00:00all right i'm gonna give you the lowdown i got a tom tom podcast on the line right here
00:06hello there hey i'm a podcast in america you have a podcast yeah and so what's the name
00:16the time time show the time time show all right all right the time time show did you see in
00:25the
00:26chat there i put the i put a link oh tom tom show i i heard time time show but
00:32uh oh shit i found it
00:34that's crazy yeah and so i just call people around the world and just see how they're doing see what's
00:40new what you've been up to if you're game i mean yeah sure i mean not much honestly i'm just
00:48uh
00:48struggling with uni honestly with what uni university oh sure yeah wow no that's i talked
00:56to a guy the other day in uh sweden who was having to take his final exams and stuff do
01:02you mean you're
01:03struggling with content or you're just busy as hell i'm just busy as hell what do you uh study
01:11computer science so how are you let's go so like how old are you i am 50 i just turned
01:1750
01:20crazy i know does that sound pretty old to you yeah that sounds like ancient are you married and
01:27stuff yeah i'm married i got two little ones except they're not little ones anymore one of them is your
01:32age so damn yeah that's crazy romania is that what you are yeah it's so funny on this tool sometimes
01:45i
01:45a country pops up but then it turns out to be somebody in chicago or something i'm like what
01:50no i know i know i've talked to plenty like americans quote-unquote and it was a that was from
01:57anywhere but america yeah yeah how how are things in romania oh brother they are interesting i guess
02:08politically speaking yeah honestly because i don't know if you know what's been happening no i don't i
02:14know that you're near the ukraine and that's basically all i know uh i mean to put it simply
02:23um i don't know putin is just trying to conquer the world yeah yeah that's basically what's
02:30happening yeah so is that stressful for you right it's not at all it's just it's been um i mean
02:36there's been kind of a ruckus recently politically because what what the man does i mean it's really
02:43shadowed is like you don't know for sure although you know um but you can prove it basically is what
02:50i'm
02:51trying to say is that this guy just hires people to run for president in different countries those
02:57countries being for example romania france georgia i don't know if anything happened in germany as well
03:06maybe but um recently like a million people uh went to the capital in georgia which is crazy
03:14okay to riot or something yeah right well yeah that's the thing is if all the politicians end up
03:21crooked or evil then the people are gonna speak up and start taking action so i don't even think it's
03:31because it's crooked or anything it's just because straight up they support russia yeah it's like
03:39i don't know they don't even try to hide it yeah well yeah i mean if you support somebody that's
03:44crooked uh you're pretty much crooked yourself really i guess i mean in my anything i say is just
03:52my opinion there's a lot of bad stuff going on that's why i like this podcast because it's just
03:56about human connection and it um you know can just cut through all that stuff in a sense none of
04:02that
04:03stuff matters at times right um what's also important is just connecting but
04:09no interesting tell me what you think because if you disagree with me i want to hear that too
04:13i don't i don't yeah i'm so um i mean i don't know tell me about computer science how's the
04:20market how
04:21is it i was finding a job how is everything in general yeah you know what i've been i've been
04:27almost
04:27spoiled my whole life because uh i'm in the midwest of america and whenever i needed to go find a
04:34job
04:35there was a job available so i don't know what it's like right now because i don't have any desire
04:40to change jobs but um at least in throughout my career i was pretty lucky in terms of being able
04:47to
04:47get work and um i don't even know what the market is like right now but it almost doesn't even
04:55matter
04:55what it is here is it you got a decent market in romania so that you feel like you'll get
05:01it maybe
05:02i don't know man i feel like everybody is like that with everything like if you didn't make it yet
05:08everybody who did make it they'll make it sound like it's something like just blow it out of
05:14proportions basically so it's like for example um there was this guy well multiple actually because
05:22i feel like there's this common denominator between all of them which is this advice of
05:28oh yeah if you want to get rich as a computer uh i mean i don't know software engineer you
05:34got to
05:34change jobs every fucking one and a half years or two years no yeah i don't know about that and
