00:44there's still a lot of games to be played and there's going to be a lot of losses taken by
00:48other teams in this chase you have to be better than them the rest of the way but last night
00:54was six minutes to go in the game the red wings got a power play yeah
01:01they didn't manage to set it up in the zone once it was the most it was the most critical
01:08power play of the season against one of the worst penalty kills in the league bottom three
01:16and they didn't set it up in the zone i'm like oh my god i think that was the second

01:22they had where they didn't get a shot on well yeah you're right because the only thing i got
01:27was van reamsdyke with the tip that went off the post right at the end of the power play was

01:32only real threat that they had and that damn near went in but yeah they had a couple of really

01:37chances in that third period to tie things up and they didn't i'm encouraged by the third period but
01:43at the same time i'm not because you took on a depleted ottawa team on the second night of back

01:50a team that you've owned all season long and that's the effort we see for the first
01:5635 minutes a game was awful i mean i want to get excited about the way that that that power

03:53every way and they didn't come through now if they go out and play great on friday night and beat
04:01buffalo at buffalo where they don't play well if that happens then does that erase what happened
04:06last night or does it make you more mad i i mean look i all i care about is what

05:57been mired in in the bottom of the league for a long time players don't want to come here anymore
06:04bright bright shiny arena it's great their fans are fantastic the original six the the winged wheel all
06:11that doesn't really matter with today's player i think look i'm not ready for a post-mortem on
06:15what's gone wrong but i'm sitting there thinking about what has gone wrong and and ultimately this
06:23comes down to if you have a belief that you don't want to give up your top prospects come trade

06:28to insert veteran talent that's fine but then axel sandin pelica shouldn't be in a position to get
06:38sent down carter mazer shouldn't still be in the minors where is sebastian cosa why isn't nate
06:44danielson here yet and it's oh they need seizing it needs time but if you believe in those players
06:49and they're still not making a major impact then maybe that belief maybe maybe it was too much belief
06:57well and the other thing is this and look i'm not singling out those individuals but just to think
07:02of the collective group of prospects we've been waiting on and what are the what's the real impact
07:07they're having right now on the detroit red wings well that was the thing when we got the detroit
07:11deadline it's like okay you're going to trade away a bunch of people that you haven't seen for somebody
07:14that you know is great okay i'm up for that and with sandin pelica here's what's interesting there
07:20how many games was he scratched before they finally sent him down like what's the point of having him up
07:27if he's gonna be a scratch every night and then finally you say okay go back to grand rapids
07:33i mean there's just it's very frustrating right now and the whole team is frustrated the front
07:38office i'm sure is frustrated uh they did not expect to be you know nail biting again in march based

07:45how this team had played throughout the season and of course it coincides with a year where everybody
07:52is really good in the eastern conference i mean typically you would think 95 points get you in
07:57the playoffs without question now you're like i'm not sure if it gets you in look i again i'm i

08:02emphasize this enough i'm not done with this season i'm gonna let it play out watch it it's very it's

08:08discouraging loss it's difficult to see this team turning it around but seasons have ebbs and flows
08:13teams we've given up on this year include michigan state basketball the pistons and both those teams
08:20turned it around different sport and this team this organization is giving us feedback over and over
08:24that in march when it matters most and they need to put the pedal down they don't and so the
08:30skepticism is fine but i'm you know can they get hot at the right time i i guess we'll see
