00:00You just had a mock draft and I was searching and I didn't see Ty Simpson in the first round.
00:05Now I'm on record saying I do not think Ty Simpson is a first round pick. Obviously a lot
00:13of discussion about him. Take us through it. Yeah I mean for me nothing's really changed. I went back
00:18and looked through it. So I've had three lists that have come out in terms of my top 50. He
00:22started out as my 40th player on the first list. He was my 40th player on the second list. He
00:27was
00:27my 38th player on the most recent one. So I've always thought of him as a second round pick.
00:33You know when you're a evaluator I think the word value you know comes into play and I like him.
00:38I
00:38don't think it's like you love him or you hate him. I like him. He's got really good feet. He's
00:41got
00:41nice stroke. He can make you know layered throws. There's a lot of good things and he did it over
00:46you know seven eight games which was impressive. There's three or four games including the conference
00:50championship game against Georgia which was not good. Then you add the fact that he's not the
00:54biggest guy in the world and you put that together with 15 starts you're fighting up the hill here.
01:00When Cam Newton's the only one since 2011 with fewer than 17 starts to be a good player as a
01:05first
01:05round pick with that little experience and Cam Newton is a cyborg. Like he's a freak show. So when
01:10I think of an evaluation it's about the value and for me when you assume the risk that you're going
01:15to
01:15take here I value him as that early second round pick. Now if somebody wanted to take him late in
01:20the
01:20first round I have no problem with that but for him to be a top 15 top 20 pick I
01:24don't think that's
01:25where the value is.
