01:01One of the most important aspects of doing that is really walking in the shoes of the original creators.
01:05So that's why it's almost like an archaeological project where you're kind of digging up all this material.
01:12You're talking to the original team.
01:13You're trying to find out exactly what they were thinking, what they were feeling at the time.
01:17And you use that as a way to springboard into the new direction you want to take the game and
01:22the presentation and the feel and the mechanics.
01:24Yeah, enemies in particular were a huge challenge.
01:28There are, you know, 56 different enemy types.
01:32Which, you know, by today's standards you go, even, you know, large AAA games don't have that variety of characters.
01:40The one thing that stands out to me about Medieval that I still remember today was when I first got
01:45to the time device level.
01:47Which is this crazy level that has brains, trains, and clockwork parts.
01:52And it was just this bizarre change of pace in the game that just felt like it belonged as much
01:58as it didn't.
01:59And I really enjoyed that part of the game and, in fact, that level kind of opened my eyes up
02:05to that kind of design where you can just throw that weird left hook that nobody's expecting and take people
02:12on this, like, totally different path in a game.
02:15And that one was, hands down, my favorite part of the game.
02:17The Hall of Heroes is probably my favorite place in the game because it's something that alludes to a larger
02:25world that Dan lives in.
02:27And that world is everywhere.
02:30You know, you can feel it everywhere.
02:32It's the way the characters are written, the personalities involved, and there's just a ton of charm there that makes
02:38you want to spend time in that world.
02:40And I think, ultimately, I think that's one of the reasons why it has endured for 20 years.
02:44You know, why people today are just such huge fans of it is because of those characters they created.
02:51Dan is an amazing character.
02:53And, you know, all of this cast of characters of all these heroes that come from different lands and they
02:59all have something to say about Dan and his position in the world.
03:02I think, really, that, to me, is really, you know, having the ability to go in and interpret that and
03:07sort of build out this world artistically was really probably been the most fun part of this entire thing.
03:33Thank you.
