00:13bosses we have ever faced in platformer games.

00:349 Souls If you're into 2D platformers that are about
00:44as tough as, say, Hollow Knight, you probably need to hear us mention about the obscene difficulty
00:50spikes the game inflicts in some of its bosses.
00:52Ai Gong is perhaps the worst of 9 Souls' entire lineup of bosses, which was admittedly expected
01:00given that she is the final boss, but she boasts 3 whole phases and spends a good majority of
01:07the time dashing around like a Super Saiyan.
01:18Anticipating her attacks becomes a challenge in itself as you're trying to land parries
01:23and dodges.
01:24The whole fight just feels very weird, but once she's finally downed, you're likely going
01:29to feel a wave of frustrated relief instead of satisfying relief.
01:40Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pack
01:44You broke the last straw, Pac-Man!
01:48Put up your dukes!
01:50I'll tell you the bits right here, right now!
01:52For some reason, Toc-Man is really steamed at Pac-Man.
01:56In fact, he's so steamed that he's bringing down the hammer extremely hard.
02:01While the rematch against Spooky was sweat-inducing, Toc-Man is the toughest boss in Pac-Man World
02:072 Re-Pack.
02:15Despite his clunky size, his aim is almost impeccable as he'll land tons of close shots on you across
02:22all three phases.
02:23But what makes the fight even more stressful is that most of his attacks inflict an insane
02:28amount of knockback.
02:29This will sometimes lead you to getting insta-killed because you got shoved off the stage.
02:34Take it from yours truly, as I spent nearly two hours straight fighting this guy and lost
02:41more than 60 lives!
02:44It is by no means a fun boss fight.
02:47Pac-Man, you won't get away with this!
02:50Hey, don't be a sore loser!
02:52You've been beat fair and square!
02:53The Hag One, Banjo-Tooie.
03:05There are days where we'd really wish we knew what Rare was thinking when coming up with
03:09this final battle against Grunty.
03:11The Witch and her sisters use the Hag One as a final resort to take down Banjo and Kazooie,
03:17and this drilling machine comes with some lethal gimmicks.
03:20You'll have segments where Grunty tries to fire spells at you and can only take damage
03:25from eggs.
03:25Then you'll have to avoid attacks coming from the Hag One itself before being forced to answer
03:30a question.
03:38But the trickiest part of this whole fight is at the very end when the Witch encapsulates
03:43the arena in poisonous gas, forcing you to try and end the fight quickly before you run
03:48out of health.
03:49And suddenly, it's not super hard seeing why some folks weren't too keen on Banjo-Tooie.
04:01The Arcane Golem, The Messenger.
04:12The Messenger is already a pretty tough game, almost in a way similar to the classic Ninja
04:17Gaiden and Shinobi games.
04:20Case in point, The Arcane Golem.
04:22This isn't even the final boss in the game, but it is widely considered the hardest given
04:27its tricky attacks.
04:34Though it sets itself up to be attacked rather easily, these openings come at the expense of
04:39possibly getting counterattacked instantly.
04:41You have to be super precise with your positioning and movements in order to make it out of this
04:46one alive.
04:47Yes, we know, that is way easier said than done.
04:58Isadora Blasphemous.
05:06Much like The Messenger, Blasphemous is already known to be a challenging game, often cited as 2D Dark Souls.
05:13By the time you reach Isadora, you might end up questioning your life choices as she is the most grueling
05:20to endure.
05:21Her telegraphs are super short, giving you very little time to react accordingly.
05:33One move that's caused many players to drop the game is her sneak attack where a ball of fire rushes
05:38at you along the ground,
05:39right before she reappears with an uppercut.
05:42And if that doesn't bring the hammer down on you, her final phase summons Pillars of Hellfire to take up
05:47massive amounts of the stage.
05:49Good luck!
05:58Raven Beak Metroid Dread
06:11It should come as no surprise that the final boss of Metroid Dread is among the most difficult bosses ever
06:17made in the series.
06:18You just spent a dozen hours, probably more, running from relentlessly pursuing androids.
06:25This should be no problem, right?
06:27Oh, if only.
06:37Raven Beak has ways of forcing you to get closer to him, and boasts a fairly tight parry window.
06:44And if you do manage to widen the gap between you two, he will quickly close the distance with some
06:48wide-ranging melee attacks.
06:50Oh, and he'll also be able to fly and shoot lasers in the fight.
06:54At least his final form was essentially a quick time event.
07:06Chef Saltbaker
07:07Cuphead
07:14There are plenty of other bosses that players will deem the hardest in Cuphead.
07:19Grim Matchstick, Rumor Honey Bottoms, Dr. Calls Robot, maybe even the Devil himself.
07:25Take your pick.
07:26But when the delicious last course expansion dropped, Chef Saltbaker was the toughest of the bunch.
07:38Across each and every phase, you will have hazards flying at you from almost every direction.
07:44Really, overwhelming does not begin to describe the assault on display.
07:47Your best option is to just play with a calm, patient mind and try to focus on being defensive.
07:54And maybe bring the homing bullets for good measure.
08:01Dr. Wily
08:02Mega Man 7
08:10Of all the times we have ever fought Dr. Wily, Mega Man 7 made him more absurdly powerful than the
08:16other installments.
08:17The first phase of the fight is not that big of a deal. Just shoot at Wily and slide underneath
08:22him when he closes the distance.
08:24It's the second phase where the fight becomes complete nonsense.
08:37Teleporting, shots that track, albeit in bursts, shocking the ground with electric orbs.
08:42It all becomes increasingly annoying to deal with.
08:46And the fight can end up taking way longer than it should because of how long he'll stay hidden from
08:51you.
08:57The Death Egg Robot
08:58The Death Egg Robot will forever live on as one of the most notorious bosses in Sonic history.
09:14And it isn't just because of some of the tricks and trappings it will employ throughout the fight.
09:19This fight is a major problem because of two reasons.
09:23One, you already have a boss fight before this one in the form of Mecha Sonic.
09:34Two, and this is a big one, you start both fights with zero rings.
09:40And you cannot obtain any rings for the entirety of this level.
09:44You have to beat both Mecha Sonic and all phases of the Death Egg Robot without getting hit a single
09:51time.
09:52What the hell, Sega?
10:01And lastly, Absolute Radiance, Hollow Knight.
10:14Absolute Radiance is an absolute pain through and through.
10:18Like, if you're saying Silk Song is hard, how many of you played Hollow Knight?
10:24Genuinely, from start to finish, how many of you?
10:27Because we should all know the appalling Radiance for its ludicrous amounts of control over space.
10:40You get such a limited amount of room to move about in and land attacks that the fight feels borderline
10:46impossible.
10:47And this goes without mentioning how many projectiles will launch from off screen.
10:51It is so anxiety-inducing, so frustrating, that you have to wonder which poor soul on the Team Cherry staff
11:00had to test this part of the game for bugs.
