00:01A couple seen in a viral video allegedly filling plastic jerrycans with subsidized
00:07RON95 patrol is being investigated by the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry.
00:12The ministry's Johor chapter said it had conducted checks on the patrol station involved,
00:17looking at CCTV footage and transaction records to verify the matter.
00:22In a statement, its director, Cecily Nacornomo, said further action will be taken by tracking
00:27down and summoning the vehicle owner for investigation.
00:31Cecily Nacornomo, said the case is being investigated under the Control of Supplies Act 1961 for failure
00:37to comply with regulations set by the Comptroller of Supplies.
00:42Individuals who commit this offense may face a maximum fine of 1 million ringgit up to
00:47three years in prison or both if convicted.
00:51A viral video showed the couple allegedly filling up close to 230 ringgit worth of RON95 fuel
00:57at a patronage station in Skudai, Johor.
00:59They were seen filling up jerrycans before filling the car's fuel tank as well.
