00:00All right, I'm going to give you the lowdown. I got a TomTom podcast on the line right here.
00:03I can call around to be able to just see how they're doing, how your life's going.
00:06I'm just going to talk to you. Here you go.
00:07This time around, I get to talk to a young man driving down the highway in Kazakhstan,
00:11and he's still trying to figure out what he's doing with himself, and it's pretty cool. He
00:16opened up about feeling a little lost at times and not being sure what to do and what is the
00:21meaning of everything, which I really identified with when I think about how I was when I was a
00:26young man. And we did connect. He seems like a pretty cool guy, and we got to talk about
00:31finding purpose and serving others, if nothing else, which is something that means a lot in my
00:36life. So enjoy. Hello. Hey, how you doing? I'm good. How are you? I'm doing all right. How was your
00:45day?
00:45You having a good day? Not bad, bro. What? How about your day? I'm having a great day. It's early
00:55in
00:55the morning, but so far it's a great day. You sound like so good. You're like an actor.
01:03Yeah, I'm not an actor, but this is a podcast, and it's not live. What? I have a podcast called
01:10The TomTom Show. Podcast. Are you familiar? Podcast. Yeah. Podcast. All right. Yeah. You're doing
01:22podcasts right now? Yeah, if you're up for it. It's not live, but I record. Do you want to hear
01:38it? Here you go. So it's just a podcast where I talk to people around the world and just have
01:46a
01:46conversation. That's all it is. Oh, that's good, bro. Are you up for it? Of course, bro. Are you
01:53driving down the highway? Yeah, I'm driving. I'm going to home. And you're driving safely?
02:01Yeah, bro. It's connect with the car. I speak. I speak car. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Fuck my English,
02:10bro. Don't worry. You're doing fine. What's your name? My name is Arthur. Arthur? Arthur.
02:18Arthur, yeah. Like King Arthur. All right. My name is Tom. You said you're having an okay day.
02:24Were you working all day? Yeah, I'm working. Yeah, but you're heading home now. No. No, you're not.
02:35No, I'm not. What? I thought you were going home. Yeah, I'm going to home, bro. Yeah. I'm sorry for
02:42my English, bro. No. If you don't speak, like, loudly and not... Slowly. How can I explain? Yeah.
02:55I'm going to start speaking more slowly. Your English is pretty good, though. You have good
03:00English. I know maybe it's not great, but it's good. Thank you, bro. It's good to hear that.
03:12And you know, bro. You know the word bro. That means that you have the slang.
03:17Oh, yeah, bro. What's new in your life? What's been going on?
03:26And last time, I'm losing my mind. Oh, no. Why? I don't know. I saw the movie Fight Club.
03:35And I'm beating my boss at work. You like that movie? Yeah. I watched this movie for a short
03:51time, maybe. Yeah. And I also watch American Psycho. Oh, wow. And Taxi. You know Taxi?
04:01Wait. Taxi, the TV show or the movie? Movie. Taxi driver or taxi? Taxi driver, maybe. Yeah.
04:09Wow. You're watching some dark movies. Yeah. And also, I watched Drive with Ryan Gosling.
04:16He's playing Ryan Gosling. And Blade Runner. Do you know? Yeah. I remember. I mean, I've seen
04:22bits of Blade Runner. Oh, that's good. You're watching some heavy movies.
04:31I want to be Sigma, bro. Sigma. What does that mean?
04:39It's TikTok trend. If you watch a movie like that, American Psycho, Taxi Driver and the Fight
04:47Club, you can be Sigma. It's meaning you don't like other guy who...
05:00running after girls. You're just Sigma. You are man-like. You know, I'm sounding like
05:11stupid guy. No, you're not. No, you're not. You're just telling me. I'm going to do that.
05:17Okay. All right. And so what? Tell me about yourself, please. I'm telling you.
05:22I'm 50 years old. Okay. So I just googled this real quick.
05:2650? Yeah. Hold on. We'll come back to you.
05:30It's 50. It's half 100.
05:34Yes. I'm closer to 100 than I am to zero. Wow. How is that possible? Yeah. It's easy,
05:41actually. It's a great age and nobody's going to believe me, but I think that in my life
05:46personally, this is almost my favorite age. I really feel like I got all sorts of stuff
05:52coming together because I got experience and confidence and my body's still working. I mean,
05:59another 10 or 15 years, I'm not going to be doing so hot probably, but I'll have to get
06:03my shoulder replaced. But, um, no, I, I, 50 is a great age and I have two kids, but one
06:11of them might be as old as you. So my kids are not little kids anymore. And I'm not lying
06:17to you either, by the way. There's no reason for me to lie. There's no reason for you to
06:20believe me, but I'm sure you look like, uh, 25 years. Yeah. I look like I'm 43. So I'm
06:30doing pretty good for myself. Yeah. Doing workouts. Yeah. You know, it's funny. I just started
06:36working out in the last, uh, few weeks. I wasn't looking too good, but now I'm, now I'm working
06:41out again. I'm getting in shape for baseball season. You, you, uh, bro, you, how can I say
06:48bro? You're 50 years old. Hey, I call everybody bro. Don't call me sir. Call me bro. Okay.