05:42i got
05:42family in uh italy and my understanding at this point is that uh a lot of folks a lot of
05:50young
05:50folks are leaving italy to go get work it sounds like in the north there's a lot of jobs and
05:55there's
05:55a lot of businesses it's harder in the south in the north meaning like uh sweden and all that like
06:02milan and i don't know maybe turin oh i was just reading up on that at one point there's a
06:08lot more
06:09business for your masters where do you want to go if you had to choose right now where would you
06:13want to go to do that to choose right now well somewhere that you know a place that they speak
06:19english so i can you know understand them for example i mean uk that's probably it america is
06:27just too far like it would be cool if i could but it's so far yeah yeah i gotta tell
06:35you i can't
06:36believe how many people around the world speak english and this podcast wouldn't even exist if
06:43so many people weren't so good at english like i'm impressed and it has really hit me i've only
06:49been doing this for about two or three months you have very good english me or people in general yeah
06:57oh and yeah it's thanks yeah and when i went to italy in march and i got to meet my
07:05my cousins
07:06my cuginos and we all had a heck of a time communicating and then one of my cousins showed
07:12up he would and he could kind of translate for everybody i was like thank goodness thank god
07:18this guy showed up and i couldn't believe how well he spoke i was like this guy speaks better than
07:23i do
07:25yeah honestly i remember like the first time i came here on the first time i found this site
07:32and i heard an american speaking because obviously my i don't know if my english got better but
07:39definitely my accent got better because that's the main thing man i don't know it's like such a hit
07:45because the thing is americans in movies i don't know i feel like americans in real life on this site
07:51even you know yeah i don't know this sound more american than americans in movies in a way
07:58i don't know how to say it i kind of know what you mean and that's just a funny uh
08:03way to phrase it
08:04yeah yeah that's funny i also at one point i called the dude in i ended up in chicago and
08:13the guy on the
08:14phone was from serbia and he had you could tell there was a little bit of an accent but
08:19he could even kind of a little bit obviously like a serbian accent but he also had an american accent
08:25and he had all the slang down that was funny i was like wait this guy he had been in
08:30america for a
08:31while you know at least a few years but i wonder if i saw more american than americans in the
08:36movies
08:37you listen to the old movies they sound like they're from england i don't know man i don't know i
08:42feel
08:42like i mean aside from like a few shows that are specifically made so that they talk a bit more
08:50normal i feel like all the all the american movies is like they don't portray how americans actually
08:58speak like normally i don't know yeah in all movies are bullshit like it feels like it's everything
09:06everything is so formal yeah in every movie like even when they when they cuss or when they
09:14see something bad i feel like he's just so formal i i honestly if i was in that movie and
09:19that actually
09:19happened i wouldn't be offended at all just by the way they cussing but then you talk to an actual
09:24american and he's like oh my god he's a different species what the hell wait what do you mean about
09:31the cousin or that's funny i'm about anything i don't know just the way they speak it's just a
09:37certain swag oh funny i don't know how to say it yeah it's like it depends on like where you
09:43live as
09:43well i talked to somebody from texas yeah and it was such an experience wow i did not understand one
09:50word but i had such a good time oh sure i talked to somebody in louisiana and i had it
09:57there were plenty
09:58of words that i couldn't even hear i was like wait what was that accent and then up in the
10:03northeast
10:03yeah you were like wait am i the foreigner yeah shit i was like i apologized i'm like it's you're
10:09not doing anything wrong it's my ears that can't hear you you know but and that's a funny thing too
10:15people will talk about americans it's like there's a lot of americans and even within the city i live in
10:22there's a lot of different types of human beings i mean we always try to boil it down and try
10:27to
10:27figure out what is this person like and i wouldn't be surprised if americans do talk too much
10:33when they go to europe they they're loud they they talk a lot yeah yeah yeah no i remember that
10:40i was
10:41on a train at some point going from the capital home and um uh there were these two americans right
