00:00The man seen in a viral video filling plastic containers with Ron95 patrol at a station in Bayan-Lepas, Penang,
00:07committed no offense, the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry said today.
00:13As Jagan, director of the ministry's Penang branch, said enforcement officers were deployed to the location to investigate the incident
00:20following a complaint.
00:23In a statement, he said Chex found that the individual is a fisherman and holds a valid permit to purchase
00:30fuel in accordance with existing laws, subject to a set quota.
00:33He added that the fuel purchase complies with regulations and does not constitute any offense.
00:39Jagan said that purchases of more than 20 liters of fuel in containers require a special permit for controlled goods
00:46issued by the ministry.
00:47He warned that selling fuel in containers beyond a permitted limit without approval is an offense under the Supply Control
00:54Act, 1961.
