Videodiario sull'audio binaurale per Hellblade.
Trascrizione
00:06In Hellblade we aim to take our players on a journey with Senua
00:09to experience the world just as she does.
00:12A key element of this is audio, which led us to binaural recording.
00:23Binaural recording is a method of capturing sound.
00:26By positioning two microphones in such a way that they hear the sound in the same way that a person
00:33would.
00:33For this we use a microphone that replicates a human head.
00:38Binaural audio really makes you feel present within a space.
00:41But crucially for our game, it allows us to emulate voice hearing,
00:46which is a phenomenon that Senua experiences a great deal of in our game.
00:51You will die now.
00:53We'll all die someday.
00:54It's getting enough.
00:55I'll continue tomorrow.
00:58You're afraid of the dark.
00:59I'm being patient.
01:03Getting closer to him.
01:05So our intention is to record all VO with this method.
01:15What you're watching now is our first test of binaural recording,
01:19where we took our microphone down into our car park
01:22to see how much environmental sound it would pick up.
01:30And then we'll figure it out into our car park,
01:44so that's what you're doing.
01:45So bring it on here.
01:51We'll come back in and look.
01:56I'm here with Tamim
01:57and I think it's fair to say
01:59that our tests so far have gone
02:01really well
02:02this is actually really quite
02:04an exciting step for us in terms of audio
02:08when you look at
02:09some of the lived experiences
02:11that people have talked about
02:13when they first have these experiences
02:15there is an inclination to turn around
02:17and see where that voice has come from
02:19for everyone it's different, I mean some people hear the voice
02:21as if it's coming from
02:23within their head and so
02:25part of the test we'll do is to see if
02:27we can make a voice sound
02:29like it is coming from within
02:31your head
02:32but for other people, different voices can
02:35occupy a particular
02:37space and
02:40the clarity to which they
02:41hear them in that position
02:44is
02:45incredibly vivid and real
02:48when audio is recorded
02:49binaurally, it gives the listener
02:51a 3D sound experience
02:53allowing them to place the sounds
02:55in the space around them
02:57and what you're listening to now is
02:59binaural audio
03:01so it should sound as if I am directly in front of you
03:05if I move over here
03:06it should sound like I'm in your left ear
03:10and it should now sound like I'm whispering in your left ear
03:14and if I move over here
03:15it should sound like I'm in your right ear
03:19whispering weirdly in your right ear
03:22and as I talk and move around you should be able to place me
03:26in the space around you
03:28even behind your head
03:35and as I talk and move over here
03:58and as I talk and move over here
03:59and as I talk and move over here
03:59and as I talk and move over here
03:59and as I talk and move over here
03:59and as I talk and move over here
03:59Grazie a tutti.
04:29Grazie a tutti.