10:50and they were just man i don't know man they were they were having so much fun i don't know
10:56like they
10:56were just talking to everybody they were like trying to trying to get this girl and she was
11:01obviously very excited because as a romanian you don't usually speak to americans yeah and she was
11:06like oh my god yeah right and maybe they were loud and they were talkative and yeah yeah yeah i
11:13don't
11:14know no we were like that when we were in italy we were sitting at a restaurant and the whole
11:20family
11:21i have two kids everybody had a little bit of wine and then we got pretty talkative and there was
11:26a
11:26couple next to us that i think were from germany or something and they did not want to talk a
11:31whole
11:31lot they were kind of private people and by the end they were just staring at us the entire time
11:37and i
11:38jokingly my my wife and i we would tell the the kids hey we got to act like we're european
11:43right now
11:43like we're in this little restaurant let's not be too loud and so now even in our life now we
11:49say hey
11:49act like you're european like just chill out a little bit because you you're being obnoxious or
11:53you're being too loud so i don't think we ruined anybody's meal but we did decide to tone it down
11:59at one point and just kind of quiet down a little bit but i felt like we were in a
12:03zoo i felt like
12:03the people next to us were watching us just exist i don't know if they were judging us or what
12:09it's
12:10all good you know sometimes i yeah well it's crazy because in america i assume i don't know i've
12:16never been but i assume it's probably a very loud environment maybe um and you know you just adapt
12:24to it you know and then you come to europe which is the exact opposite and obviously you're the
12:31outsider yeah yeah well i live in the midwest and there's a lot of nordic folks here there's a lot
12:38of
12:38german folks here and a lot of those folks can be very private and they're not introverted but they
12:45can be reserved and they can be kind of um kind of private and just once they are comfortable
12:52they'll talk your ear off but i happen to be in a place where the people are not necessarily super
12:57gregarious or loud and of course if you're out in the country i spend a lot of time out in
13:03the
13:03country i live in the city but i like to go fishing and hunting so then i get to meet
13:08all sorts of
13:08different folks out there and i appreciate i appreciate city folks and i appreciate country
13:13folks yeah it's too easy to try to boil down like if you try to tell me what is a
13:19romanian like what is
13:20a romanian like and then you're then missing all the diversity in the maybe in the north they're
13:28different than in the south and you know yeah you're right every country has a diversity yeah you're
13:34right and we're all human beings anyway so yeah i mean that's the thing is that when people bother to
13:40not argue with each other they can just kind of you know yeah for the longest time i thought genuinely
13:47like this was a genuine thought in my mind i thought that every single american living every single one
13:56had a gun guess what you're right poor belief of mine i imagine i could see why you would think
14:06that
14:07totally yeah i totally get it we probably get that impression yeah there are you have a gun i have
14:13several but that's amazing but but i don't um like i don't carry a handgun and i i use i
14:23have long
14:23guns for going and shooting deer and rabbits and birds oh okay right yeah the only time i ever even
14:31load a gun i'm out in the country like i don't feel if somebody wants to break into my house
14:38to steal
14:38my tv i'm just going to tell them to hurry up and i'll be like here here's my laptop too
14:43now get the
14:43hell out of my house i do not ever want to shoot somebody um under any circumstances even
14:51in self-defense or whatever so um when i when i self-defense i would show it self-defense if
15:00you
15:00had to i'm just saying that would also be pretty dramatic and then i mean yeah obviously but it's
15:05just you know if it's fight or flight it's fight or fight yeah yeah and you know i got chased
15:10by a
15:11bison um by a bison a bison my son and i a year and a half ago and i had
15:18uh oh and your son that's
15:20crazy now this is a stupid tangent i just took this in the wrong direction i'm pretty sure
15:26but i had it's fine now i want i want to i want to hear the bison story we both
15:30had so we had
15:31shotguns and we were in nebraska both you and oh i forgot that your son is now i'm it's my
15:37bad i
15:38imagine like a five-year-old with a shotgun no he did that too but now he he was a
15:43young man
15:44and then the bison took to chasing us and the the guns weren't loaded anyway because we were
