00:00You know, defending national champions, we've, you know, in Division II, I was fortunate enough to win a national title,
00:06and then we actually got beat in the first round, which was pretty rough.
00:12But, you know, they got back to the one seed and had a spectacular season.
00:16They got a lot of respect for their program.
00:18As far as my guys go, you know, this is tough.
00:21You know, I mean, that's all it is.
00:23This is tough kids.
00:25They fight.
00:26They compete.
00:27You know, they stick with it.
00:29They just, they exemplify everything that we've wanted in Iowa basketball.
00:35They've established the foundation that we desperately needed and couldn't be any more proud of them.
00:41Obviously, a disappointing result for us tonight.
00:44Credit Iowa.
00:45I thought they played well, especially in the first half.
00:47Had us on our heels a little bit.
00:49I thought they were physically tougher than us in the first half and took a little bit for us to
00:53regain our footing,
00:54and then they got off to a good start in the second half.
00:56And really proud of our guys and the way we fought.
01:00Obviously, came back and took the lead.
01:02Got up by as many as, I think we were up three or four at one point late in the
01:07second half.
01:08And just did a poor job executing on both ends in the last two minutes.
01:11I thought, you know, obviously on the last play, we wanted to take a foul to prevent them from getting
01:18off a three,
01:18and they got away from us.
01:20We weren't able to take it, and they knocked it down.
01:22So credit to them for that.
01:23And just a tough way to go out.
01:25But really proud of my group.
01:26Love these guys.
01:27They did a great job for us all year, gaining the second one seed in a row.
01:32And a tough one for us to swallow.
01:34And, you know, we'll be thinking about this one for a while.

02:01But your approach to that game was awful on so many levels.
02:04You played, you allowed Iowa to dictate the pace and tempo and what was happening in that game, which is
02:12why you were behind early.
02:14And, oh, yeah, by the way, you got dragged into the mud by McCollum.
02:19He basically outcoached you is what he did.
02:22And, by the way, McCollum with the absolute greatest line of the tournament so far regarding the double technical fight
02:30and scrum in the first half.
02:31When they asked him about it on the sideline, he says, yeah, everyone just got a little bit sensitive over
02:36there, meaning on Florida's side there.
02:39I thought it was the line of the tournament, Donnie.
02:41And, yeah, they were a little sensitive that Iowa was punching and Florida wasn't punching back.
02:47And, ultimately, they dragged you into the mud and you weren't able to get out of it.
02:52And that is why Iowa, a nine seed, is really, could it be the Cinderella of the tournament right now?
02:58By the way, Joe, we couldn't even make it out of the weekend with any perfect brackets out of millions
03:03and millions and millions of people.
03:05So, Cal, she's like, hey, we don't have to pay out a billion dollars for a perfect bracket.
03:08Nobody's ever going to do that here.
03:11And then there were none, it says, Joe.
03:12No perfect brackets remain here.

03:17Yeah, well, again, ten and a half point favorite is what Florida opened up with there against Iowa, a one
03:23versus nine seed.
03:24Oh, yeah, by the way, Donnie, they were playing in Tampa right in the backyard there with a place filled
03:30with nothing but Gator fans.
03:32Just a terrible, terrible coaching job by Golden there.
03:38But, hey, you know, live and learn.
03:39Congrats to Iowa.
03:40They deserved it.