06:58Bro. You are right now doing podcast or you? Yeah. Streaming or? No, no. So if you're
07:06still driving, you can't get the link, but it's a podcast. Can you send, I send, I'm
07:11gonna be, do screenshots. We are chilling bro. Yes, exactly. And that's the whole podcast
07:18either. I don't have to ask you about problems or politicians or any of that shit. I just
07:23want to talk and, and do you speak Russian? Are you in Kazakhstan? But yeah, I also speak
07:29Kazakh, Russian, French, little bit English, Turkish, also little bit. And, uh, I know a couple
07:39words from Jap, Japan, and the Korean words. Sure. Sure. Why do you know so many words?
07:48School? Uh, what? Where am I learning? Yeah. This. Did you go to? I just from internet,
07:56just watching movies in English and in French. I like watching movies with subtitles in original.
08:05Sure. Yeah. What do you do for work? Uh, I'm selling. Online selling. Okay. Is that going
08:16all right? Like eBay? Like eBay, yeah. Like eBay, Ozone, you know? Ozone? No, I don't.
08:27Aliexpress. Okay. Gotcha. And how old are you? You don't have to tell me exactly, but. How
08:33do you think? Uh, if I had to guess right now, I'd say 23. Almost. I'm close? Good. Then
08:42we know that I'm in the ballpark. Did you go to university? 22, yeah. Oh, yeah. I'm going.
08:48Oh, you are? Yeah. What do you study? Uh, you don't believe I'm a teacher, future teacher. Yeah.
08:59I believe it. That's cool. I believe. Okay. Thank you. What kind of teacher do you want to
09:05be? Uh, what kind of teacher I want to be? Yeah. Like a specific subject or like a, you know,
09:14young elementary school? You know, honestly, uh, if I be sure, uh, no, honest, I don't want
09:26to be teacher or something like that cause it's not my area. I, I, I got it this, uh, this
09:38month. Um, uh, I study at university because my parents want to, I, I, diploma, you know,
09:50diploma. Yeah. Right. Diploma. Get diploma. That's. Yeah. Yeah. My English vocabulary
09:59doesn't enough to explain. Um, did you play sports? Do you play sports? Any play sports?
10:05Yeah. Yeah. I'm, I'm, I'm workouts. I'm doing workouts. Bodybuilding, you know? Oh, wow.
10:11Yeah. But I'm, I can't say I'm big, but, but I'm training, uh, almost seven years. Okay.
10:21Yeah. I start when I eighth grade or like, um, continue doing, but, uh, so last time my health
10:32is not good. That's why I, uh, stop doing, uh, exercises. Yeah. Workout. And I was in depression.
10:45How is it saying? Depression? Yeah. When did you have depression? I think right now I have depression, bro.
10:56No. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know. I'm, I can't sleep. I can't feel the life. Yeah. Um, I, I don't
11:08know who am I. Why, why, why am, why am I leaving? Yeah. Living. Yeah. Oh, well, yeah. And, and,
11:16so you stay up late at night or what do you do? At night I'm just, uh, I'm just, uh,
11:23I'm just,
11:23uh, wait, uh, can I think, think, I'm thinking. Okay. Um, at night, uh, looking at the dark
11:37and just sitting, I can't sit three hours, four hours, the morning, the four, two morning, four
11:49morning. I start at night and the ending morning, I'm going to work with, uh, red eyes.
11:57Man. Yeah. That sounds. And then, yeah. So you're, you're having a hard time sleeping and you actually
12:02are wondering, you're wondering why, what is the point of life? Is that kind of what you mean? Or
12:08yeah, what's the matter of life? Why am I late? Right. And, um, no, that sucks. I've dealt with that
12:15in my life. I have. And it, it comes and goes, but it's, it, it's terrible. And you're a young
12:22man. So yeah, this stuff comes up where you're not sure what, what is the purpose of anything
12:27and why, why are we even doing this? What, what, do you have any sense for your purpose?
12:31You might be a teacher, but you don't even want to be a teacher. Is that what you're saying?