15:49passing through a reserve to get to it's a long story but i thought i don't want to shoot a
15:54bison
15:55in the face um i would rather run away but your son was giddy to shoot it yeah no no
16:02he uh i told him
16:04to run i might even have to cut this whole story because it's just silly but i was holding his
16:09shotgun when he was taking a picture of the scenery then the bison came out and then once it started
16:15running as we both ran i had a shotgun in each hand so i was running very slowly oh the
16:23guns blazing
16:24two shotguns in each hand yeah but they were unloaded because i didn't think on the reserve i didn't think
16:30it was a federal reserve i didn't think we could even load them until we got to the bro if
16:34i was
16:35the bison i'd shit myself i know but i just had to run weak type shit it almost got me
16:41and then uh but
16:42i just had to make sure that my son got across the bridge so he did man on a on
16:47a real note though
16:47like running from a bison with your father damn that's like wholesome shit it actually was it was and
16:56we we had once we ran across this damn bridge we got to the hunting grounds at that point where
17:00you could go hunt like you can't you couldn't hunt on the preserve and we got to the gate and
17:05i was
17:05like dude let's get out of here let's get out of here right now and he was also pretty traumatized
17:10we were in a kind of a narrow a narrowing so the bison totally got the drop on us
17:16and then we we once we ran across and the bison almost got me i mean it was within a
17:20few feet
17:21because i was only i can only run probably 12 miles an hour anyway i think that's huh so then
17:28we just got the hell out of there and we went into town and we ate and then uh it's
17:32now a great
17:33family memory but we were pretty traumatized for a few hours damn i think that's it scared the hell
17:39out of us i've never had to run for my life that's what we were literally doing and it's now
17:46a great
17:46memory it's a it's a great memory but yeah you're like i'll do it again yeah i don't ever want
17:52to go
17:52back to that place i don't know
17:58what's funny is we had seen a bison on the way in and it was about 120 yards away and
18:03i was like
18:03this is plenty close like i don't want to get any closer than this and we had to stand in
18:09one spot for
18:09like 40 minutes to wait for the bison to go away and then once we went down to the river
18:15and that's when the one snuck up on us that's crazy yeah so that's a little tangent there but
18:21i do appreciate guns i really enjoy going out and getting meat you know when we shoot a couple deer
18:28we get 100 pounds of venison in the uh freezer what do you do with all that meat we we
18:36just eat it oh
18:37you know what we give some away like um every year we probably give away 20 or 30 pounds 20
18:44pounds and
18:45then um we make sausages out of some of it and so when we have people who will cook up
18:50a bunch of
18:50sausages you know brats but yeah because it's crazy because it's like just it's a whole deer like it's
18:57huge yeah that's that's what my kids love the most is the the venison do you hunt or fish or
19:02anything
19:04no no i don't hunt or fish yeah no so i mean i would love to honestly go on it
19:14sounds it sounds
19:15really really fun to hunt you know the word fun for me sometimes sometimes it is fun it's really
19:21fulfilling i mean uh there's a feeling that i get when i actually take the animal and then have to
19:29work so hard to get the meat and get the animal back up to the car and then butcher um
19:34it does make
19:35you value food more i should say it makes me value food more and it is pretty fulfilling i mean
19:43it is something that we're wired to do in a way human being actually i i don't have a question
19:52what
19:52was your wife's reaction when you and your son pulled out to the house and was like honey i was
20:01chased by a bison today no i i have the we we called them as soon as we got back
20:06to the car we were
20:08about we were maybe like 280 miles away from 400 miles away from home and we called them right when
20:16we got back and my wife and my daughter were dying laughing they could not stop laughing because
20:22really yeah at that point for one thing they didn't know how frightened we were
20:26and we were already kind of starting to laugh about it ourselves because since we weren't hurt we
20:31were like okay this is actually pretty cool but my family was dying they thought it was hilarious
20:37then we sent them a photo of me next to the sign that said beware bison before we went in
20:43there
20:43we took a funny picture of me next to the side so oh yeah yeah i i figured if i
20:51was gonna get chased
20:52by something it'd be a bear or a moose up north damn bro you're living the life you know what
