00:10Welcome to MojoPlays, and today we're taking a look at the 10 most terrifying moments in Resident Evil Requiem.
00:21Leon, we're running out of time.
00:27Before we begin, we publish new videos all week long, so be sure to subscribe to MojoPlays and ring the
00:32bell to be notified about our latest videos.
00:36The Renwood Hotel
00:45Resident Evil Requiem starts off on a pretty high note as Grace ventures into the Renwood Hotel.
00:51Since the incident with her mother, Alyssa, the place has long been abandoned, and the place feels uninviting the moment
00:58you step into the building.
01:00The creaks, thumps, the presence of a mysterious threat, it manages to keep the tension just high enough to make
01:07the player stay on their toes.
01:09And it caps off with an intense chase and the introduction of our token mad scientist for this installment.
01:24Chunk's Big Break
01:25As if it wasn't enough to have a beefy head chef wandering around the halls of the West Wing,
01:30the East Wing didn't take long to introduce us to its chunky stalker, appropriately named, well, Chunk.
01:37He's basically a living wall of flesh that screams obscenities and forces you to find another way around the East
01:44Wing.
01:44Unless you think you can take him on, but there were plenty of times where we'd run down a corridor
01:49that felt way too dark
01:51only to find his big behind right in front of us.
01:54His size alone is enough to send most players into a panic.
01:58Chunk's Big Brawl
02:06If you were able to kill Chunk as Grace, well, it wasn't long before you found out there's a second
02:12Chunk.
02:12This second Chunk is a boss fight made specifically for Leon,
02:17and it can get stressful for those who consider themselves to be claustrophobic.
02:21The room is super cramped between the weak walls and boxes,
02:24which can make it seem difficult to navigate around this Chunk when he's charging at you.
02:29However, there are ways you can get above him and start unloading every bullet you have into him.
02:34So, he's not as vicious as the first one.
02:47A Lab of Familiar Foes
02:58Not to skip ahead to a later portion of the game,
03:01but with every token Mad Scientist Resident Evil gives us,
03:04we must go through a secret lab of some kind.
03:07Those familiar with RE2 will be greeted by a rather unfriendly swarm of foes here.
03:13Yeah, some of us weren't super keen on the Lickers,
03:16and they make an unfortunate return in Requiem.
03:19These dudes are crawling all over the place,
03:21and the second you make a sound,
03:23whether from firing a gun or even breaking a crate,
03:26they will be all over your ass.
03:29God help you when you see a group of them crawling around on the ceiling.
03:39The Blister-Born Battle
03:41This is honestly one of the most stressful boss fights in the entire game.
03:56When Leon meets up with Grace at the chapel,
03:59he encounters a new beastly enemy that will pop up a couple more times after this.
04:04The Blister-Born is pretty damn aggressive,
04:06and can deal a ton of damage against Leon in just a couple of hits.
04:10It even has a grab that can insta-kill you if your health is low enough.
04:14And just like with the second chunk encounter,
04:17the small space definitely makes this fight more terrifying than you would think.
04:30Grace's Abduction
04:31What's going on?
04:34Is she okay?
04:36Oh, she's fine.
04:38I'm just taking her home.
04:42Now, this one isn't so much as scary as it is stressful, anxiety-inducing, and mortifying.
04:48Victor has begun turning people into deranged, murderous zombies with his fancy syringe gun,
04:54and it has set the city into a frenzy.
04:56Between the people running around in a panic and the limited lighting,
05:00it almost makes it insanely hard to focus on one target.
05:03Sure enough, you're bound to let one or two folks succumb to their attackers.
05:08Not even Leon Kennedy can save everybody.
05:10Unless you get an infinite rocket launcher.
05:13Leon, have you located Victor?
05:15No, I lost him.
05:18I like that square wound.
05:19The self-destruct sequence.
05:29The underground lab at Rhodes Hills was almost a total psych-out.
05:34With the way this portion of the game ends,
05:36you would think this would be the very end of your entire playthrough.
05:39No, it's just one of the most intense moments in the game.
05:42Walking around all these containers already tells you that something is bound to break out at some point.
05:48Well, it isn't something, it's everything.
05:51All of the test subjects are after you while the entire place starts flooding with an absurd amount of blood.
05:57It's almost like a scene out of Evil Dead or Iron Lung.
06:04Saving Emily
06:16This entire segment of the game was just sheer nightmare fuel.
06:20This section had us hunting down batteries to power up various sections of the ward's basement.
06:25While there are a few times where things are well lit,
06:28much of your time will be spent wandering the dark,
06:31crawling through tubes and vents, and trying to avoid the girl.
06:34That last part is easier said than done,
06:37as the hallways are way more narrow and linear here than your encounters before.
06:41But there is one part within here that's way more frightening.
06:45So much that it deserves a spot of its own.
06:55Blood processing
07:08This section of the basement in particular
07:11is perhaps the most diabolical scenario that Capcom has ever conjured for us.
07:17What looked like a simple drainage problem that could make a quick shortcut
07:21turns into an extremely stressful situation.
07:25Avoid the giant wall of blades,
07:27while also avoiding getting grabbed by one of the corpses laying on the conveyor belt.
07:31This whole bit feels like it lasts an eternity,
07:35and sometimes it takes more effort to escape a zombie's clutches
07:38than it would under normal, less grotesque circumstances.
07:42But even after all of this,
07:44there's still one part that we found way scarier than this in the other entries.
07:49One moment that haunts me specifically,
07:52hours after playing this game.
07:54Process incomplete.
08:02It stopped. It finally stopped. Thank God.
08:05Meeting the girl.
08:07We're infected.
08:17After everything there is to see and scream at in this game,
08:22Resident Evil Requiem's most definitive, most terrifying moment is,
08:26honestly, at the very beginning of the game.
08:29The first encounter with the girl is borderline traumatizing.
08:33She is way bigger than the demos and YouTube videos make it seem,
08:37or maybe that's just my TV,
08:39and the noises she makes from crawling around the ceiling
08:41shows just how well the animation and sound design teams at Capcom have become.
08:46We just hope they really go hard on the paint when Resident Evil 10 is out.
08:50Whenever that is.
08:51Come on!
