Have to take the two off, too, and center it.
02:22Browns need to make it right, I think.
02:23I don't know.
02:24They never will.
02:25They never will do this.
02:26They've done it before.
02:27Teams have done this before where he exchanged the jersey.
02:29That's what I'm asking for, but I don't think they're going to do it.
02:32I think they're going to do a, you bought it, you wore it for a year,
02:35you got ketchup stains on it, we don't want your old jersey.
02:37I think that's going to be the result here.
02:40Luckily for everyone, jerseys aren't the most expensive thing in the world these days.
02:43Basically, go in different resources in different places.
02:45We bullied them into PSL credits, so maybe we can do it with the jerseys, too.
02:48Could this be my one-man mission?
02:49Yeah.
02:49Bully the Browns into making sure that they can get a trade-in Chador Sanders jersey
02:52for the people that want it.
02:54If you get to bring an old Chador jersey into the mix,
02:56and then they'll give you a brand new one with the right number on the back.
02:58I almost feel like, I mean, this can't cost them that much money.
03:02It can cost them a lot of money.
03:03Aside from hosting the show and taking care of your wife and kids,
03:06this is your new mission in life.
03:07All right, let's start this thing.
03:08Let's get this thing going.
03:09Omaha!
03:10Now the news that actually matters when it comes to the Browns.
03:13A.J. Epinesa, the defensive end from the Buffalo Bills,
03:16we were all excited about.
03:18The Browns adding him in free agency, live depth, right?
03:21Hold the phone.
03:22Got another problem with passing physical.
03:25Didn't happen.
03:25And so A.J. Epinesa is not going to be a Cleveland Brown.
03:30How disappointed are you?
03:33And does this now mean that the Browns are trading for Max Crosby?
03:35I don't think it means they're trading for Max Crosby.
03:37Do people think this means they're trading for Max Crosby?
03:39No, I just threw that in.
03:40There'd be a jerk.
03:41Yeah.
03:42It'd be a hell of a turn.
03:43I'll tell you that.
03:45No, I am a little...
03:47I'm not crushed.
03:47Crush would be the wrong term on this one.
03:49I'm a little...
03:50I'm upset because I think he's a good football player.
03:52I wanted him on this team.
03:54I think you're a better team with him than without him.
03:57That's about the extent that it goes.
03:59You don't agree?
04:00No, I wholeheartedly agree.
04:02Again, I just am glad...
04:03I want to know what medicals got this all caught up, though.
04:05Yeah.
04:06Well, I mean, look, you know what?
04:08At least the Browns handled this the right way.
04:12I think they handled this the right way.
04:14Unlike the Baltimore Ravens did with Crosby.
04:16Where, like, the GM didn't even greet the guy at the door.
04:19Had him basically, like, sitting in a room until, like, 5 o'clock or whatever.
04:23And then was just like, oh, yeah, by the way, yeah, this isn't going to work out.
04:27Had the hotel room with a dead body outside of it.
04:30Right.
04:31That's another little twist.
04:32The Ravens got blamed for that.
04:33I still don't know how they got blamed for that.
04:35As if, like, they're supposed to be responsible for Baltimore's dead body problem.
04:38Right.
04:39That's not on them.
04:40It's on...
04:41It might be on the city of Baltimore, but it's not on them.
04:43Yeah, it's not their fault.
04:44All right.
04:45John McVay was on Pro Football Talk, and he brought up this as a backup option to Matthew Stafford.
04:51Here we go.
04:52You know, I think Jimmy's working through his process right now.
04:54We would love to be able to have him.
04:56There's some other guys that are out there, but we do need to be able to add another guy
04:59into that room, and that's something that we're looking at.
05:01And, you know, obviously, people make some of the connections with Kirk, and if it doesn't
05:05work out with Jimmy, you know, that's definitely something that, you know, I have tremendous
05:08respect.
05:09Kirk is as influential as anybody in helping me get to L.A. in the first place.
05:13And so, you know, I know he's got some other options and some other suitors, but Jimmy
05:17and Kirk are guys that I would love to be able to have back with us.
05:19Kirk Cousins backing up Matthew Stafford.
05:22And on paper, it doesn't really make much sense to me because it's like, well, all right,
05:26why is Kirk Cousins going to go there?
05:28The bet would be that your Matthew Stafford insurance, that seems like an awful bet if
05:33you're Kirk Cousins.
05:34Also might be his only option at this point.
05:37Well, and so I think about him in that stupid, not stupid, I liked it, but the quarterback
05:42show called on Netflix.
05:44Yeah.
05:44The QB one.
05:45I thought it was great.
05:46He was football Flanders is what he was.
05:48I don't know, I don't know about great, but like he, in that, in the, where he's got
05:51the, in the room in his house, he's got the whole spot locked out for winning a Lombardi
05:55trophy.
05:56And so like, if you're only bet, like kind of like the Sean has the space on his back
06:00for the ring.
06:03Oh yeah.
06:04That's right.
06:04With the tattoo.
06:05Yeah.
06:05Yeah.
06:05That's, that's weird as well.
06:06That's, that's very weird.
06:08Yeah.
06:10Yeah.
06:10But the difference is like if Kirk Cousins just joins the Rams and then as a backup quarterback
06:15wins the ring, like that doesn't fulfill the destiny that doesn't fulfill anything.
06:18The only way it works is if Matthew Stafford gets injured and then you step into place
06:21and then you win the whole damn thing.