21:00actually
21:01i think i think i am you mean with the the hunting and just yeah like just having a family
21:07going
21:08hunting yeah that's just so so cool having a having a stable job i don't know man i don't know
21:16it's like
21:16just genuinely living the life yeah you know you know it's funny that a lot of people who are
21:22wealthy would look at me and say you know this dude doesn't doesn't have much you know i got a
21:27crappy
21:27little boat and i got a nice house but i do feel blessed and i feel like i have everything
21:33i need
21:34and my kids are healthy and we never have to think about food we don't have to think about the
21:39temperature of our house it's always nice and warm in the house i mean i really do have it made
21:43and you know that's i think hopefully you're on track to get to that at some point if you stick
21:50with your study and you'll be there too and uh and start hunting then you'll have the perfect life
22:00once you start hunting oh wow i just i just uh clicked on a video of yours yeah uh and
22:07the sound
22:08the sound quality of your microphone in the video is so much better than what i'm hearing yeah you know
22:15what god dang it i'm on the bluetooth are you willing to try something with me i know you might
22:21have to run oh hell yeah i have to let me get on the usb i i'm on the bluetooth
22:28let me see if i can
22:29make the usb all right give me one second all right can you hear me can you hear me now
22:43hello
22:46how about now cool compared to how i hear you now okay it's like
22:53before i was hearing you from the like fifth dimension okay now i'm like damn i just found
23:00is it a lot better oh yeah it is that's awesome all right i finally i had to uh the
23:06bluetooth is
23:07is okay but now i'm wired right into my laptop perfect thank you for for working with me on that
23:15no problem yeah do you know what i want to hear i want to hear the story of
23:21how you met your wife oh all right i uh used to hang out at this coffee shop
23:29and i think in like 1995 damn cross paths yeah i know i'm on
23:36cross paths and we all hung out one night and i was like damn she's really pretty
23:42but i was still pretty awkward myself so i didn't know what to do and you just
23:47uh hung out that one night with a few other people and then uh what's funny is that back
23:54at that same coffee shop a few years later we then uh we're both in there and we kind
23:59of just started chit-chatting and she was like yeah we should go we should hang out sometime we
24:04want to like play computer games or something like that
24:06wait she initiated it no we both we both initiated we were sitting there talking and we both were just
24:15like you know what this is pretty cool so we um yeah i don't i remember who initiated but we
24:22were
24:22both obviously on board but then uh we we still didn't we didn't connect um we just couldn't connect
24:32and you know what i gotta be honest back in those times i was frightened of the concept of a
24:37relationship and makes sense yeah but i mean it's a little unfortunate and um and so i kind of bounced
24:46around and i just could never get to the point where i would i would you know get serious and
24:52really
24:53try i was actually intimidated at the concept of having a real relationship so how old were you
24:58like at that time i was probably 21 22 oh okay yeah okay when we started hanging out again
25:07but then i was um i wasn't ready and i was actually quite intimidated at the concept i was like
25:14oh no
25:14this this could actually be a thing so i actually kind of ran away from it in 2001 she went
25:21to uh
25:22chile which is where she was in uh exchange school and we had been hanging out and when she was
25:28gone i
25:29was like oh i think i'm in love with her and i told my buddy i had a conversation with
25:32my buddy and i was
25:33like i am i'm in love with her and he's like what he said you need to tell her it
25:38was a great moment
25:38right and he's like you need to tell her then you gotta tell she got back from chile and she
25:44was like
25:45i'm moving to chile and i'm gonna sell all my shit and just move because she loved it down there
25:52and i was like i remember we were sitting on these couches and i was like listen if you move
25:57to chile
25:58then we might never be able to find out you know if we could have had something between us
26:03and so she uh and i expressed my love to her now she was embarrassed by this and put a
26:08pillow over her
26:09face but she had had a crush on me back in the day we we almost took turns having crushes
26:16on each
26:16other so then at that point that was the turning point when i told her and i i opened up
26:21and then
26:21she decided to give me a shot and now she regrets it every day because she could have been in
26:26chile
