00:07Welcome to MojoPlays and for this list we're looking over the most dazzling areas to be found
00:12in Game of the Year contender Claire Obscure Expedition 33. This game is full of beautiful
00:17and mind-bending locales and these are just some of our favourites. Before we continue we publish
00:23content all week long so be sure to subscribe and ring the bell to get notified of our latest
00:29videos. Spring Meadows. The earliest location chronologically to appear in the game, Spring
00:44Meadows, pens the journey with a peaceful charm bathed in warm sunlight and dotted with wild
00:49flowers. Soft character dialogue and gentle musical score create a soothing yet slightly
00:54wistful atmosphere. This quiet beauty establishes an emotional undertone that lingers throughout
00:59the game. Its serene rolling hills stand in quiet contrast to the darker themes that lie
01:05ahead. Despite the danger its innate tranquility keeps us coming back again and again and again.
01:19The Reacher
01:20The final axon you encounter in the whole game is The Reacher. Technically optional, this entity symbolises
01:39Renoir's perception of Alicia in stark contrast to A-Line's more negative view. Where A-Line sees
01:44weakness, Renoir sees limitless promise. That's why The Reacher is named She Who Grasps the Sky. Her realm is a
01:51towering structure of rough boards and nails stretching endlessly upward. Despite constant attacks from the
01:57local Nevrons gnawing at its base, The Reacher and her followers persist, building ever higher. It seems Renoir
02:03intended this to reflect Alicia's shaky yet growing abilities. It's a truly breathtaking structure to
02:09take in.
02:21The Manor
02:26The Manor stands as one of the game's most enigmatic locations and you can see why. Scattered across the
02:31continent are doors that lead to its many chambers. Through Alicia's flashback we learn that The Manor is a
02:36painted replica of the DeSondre family's real-world estate, recreated down to the smallest detail.
02:42Presumably it's where the painted DeSondres lived before the fracture. The estate is lavish,
02:47featuring ample space for the family along with a library, kitchen and greenhouse. Clearly,
02:51the DeSondres were flush. Visages
03:15The four colossal axons found at the edge of the continent each symbolize a member of the DeSondre family.
03:21Excluding Renoir. The first one you'll likely encounter, at least among the still living,
03:25is Visages, who resides on an island that shares his name. The island is littered with expressions
03:31joy, sorrow, fury, each dominating its own region. These sections are visually distinct. The joy realm
03:38is sunlit and golden, the sadness zone is cloaked in endless rain, and the rage districts burn endlessly.
03:43The symbolism is deliberately on the nose, and we're so okay with it.
03:56Old Lumiere
04:00Welcome, my friends, to Old Lumiere. Old Lumiere marks the original location of the city before the
04:09Fracture shattered it. In what seems like a deliberate move by Clea to initiate the unravelling
04:14of the world, the remains of Old Lumiere were quickly consumed by waves of powerful nevrons,
04:18leading to a mass civilian casualty and total devastation. Now it serves more as a graveyard than
04:24a city, and a graveyard has never been so breathtaking. A bleak monument to what was lost in the wake
04:29of
04:29the Fracture, any remnants of peace or stability are long buried beneath ruin. The most striking feature
04:35of Old Lumiere is the colossal corpse of the Haller, one of the Axons. Look, breathe, enjoy.
04:41Tim. Yeah, okay. Finding them comes first.
04:46Forgotten Battlefield
04:57The Forgotten Battlefield stands as a sombre monument of the 67 years of bloodshed that came before the
05:02events of the game, showcasing both the triumphs and the devastating toll of earlier campaigns.
05:08This vast, quarry-like expanse is strewn with remains and rustling relics of the brutal weapons
05:13once wielded. Perhaps the most harrowing area is the deep pit near the tree line. It's a grotesque
05:19trophy pile formed from the countless expeditioners that were slaughtered. It's heavy and still oddly
05:25stunning. Lumiere stands as humanity's final stronghold within the canvas, a fragment of the original city
05:51cast into the open sea. At first glance, it appears more like a shattered relic than a liveable space.
05:57Buildings lean and crumble, the streets are scarred with melted slag, and the forlorn crooked tower
06:02watches over it all. Yet, despite the decay, signs of life push stubbornly through. Rooftop gardens bloom
06:08with colour, the marketplace buzzes with activity, and ships crowd the harbour for both expeditions and daily
06:14trade. You feel the warmth and tragedy across every street corner, and after that gut punch of a prologue,
06:19you understand why it's worth protecting.
06:28Papa?
06:30Eskay's Nest.
06:37Golgra said to shout the password as loud as we can.
06:41Well? Gustav?
06:45Eskay's Nest, fittingly, is the cosy sanctuary of the legendary happy-go-lucky creature. It's where he
06:50soaks in his favourite pool after long flights, admires his treasured collection of rocks, and
06:55occasionally ruffles the feathers of the cantankerous neighbour. The Nest stands out as one of the few
07:00genuinely cheerful places on the continent. There are no threatening nevrons, and the entire area glows with
07:05a soft, vibrant light. It radiates a comforting, almost nostalgic energy like a child's hideout or secret
07:11clubhouse. In short, it reflects the goodwill and warmth of its namesake.
07:15My lair!
07:17You can't just walk into someone's home without knocking! That is incredibly rude!
07:22Is that… are you Francois?
07:25Soren's Coliseum.
07:29The architecture looks very different here.
07:32This kind of place never existed before the fracture.
07:35Arguably the most formidable and unsettling of the axons is the one Renoir created to embody his wife.
07:41Towering and doll-like, Soren is adorned in an elegant gown and forever twirls in a state of joyous
07:47abandon. Renoir's depiction isn't exactly kind. His view of Aileen suggests she loses herself in fantasy,
07:53often ignoring the consequences it has on reality. Her domain, the Coliseum, mirrors this contradiction,
07:59stunning, yet crumbling. The nevrons that accompany her
08:02barely acknowledge you unless provoked. It is sinister, yet gorgeous in equal measure.
08:07The sun-swept bursts of sand and rock are so visually striking,
08:11you can't help but pause and drink it all in.
08:13The sun-swept is a bit of a surprise.
08:20The sun-wept is a bit of a surprise.
08:22The sun-wept is a bit of a surprise.
08:40Flying Waters
08:41The sun-wept perfectly sets up the surreal vibe that defines the rest of your journey.
08:45The environment resembles an ocean floor, yet the water exists above instead of below.
08:49Coral and other undersea flora stick out everywhere you look, giving it a labyrinth quality,
08:54hiding away both secrets and enemies in its denser areas.
08:57With its crumbling architecture, flying waters may also contain remnants of old Lumiere,
09:02now transformed into a strange aquatic dreamscape.
09:04You will be transfixed from your first step to your last as you wander through.