12:37Yeah. And are you sure that you don't want to be a teacher? Maybe somebody else wants you
12:40to be a teacher? Uh, maybe someone wants to be a teacher, but I, I, I don't want to be
12:49a teacher. Uh, I want to be, you know, I don't know if, if I, I knew that I'm maybe,
12:59I don't,
13:00I don't have purpose as it's why am I in the prison? I think I'm, I don't know what, for
13:07what to live, live life. You don't have purpose. Did you say? Yeah. What, what is it? What,
13:17what would you do if you could do any career right now? What, what is your passion? It's a great
13:24question. Um, yeah, sometimes I just, uh, packing my bags and I'm going to mountain where we're now
13:36country. We have so many mountains and nature and, uh, I'm trying, I'm meditating. I'm trying
13:45to find something in my mind and trying to find my purpose in this life and religion, uh, I,
13:57all of this area, um, how's it looking and I, I can't, I can't fight. Um, I, I think it
14:07just, just leave, just this life don't have a point. Yeah. Yeah. No, I, I've gone down
14:19that road with this life, but this life does have a point if you, if you make a point or
14:25if you find
14:25a point. If, if there is no point, then it feels like it's all worthless or it's all meaningless, but
14:33you might have to just keep striving until you find, find that. And, uh, you want to say point
14:39is finding point. Maybe. Yeah. And if you haven't found the point and you can't see the point, then
14:48it seems like it's meaningless. Uh, uh, it's, I don't know. Is that silly? Yeah. I want to say
14:57thank you, you listening and not laughing or something. No, and I, I really mean it that when I,
15:05I, 30 years ago, I was in a similar place as you and I did not know what the hell
15:10I was
15:10going to do. And I didn't even, at times I didn't want to do anything. I'm like, what
15:14the hell is the point? What am I even here for? And if, especially if you're feeling pain
15:19around that, but you, you can easily find a purpose. And maybe if you, uh, you might find
15:26that serving other people and helping other people get to you, get to you there, you know,
15:35it'd be funny if being a teacher turned out to be the right thing, but you also got to,
15:39you don't want to do anything for someone else. You got to figure out what you want to
15:42do or what you need to do. What else? What else you got for me? Uh, I just want to
15:50say
15:50you are so fucking good, man. Sorry for language. No, I understand. I'm, I'm feeling so
15:59comfortable right now. Oh, great. No. That's, that's for it. Yeah. Can you recommend,
16:07recommend a book, recommend, recommendation book for me? Book? Yeah. Hmm. Honestly, what's
16:15one? Top five books. Have you read, uh, uh, The Little Prince?
16:22Yeah. I started, but not ended. Okay. All right. And if it's not up your alley, then it's
16:29not up your alley. Um, otherwise I'd say catcher in the rye. The catcher in the rye might work
16:36for you. It also might make you feel a little bit more confused, but I'll put them in the
16:42chat. Did you get them? Catcher in the rye? Yeah. Catcher in the rye. Can you, uh, in
16:51chat? Tom, Tom, Tom, Tom, Tom show. Catcher in the rye. Tom, Tom show. I'm going to Google
16:59you. Wait, bro. Yeah. Who are, who are you? Who am I? Tom. Yeah. Well, I'm Tom and I'm in
17:08the Midwest of America. I'm going to be famous, bro. Thank you. It's still a baby podcast.
17:15It's only been around for a few months. So a lot of people love it, but they, uh, you
17:20know, it's still young. The podcast is like a baby. Um, I said the bad words. Yeah, bro.
17:28Oh, I say bad words all the time. So it's like, it's like a podcast where we talk about good
17:33things and we just kind of have nice conversations, but it's always explicit because at some point
17:38I'll, every episode somewhere I say the F word or somebody does. So that's, it's all
17:43good. Uh, you, are you, uh, in what? You're famous or no? No, no. All right. And, you know,
17:54I'm sorry that you're not sleeping well. I've dealt with depression my whole life and, and
17:58just remember that it, it happens, but then it goes away. It is going to go away. Right?
18:04Right. All right. Do you feel hopeless or do you feel hopeful?
18:09Uh, I feel nothing. Yeah. I just help to others. That's my purpose. I think just helping not leave
18:19not for me, uh, for others. It's what, what only can I do right now? But thank you. And thank
18:30you very much. I think you, uh, you have to go and I have to go. Yeah. Yeah. This was
18:35great. It was
18:37very good talking to you and I hope I do really do hope you start sleeping better. Okay. Keep
18:43working. Thank you, bro. All right. And it was wonderful talking to you and I want you to have
18:47a good night. Okay. All right. See ya. Yeah.
19:00Bye.