26:30that's a good end of the story yeah that's just a funny thing no we both actually feel like we
26:35got
26:35yeah we both actually regretted no that's what we were saying it's not just her yeah right it's
26:43mutual yeah yeah we're on the same page no we actually feel like incredibly blessed because you know
26:49what there's a little bit of luck if you get a partner husband or wife and things actually last
26:55for a period of time there's some luck involved there and you have to work on it so we have
27:01both
27:01so it is the whole thing feels lucky but you like that story yeah i rated a 10 out of
27:0910 i liked it
27:12great what's your do you have a special someone in your life or no no good you gotta focus on
27:19your
27:19studying anyway i mean yeah i'm also not 50 so you know i got i got i got some time
27:29yeah you have
27:30plenty of time to find someone yeah yeah there's no rush and then uh and then hopefully you'll be
27:37done with school in five years or so huh yeah when you say like that that sounds like a lot
27:44of time
27:44yeah i guess you didn't need to hear that but it's less than six you know it'll go back quick
27:51i'm sure
27:53i mean i don't know it's not like i'm trying to like um it's not like i hate it or
27:58anything it's
27:58actually a pretty cool experience yeah right but yeah it's plenty of work huh i mean it is but it's
28:06fun as well you know it's like some sometimes it's like you're full of work and sometimes it's just like
28:13fun time yeah and you're around a bunch of other young people at the university yeah that's yeah
28:21in the dorms is it fun i mean it's just a lot of fun yeah you're having the same experience
28:27as my son
28:27yeah the tuition in america is also like huge oh it's terrible it's terrible yeah and i'm disappointed
28:35i love my country and i'm also disappointed in my country for all sorts of reasons
28:40and the tuition is one of them you can love your country and be disappointed in we're just gonna
28:47have to figure out how to get him get him through maybe once the podcast gets a sponsor and then
28:52i can
28:53pay for my son college i don't know man because like you keep talking about your son and it's like
29:03i don't know you obviously love him a lot but the question i have is like because to me it's
29:08so
29:08i cannot comprehend how for example if i had a girlfriend even for a long time just coming up
29:17with this like idea of let's have a baby oh sure i don't know yeah yeah like how like did
29:26you to
29:26discuss it beforehand and like if so for like how long yeah right and yes when we got married i
29:34think
29:34it was we were talking about it and my wife kept joking with me for a few months after we
29:39got married
29:39that oh we should make a baby come on let's kind of let's get a baby okay come on let's
29:45do it i really
29:46wanted that yeah or at least she was um you know toying with joking around with the idea oh yeah
29:52okay
29:52and then all of a sudden i was like all right yeah let's do it let's make a baby
29:56and she was like okay yeah it took like six months after we got married and then uh and at
30:05that point
30:05she was actually starting to wonder like should we have kids you know we've had some challenges in
30:10our life we have some some difficulties that we've gone through in our families there's some mental
30:15illness and some um even some uh alcoholism and stuff and so we had to she started to really
30:22question it then all of a sudden we got she got pregnant very quickly and it's like well
30:27yeah that's how it works yeah and and it's also the hormones i mean we are we are wired up
30:34to to
30:35make babies you know it's sometimes that it hits you or if somebody gets to the right age my wife
30:40is
30:4029 and then she probably held the baby at some point and said yep i'm doing this i want this
30:45you
30:45just kind of a switch flipped and uh and then we pretty quickly got got the baby got our first
30:53baby
30:53and we were blessed with the second one that was not too long after so and i was like that's
30:59plenty
31:00i think two is plenty that i mean yeah and we both agreed that two is two is just right
31:06for us
31:07and it's funny there were times where i thought in my life god dang should i was i cut out
31:13to have kids
31:13can i even do this is this something that i can even pull off and it was a little scary
31:20but
31:21i gotta tell you a quick story i have a cousin who has a baby on the way and he
31:26expressed that he was
31:27a little anxious about it and that's totally normal you know it's bringing another human being into the
31:32world and back in the 90s i worked at this little uh a little corner store and i used to
31:37flip burgers
31:38and make gyro sandwiches and stuff and i went back to visit those guys and it was like a second