06:23Like it doesn't, it doesn't work both ways.
06:25Work for Bernie Kosar.
06:26I'm going to go down like a car.
06:27Are you, are you, are you demeaning Bernie Kosar's Superbowl championship with the Dallas
06:32Cowboys?
06:33Well, I mean, he won it.
06:34He did.
06:34Yeah.
06:35Bernie be the first one to tell you, it's not the same as if he had just gotten past
06:38Elway, like journey, he'd be the first one to tell you, like there's, there's, there's,
06:42there's layers to winning a ring and there's definitely levels to winning a ring.
06:46Right.
06:47Were you the quarterback that won the ring or were you the backup quarterback that was
06:50just kind of there the entire time?
06:51Like does Carson Wentz have a Superbowl ring?
06:54Yeah.
06:54But like is Carson Wentz a Superbowl winner?
06:56Not in anybody's eyes.
06:57All I know is Richard Jefferson and Channing Fryer just perfectly fine wearing their Cavalier
07:02championship.
07:02They weren't driving the bus behind last.
07:04That's what they were always destined to be though.
07:06They were always destined to be those type of guys that came off the bench and had that
07:10specific role.
07:11Kirk Cousins legitimately, which is shocking because he's got like one playoff win in his
07:15entire NFL career.
07:16Right.
07:16But he was always positioned to be the guy in his own mind.
07:19That would be the reason why this, this would not be the reason why.
07:23And, and like, and then the other part of this, like if you do become the reason why
07:26almost in like a Nick Foles, Carson Wentz type scenario, it only exists because you had
07:31to root for an injury to get there.
07:34He's two football Flanders to root for an injury.
07:36I think he, I think he likes people too much to root for an injury.
07:40I go back to what I said earlier.
07:42I think that also too, clearly the options for Kirk Cousins right now are slim to none.
07:47Like they're just, it's, it's like Joe Flacco talked about after he resigned with the Cincinnati
07:52Bengals, just not, you know, not a lot of opportunity out there right now.
07:55So if that's, if that, if that's what's available, then that's what's available.
08:00And you got to take what you can get at this point, NFL owners meetings going on.
08:06As you know, Bob Kraft and Carly Ursa Gordon, they are the, of course, the owners of the
08:10Patriots and Colts respectively, really pushing for this 18 game schedule as well as the inclusion
08:17of the international game.
08:18Now that I've realized like that's not new news, but here's the question I had for you,
08:22Jonathan, with the, the, the global situation being what it is.
08:28And I don't know, like, I don't know if you're a player or a family or whatever.
08:34Like, are you, are, are you really feeling comfortable right now with the, the, the pride
08:40of America, the national football league going international?
08:44Well, we're going to go international and we're, I mean, we're in the process of going
08:47international, which is when do we get the divisions out there?
08:49And when does that make it a reality?
08:50Now I once proposed to you, would you feel safe with things the way they are?
08:56What do you mean?
08:57Like targets, right?
09:00I mean, they're, they're high profile.
09:02Nothing's more high profile than the national football league.
09:04And these games are going to be played across the globe.
09:07Like there there's inherent risk now.
09:09Oh, I guess that, that even hadn't even weighed in my, in my mind at any of that.
09:13Those are the things that I'm thinking about now.
09:17What do you think players are going to like sit out or something in fear of that?
09:20I think that there's some conversation that's not being had that needs to be had behind the
09:25scenes.
09:25I think that they're just kind of taking this whole thing for granted and act like business
09:29is normal.
09:30And I don't think businesses is normal right now.
09:32Hmm.
09:36Now I'm trying to think what city in particular are you thinking of where any of them?
09:39Where exactly?
09:40Cause like, they're not going to attack London, for instance.
09:42That's like attacking London is the same thing as attacking America.
09:45There's certain places you just don't attack, right?
09:47There's certain spots you just don't attack, but this is getting way too, uh, way too much
09:52into the, like, I'm not, I'm not a general in the army.
09:55I'm not going to be able to really decipher all the different spots that are safe and
09:58not space, not safe.
10:00Are you telling me that like you want Goodell to only do it in spots where I look at it
10:03like they will with certainty not do anything to, is that the idea?
10:07Well, number one, I don't like the idea of international play at all, just because I think it takes
10:11away from it.
10:11We've never been a fan of it.
10:12I never have.
10:13And I remember years ago, I asked you, and I want to see if you change your stance on
10:16this at all.
10:17I asked you if, uh, I, cause I came, I'd come up with like this international week theory
10:21that I had.
10:22Cause I, I just, I saw we were trending towards this and it was what it was, I mean, like
10:25four or five years ago.
10:26And I remember proposing it to you and you were like, not a chance.
10:28But the idea was, is that everybody like one week, you'd set aside one week and it would
10:32be like international week and everybody would play a game that week, right?
10:36And it's, and oddly enough, when I proposed this, this was not a concept that people had thought
10:40about or discussed and now it's become kind of more in vogue and a thing that people have
10:44actually like give credence to.
10:45Do you feel like we're ever going to get that?
10:47Do you feel like we're going to have an international week or something along those lines where it's
10:51just understood every single night, you're going to have some game and it's going to be overseas.
10:55And that's how they're going to get this.
10:57No, I think that ultimately there will be an international game for every team.
11:01That'll be the 18th game, but they won't do it all at once.
11:04Cause I don't see the NFL giving up stateside games in a given week in the middle of a season.
