01:05e finisce.
01:10Of course, c'è lìwec lì.
01:12We gotta make it fun for the player.
01:13So this time around,
01:14we made a lot more freeform,
01:15we added a lot more shooter elements to it.
01:18In the past,
01:19we put such a strong emphasis on squad combat
01:22that we took a lot of control away from the player.
01:25Set up the MG over there!
01:27We realized along the way
01:28that ultimately what we needed to do
01:30was not neuter the player's ability to be powerful
01:32but to make his squads even more powerful,
01:34to make them more relevant.
01:36Let's go!
01:37I tell my squad to suppress the enemy or kill the enemy.
01:39In fact, if I get really good at the game
01:41and I choose to play it this way,
01:42I can beat the game without ever firing a shot.
01:45Now the player's viewing his squad
01:47as more of a weapon rather than a squad.
01:59Destructible cover has made a huge difference
02:01just in the wow factor in keeping the game new.
02:03just totally blow away a chunk of wall
02:05and like people were just so excited
02:07every time they see that.
02:08It's like really awesome
02:09to see people's reaction to that.
02:11Introduce is a bit more of an element of time.
02:13You're behind a wall
02:14and that wall may not be there for very long.
02:16You have to use tactics
02:17but you have to use those tactics quickly
02:19or you're not going to be around much longer.
02:21It's pretty technical, you know,
02:22to make something blow up
02:23and make it look realistic.
02:25But then when you see it in the game
02:26and you see it blow up,
02:27you're like, that's awesome!
02:30Along with the destructible cover system,
02:32we have a gore system
02:34which is pretty brutal actually.
02:39We have a really awesome gore system.
02:42You can tear out limbs and arms.
02:47Part of our push for authenticity
02:49was that we didn't want to pull any punches
02:51as far as the effects of these.
02:54When a bullet hits a target,
02:56when a grenade goes off next to a target,
02:58we want to show what these things do.
03:02We get into this, you know,
03:03what we call an action camera sequence.
03:04The camera goes in really close.
03:06I'm right on the guy.
03:07So as he's like flying through the air
03:08and getting blown up, like, you know,
03:09I've seen an arm, you know, get torn off
03:11and a piece of his leg is like flying at the camera
03:14in glorious slow motion.
03:24When you see real soldiers in real situations,
03:26a lot of time they're in a relaxed
03:27or, you know, more of a patrol stance.
03:29You can't always be perfectly ready.
03:31Guns are heavy.
03:32You can't always hold them up to your eyeball all the time.
03:34Soldiers are not always in combat.
03:35They're not always yelling.
03:36If he's in patrol, he's talking,
03:38and there's color dialogue to go along with that.
03:39I don't think you're going to kill him with words.
03:41Coming out of a cinematic player
03:42and his squad are in this patrol stance,
03:45then you'll suddenly see them all hunker down
03:46and they'll get really quiet.
03:50They start getting low, they start whispering.
03:52This spot doesn't look too safe.
03:53You notice Baker's voice changes.
03:55When he gives commands, he's whispering.
03:57Germans ahead. Don't think they saw us.
03:59This lets the player know that he's in stealth
04:01and that the Germans can't quite see him,
04:03but he can't get too close.
04:11As soon as combat starts,
04:13we'll shift into a combat posture
04:14and everybody will be screaming and, you know,
04:16everybody's up when the gun's out and we're firing.
04:18Face the fire!
04:19I've got energy!
04:21Fire!
04:23You get a great amount of feedback
04:25about your surroundings
04:26and about the combat
04:27and about the way the battle's about to unfold
04:29by just looking at your men.
04:30This isn't safe, Frankie.
04:32Don't lighten up, Gorian.
04:34It's just a...
04:36There's also armor.
04:38There are artillery pieces like, you know,
04:40the German side, the dreaded 88.
04:45You know, 37-millimeter cannons
04:46and all kinds of artillery pieces.
04:48And then there's also tanks.
04:53You can button up.
04:54That means you're going to get inside of your hatch
04:56and just use your main gun and your turret
04:57and take guys out.
04:59Or you can even climb up and get on top of the tank.
05:01You have a better view up there
05:02and, you know, you can use the machine gun
05:04and just grind guys out.
05:06There's a lot of ways you can use a tank
05:08to cause havoc on the enemy.
05:09To me, the tanks are like,
05:11that's the dessert.