31:44family
31:44for me these folks were from brazil and they were like a second family for me and i went back
31:51in there
31:51when i had a baby coming and i talked to my guy jamal and i was like man i'm nervous
31:57you know i don't i don't
31:58know if this how this is going to work out and he said tom if you bring a baby into
32:03the world god is
32:04going to take care of everything you don't have to worry about anything everything is going to work
32:08out and i'm not a religious guy but when he said that to me it actually had an impact and
32:14made me
32:14feel calmer about the whole thing and he just kind of told me everything's going to work out
32:20so then my cousin who has a baby on the way i just told him that story and he was
32:24like gosh that kind
32:25helps and neither one of us are very religious but that's just yeah i'm not religious either yeah
32:34are you uh are you spiritual at all are you oh i don't know i i i have a question
32:42maybe when i was
32:43younger but i just don't really care honestly yeah about that kind of stuff yeah yeah no and i
32:53i don't believe but i was raised uh as a christian and there's still a lot of things that jesus
33:01talked
33:01about that are just brilliant and i just love and i still the words guide my life even though i
33:07don't
33:08believe that he was divine or anything no i think like the bible itself is like a really good book
33:17to
33:17read obviously um because i'm really into philosophy last year yeah and um yeah i mean i don't know if
33:26you you you could compare philosophy with religion but i don't know it's both are talking about ethics
33:32and stuff yeah so no i i can see that yeah and some some of the things that jesus had
33:39to say
33:39especially if you kept it really simple or some of those statements like god saying how you treat
33:45your fellow people that's how you treat me and if you if you want to respect me or honor me
33:53then
33:53treat the people around you well and i think that that's pretty simple and pretty straightforward and
33:58valuable as hell so bro you have such good energy i swear to god like you you sound like such
34:04a happy
34:04man honestly i am i don't have that energy all the time well and i i feel the same about
34:09you like for
34:10real i appreciate it i do i have a perfect life i was telling somebody this in the fall i
34:14was like
34:15my life is perfect i don't have gobs of money i don't have a fancy car but everything is perfect
34:22and i believe that i mean honestly after it's a show uh but after watching snowfall yeah uh i realized
34:33that
34:33i don't know if i want to be rich i don't know if i want to have too much money
34:39right i don't know i
34:40i just want to have enough yeah but not too much yeah an adequate amount of money is is adequate
34:49that's in the bible too that if you get too much money it's going to be hard to get into
34:52heaven
34:52and then yeah that's not literal that there's a there's a reason yeah yeah because in that show is like
35:01it's portrayed very very well about how um at first the show is about slinging cocaine in america
35:10but then it quickly delves into like how getting money how getting really rich affects like the main character
35:21who just gets obsessed with the idea of money because i think it is probably very real like if you
35:29just
35:29spend a lot of time chasing something you forget why you started chasing it right and you just don't stop
35:38chasing this like more yeah concept yeah and then and then people are just chasing that little
35:43that that currency you know especially the people that just work in money and make money by moving
35:50money around it's like what i i want to work my whole life i don't i don't want to not
35:56work
35:57i think that that will probably that's something that might actually kill us if we don't work i don't
36:02want to have to work 80 hours a week but and the more money you get the more problems you
36:07have
36:07you know that song yeah right i think it's true yeah well that's exactly why i said it because i
36:14also think it's like really true yeah and the bottom line is that if the glass seems like it's
36:21half full or half empty it's not that the glass is actually maybe maybe yeah no i get it is
36:27like up to
36:27perception yeah and and here's what i'm saying is if the if you just get a smaller glass then the
36:33glass
36:33will be full if you have reasonable expectations of what you need and want then your life is full
36:41yeah i've heard that thing about just people all like whenever they when whenever they're doing
36:48good they just up their uh box of living in a way yeah for example if you if you make
36:54a certain amount
36:54of money and you spend i don't know and i don't know for example 12 000 i'm just pulling that
37:01out of
