00:00Rated T for Teen
00:17We felt like the weapons were going to be the key component
00:21which would help you provide your own identity
00:24We tried to give you as much ability to customize that
00:28So let's say that you've got your favorite gun
00:30Someone comes along and picks this weapon up
00:33and they're going to know, hey, that's George, hey, that's Tom
00:36That weapon is awesome, I just love stealing your gun
00:40We felt like it gave it that unique feel that everyone wanted to have
00:44in a first-person shooter that made you feel like you were unique
00:50The weapon components that are featured in Blacklight
00:53are very tactical and also interchangeable with each other
00:58They have a sense of the future
01:00but they're also very grounded in things that are very real today
01:04The way characters obtain various weapon components
01:08You start out with very basic titan iron sights scopes
01:12and then two presets per weapon
01:15From there, each battle, you gain certain achievements
01:19As you build those achievements, then it unlocks certain pieces
01:24that then you can have more presets
01:27You can also take it and build your own weapons
01:31Weapon tags are basically charms or trinkets
01:34that people attach to their weapons
01:36and sort of the crazy charms that people are adding to their cell phones and stuff
01:41Weapons have their weapon sling loop
01:43So we started developing tags, actually, that you can hang to this little thing
01:48and it has its own physics and everything, and you can run around
01:50They actually come associated with little perks that can improve the player's skill set
01:55It's definitely a little way to add a little bit more personalization to your weapon
01:59And it's actually a very cool system
02:05We tried to keep the weapons in Blacklight really, really grounded in reality
02:10We did a lot of research, but we tried to take all the things that we really liked
02:14Everything that we thought that would be fun for a multiplayer game
02:17And we based them off something in the real world
02:20We say we took it ten years in advance
02:21Some things, you know, a little further
02:23Some things are a little sci-fi
02:24But in reality, most everything has got a grounded feel to it
02:30And you don't feel like you're playing with ray guns or, you know, Tesla technology
02:34It's all based off of something that's in the real world today
02:41The weapon attributes in Blacklight are actually very, very deep
02:45There's up to about 25 different attributes that change on the weapons themselves
02:50with the new customization systems
02:52Butt stocks themselves will, in a nutshell, control the kick
02:57as well as some of the velocities of the player
02:59The barrel itself controls the spread as well as the center weight of the bullets
03:03The scopes, of course, change zoom and optical views
03:07But also will change some of the accuracies of the weapons
03:11The magazines themselves, of course, have the amount of ammo
03:14But also the weight of the player and then the reload speed
03:18Which, if you're in a firefight and you quickly reload, hopefully you're going to win that match
03:22But also the different base weapon systems makes the combinations huge
03:27There's six core primary weapon systems
03:30That times the 25, 30 different items that you can add on to each weapon
03:35It just makes the combinations huge
03:37And it's extremely hard to balance
03:41The future of warfare is just around the corner
03:44Download Blacklight Tango Down this summer on PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Arcade, and PC
