01:30There are two basic types. You have Assassin Demigods who are just really tough, powerful guys.
01:36Or you can pick Generals who play a little bit more like an RTS where you have actual units that
01:41you can control and send them to do things.
01:43Now here I am playing as the General, known as the Oak.
01:48And the Oak is mostly a support character, but as you can see him running around there, I have just
01:54selected two of my units to go and attack a tower.
01:59To win the game, the way it works is that there is a series of flags on the map.
02:04These flags, when captured, give your side various powers, but also help increase your war score.
02:09As you increase your war score, you get access to better and better stuff for your side.
02:14The reason why we did that is that we wanted the game, the strategy, to focus on the tactics more
02:20than the economy.
02:21So in this game, there is no farms, there's no peons that go mine things.
02:26Instead, you are literally going around and capturing the stuff that actually produces it.
02:35So here, as you can see, I am out busy with the Oak killing off characters.
02:41And one of the Oak's coolest powers is that he can actually cause those who die around him to come
02:47back as spirits.
02:49So as you can see, these spirits that are hanging around him.
02:51As I kill a bunch of these guys, you'll see more and more spirits, which make him increasingly powerful.
03:00So, as I capture flags and I get better and better stuff, of course, that gives me more and more
03:05advantages over my enemy.
03:07The other thing it does is it allows me to get more and more gold, which allows me to actually
03:12upgrade my character to have new powers,
03:17such as I can buy potions, I can buy rings, I can buy better armor, and all the other kinds
03:23of things you'd normally expect in an RPG.
03:25Also, your demigod has 20 experience levels, so through the course of an arena battle, he'll go up levels.
03:31And you can see the level going up below.
03:34See, I just gained a level just now.
03:36And if I hit the plus button here, I can go and I can pick another power.
03:40Let me just get out of the fighting here.
03:43So here's my powers.
03:45I just upgraded my ability to get more and more spirits, so that when people die around me, they become
03:52my minions.
03:54So, another thing about demigod that we're going to have starting with beta 3 is the pantheon.
03:59The idea there is a persistent world where players battle in these arenas, and the favor points are actually tracked,
04:06so you can actually help your side gain ascension over the other.
04:10And, of course, everything about the game online allows you to keep your stats and your wins and losses
04:17and favor points all tracked and ranked and all kinds of cool stuff.
04:21It also has a single-player skirmish mode, a la what we had in Sins of Solar Empires,
04:26but we also added a tournament mode in single-player, where you actually battle against computer AIs
04:31who are trying to ascend their demigod in a series of matches.
04:35So it allows you to have a lot of replayability in single-player.
04:39So, uh-oh, I'm about to die.
04:42So, demigod will be out in April.