37:01my ass on whatever the fuck on going to restaurants just yeah aside from the bills you have to pay
37:07basically is what i'm trying to say and then as you make more money you up that box of living
37:13which
37:13is not good it's like you spend more money recklessly you buy more stuff that you just don't need
37:19it's like and that's then that stuff never makes you happy it gives you a little dopamine and then it
37:26feels good for a little bit and then it just becomes one more thing that you own yeah i've done
37:32that
37:32that's why i know how that works because i've gone down that road a little bit of consumerism and now
37:39i don't want any more stuff i got a new podcast deck here i'm pretty that's all i need you
37:45helped me get
37:45the audio right hell yeah i appreciate that yeah um so like why did you start this podcast um well
37:56here's the deal i in 2015 i think i had the idea for it and i finally in 2016 started
38:03recording
38:04and i was like 2015 10 years ago yeah whoa well and i'm a dude who has a hard time
38:10following through
38:11sometimes and i got some and sometimes it's related to mental health like for real i'm gonna be honest
38:16that then i had this idea some people were like oh that's a great idea and i recorded maybe on
38:23like
38:23five occasions i only i found some of the masters the other day in a hard drive and i i
38:28only had a
38:28few bits that were like worth listening to and i recorded in my basement just just with a phone
38:34you know just a demo and then i just kind of set it off to the side and i lost
38:38interest and
38:402019 i was going to restart it and i got freaked out about like waivers and shit and i was
38:46like
38:46i don't want to get sued can i do this what if i publish content it felt like too much
38:52and then uh in the fall i played one of my demos for a producer and the producer was like
38:58yeah there
38:58might be something there let's start recording see how it goes um and the the concept is simply
39:05call people around the world be kind have a conversation if it goes nowhere it goes nowhere
39:11our conversation has gone somewhere and i appreciate the hell out of it and uh so just started recording
39:17only in december and now at this point for creative reasons and just to keep things going better i'm
39:24gonna i have a studio in my basement so that's that's cool man that's just cool yeah yeah it's
39:33changing my life actually i'm not even kidding you that you know you expressed that you really
39:37enjoyed talking to me and some people have said wow you really made my day my i talked to somebody
39:43in long island new york last night and he was like man i really appreciate you calling me and i'm
39:46thinking i appreciate being able to call you and just having this conversation like it really
39:52i think it's it's changed my outlook and it's it's made me feel more connected and
39:58the the thing is these phones that we have you know sometimes actually uh ruin our human connection
40:05or they they make us focus on the phone we're not even calling anybody it's not even a phone
40:10the the devices we get um they're just i don't know sometimes i just forget how old you are and
40:16then then you and then you say stuff like these phones that we have i was like this
40:22and i sound old that's funny yeah these telephones that we have what's your name by the way
40:28did we even do that my name yeah it's caesar caesar oh that's a cool name jeez
40:35thanks what's your name tom yeah yeah caesar i'm very glad that i was able to call you on this
40:42telephone oh thank you tom
40:46you're a good kid caesar i appreciate it i have to go in about three minutes oh my lord
40:54i mean i also i was about to say that i also have to go because i have to study
40:58more the way the show
41:00works is that even if down the road you're like you know what i'm not i don't like this content
41:04anymore i don't want the content to be up i didn't kill it did i what i'm getting i'm an
41:12old man i just
41:13got turned around here with all these browser windows i really did i thought i i thought i killed
41:19the app um down the road even if you are like yeah you know what bro i'm not kind of
41:27i don't like
41:28the content anymore i don't want you to publish it then i just take it down it's fine grandpa you
41:32can
41:32publish it i allow you call me gramps that's great all right then i'm gonna i'm gonna find you

42:00computer keeps telling me that i got a virus i need your help caesar my my computer wants an update
42:06what do i do yeah i do what should i do oh that's funny yeah no man shit i appreciate
42:13it man this
42:14was a great conversation then yep actually you asked me more questions than i asked you sometimes i
42:19i try to go the other way but i appreciate it oh this this conversation was really really fun
