00:04all right some um some details have emerged in the reporting on what's going on with tarrant
00:10arnold um i i've got uh i got the story from the detroit news it's long uh but tarrant arnold
00:20was with some people in florida there was a belief that um the rental house they were in
00:27had been robbed arnold went to the police and reported the lost theft of high-end bags guns
00:33jewelry a cell phone hundred thousand dollars cash and he filed a police report but um that
00:45shortly thereafter the people tarrant arnold were with are alleged all this is alleged uh tarrant
00:53the lions cornerback alleged to have um tried to contact who they suspected did it lure them back
01:00to the house and then again the people he was with alleged to have held these perpetrators hostage
01:11um i'm going to read a little bit from nolan bianchi's story in the detroit news text messages
01:16in the possession of florida state attorney's office referenced in the case against what is now six
01:21co-defendants reveal arnold's name was in the planning of the incident arnold has not been
01:27charged in the matter nor he's a recipient or sender of the text messages in question
01:34but his name shows up a lot in terms of these text messages was apparently where tarrant arnold is
01:42telling people to do this do that but arnold isn't sending any of the text messages
01:48on the morning of february 3rd the same day that arnold filed the police report co-defendant
01:52ariana del valley instructed another co-defendant jasmine randazzo to invite one of the victims to
01:59her house at arnold's direction that's what tarion said del valley follows up with a text message
02:07shortly after randazzo agrees to take part in the scheme she asked del valley who she's with
02:12quote text back tarion okay so there's all this stuff going on between these two women
02:21and one of them says she's acting on behalf of tarion arnold so there's some back and forth
02:27regarding strategy how they're going to get these guys over there that they think stole the stuff
02:32one of them asks the other how to do it and the other one says ask tarion
02:37and so a lot of people implying that tarion was in on the the scheming of this caper okay
02:46so it worked they got these people they suspected over to the house and when they got there
02:53uh two guys jumped out of a or two people rather jumped out of a closet holding guns
03:01uh they took the two people they suspected that stole the stuff hostage in a bedroom
03:06interrogating them beating them and pistol whipping them for the better part of an hour
03:09third alleged victim grew suspicious of the weight he was sitting in the car he walked inside he immediately
03:14got pistol whipped and taken into a bedroom and held hostage
03:20and these text messages i'll say that tarion said this tarion did that but tarion didn't send a text
03:29now it's complicated and i hope people are following this and i'm i'm not even sure i've 100 got it
03:35right
03:35so i'm a little bit hesitant here but you can go read the story for yourself on debt news
03:40well and dave brokett have has released a statement from tarion's attorney yep and at the end of the
03:46statement says there are no text messages showing mr arnold communicating with any individuals about
03:52this matter nor is there any evidence suggesting his participation or involvement in the underlying
03:57events any implication otherwise is unsupported by the facts and unfairly misrepresents his position
04:04we urge the public immediate to rely on accurate verified information rather than speculation
04:09mr arnold maintains his position that he had no involvement in this situation and the available
04:15evidence clearly supports that conclusion okay so that is that is the statement just released by the
04:22attorney you know it depends what the people that are accused of doing the hostage taking testify
04:34right i mean there's the text messages the reason i think that tarion arnold hasn't been charged here is
04:40because the text messages he didn't send any text messages imply that he was part of the scheme
04:49did i just cough on the microphone i'm sorry it's all right the text messages imply he was part of
04:54the
04:54scheme but that's it's what the defendants in this case their phones revealed
05:03so look i mean we do something here as part of the show just there's no need to rush to
05:09judgment let
05:10the authorities handle it we don't like trying and convicting people in the air
05:14at the end of the day i think it's in a very sports shifting the focus manner
05:23we need to talk maybe more about drafting a corner and and it's not because we know anything
05:33but they may have to prepare for life without tarion whether we're i feel like we're a long way away
05:40from that being the case but if you were brad holmes would you be thinking i need to address this
05:47position if i was brad holmes before i heard of this whole story i was thinking of drafting a corner
05:51because why wouldn't you you didn't have amik robertson you know lost him you're you're going
05:57to count on tarion arnold coming back and being healthy uh ennis rake straw same thing you don't
06:02have many corners yeah you went out and you signed one um but it you still have to you've got
06:10nine
06:10draft picks in this upcoming draft i'm guessing at least one of them will go to corner as it should
06:17regardless of what happens with tarion in this situation now if you know that it's going to be
06:20a bad bad outcome for tarion then then you start thinking about okay do i need to use my first
06:27or
06:27second round pick on a corner now right now i'm not doing that i'm going to use a pick on
06:32a corner
06:33at some point during the draft but i'm not likely to go ahead and use one with the 17th pick
06:37unless
06:38the top corner than the pet and the giraffe slips all the way back to 17 i think they have
06:42to consider
06:43it um because at this point when it comes to tarion arnold i mean kind of piggyback out of what
06:50you
06:50said we're not even sure how good he is yet he's got promise and one of the things that's
06:55disappointing about this is tarion arnold at at best here is guilty of i would feel pretty safe in
07:06saying i need to be careful here god he shouldn't have been hanging out in this situation he shouldn't
07:13be in this situation he shouldn't be in this situation whether you're hanging out with the
07:17wrong people or you're making terrible decisions as a first round pick an nfl team you got so much to
07:26lose nothing about this makes sense and so i hope he was wrong dude and betrayed by people he was
07:35with or people that were in his house and that's all this is because the tarion arnold that we get
07:42to
07:42that has made public appearances and is wildly entertaining on social media and when he does
07:49interviews like last year during the nfl draft when i think it was the second round and he he they
07:59just
08:00happened to bring him up when a bama player got drafted and espn radio had him on he was like
08:06the
08:06most entertaining guy ever i i was like i'm really rooting for tarion arnold and and maybe this is
08:13nothing maybe this is absolutely nothing scott but it sucks that he's in this situation whether it's by
08:20his doing or he got betrayed potentially by people that he knew maybe he didn't know yeah i don't know
08:27let the legal process play play out uh meanwhile for the lions you're absolutely looking at every
08:34position in the draft and and maybe the biggest reason to be looking at corners because your
08:38corners aren't good enough yeah i think i think this has to be in the back of your mind okay
08:43what
08:43are the odds that this ends up in taking tarion arnold away from the lions and i suppose they can
08:48consult
08:48lawyers to find out i'm gonna guess he'll be able to play because his name has not he has not
08:56been
08:56charged yet 248-539-9797 it's karshan anderson we got open lines phone calls and feedback coming up
