00:03Here at the San Diego Zoo our Malayan tiger cubs are now seven months old. They weigh about 90
00:08pounds. Connor and Christopher eat about three pounds of carnivore meat daily. They also get
00:13rats twice a week and femur bones twice a week also. That's how they brush their teeth. Connor
00:18and Christopher are very similar in some ways, but they also have distinct personalities. Connor
00:22tends to be the first one out. He tends to try new things quicker. He likes to play with a
00:26lot
00:26more toys. Christopher hangs back a little bit, you know hangs out with mom a little
00:30bit more, but he's also will easily take food from Connor if I'm not really careful
00:34on how they both get their food. But they get along great most of the time. Occasionally
00:38they have little spats when it comes to food. Connor loves things he can tear up. I mean
00:43they're both pretty much destroy anything they can get, but Connor is the one who likes to
00:48really tear things up. So we like to give them things like magazines and burlap bags and all
00:52sorts of different plant parts. They're like typical kids. They eat, sleep, and
00:56play. That's pretty much how it is. First thing in the morning they're a lot more
00:58active because they're looking for the treats that we put on exhibit. Then they
01:01nap for a bit. Then they wrestle with mom if she's in a good mood. And then they start
01:05the whole process over again. Meck is your typical tiger mom. She's at times very sweet
01:09and loving and playing with them. At other times she's disciplined them and teaching them
01:13how to be tigers and on their own. And as of a certain age she will be pushing them
01:16away, which is a normal process. So they need to learn to be independent, but at this point
01:20they still want to be around their mother. Well tigers are amazing, beautiful creatures to work
01:24with. They're a top predator, they have an intelligence level that's just amazing, and
01:28they all have different personalities. And especially at the young age of the Cubs they're just a joy
01:31to work with because they're just so much fun and they like to interact and play.
