08:22Welcome back
08:23A group of 39 Palestinians returned to the Gaza Strip after being stranded in Egypt following the closure of the
08:29Rafa crossing by Tel Aviv occupation forces following the onset of the U.S.-Israeli war against Iran on February 28th
08:36The group, most of whom were patients who had received medical treatment abroad, returned to the Palestinian enclave early on
08:42Monday
08:42According to eyewitnesses, the Israeli army detained and arrested one of the returnees at a checkpoint en route to the
08:48Strip in what is believed to be the first incident of its kind since the crossing we opened
08:52The return is taking place amid extreme devastation with the healthcare infrastructure of the coastal long cliff in ruins and
08:59restrictions on civilian movements still in place
09:10The Palestinian ministry of women's affairs condemned Israel's colonial and discriminatory policies which leave women and girls vulnerable
09:17The agency emphasized that the Israeli regime implements a policy of apartheid to undermine the rights of the Palestinian people
09:23The strategy includes land expropriation, the expansion of settlements and the demolition of homes which directly affects women and girls
09:32who are displaced to shelters or detained in Israeli prisons and suffer abuse and medical neglect

10:20evacuation of all civilian personnel from the area
10:23Despite the high number of interceptions, local authorities confirmed that efforts to propel the aggression remain active at various points
10:29throughout the province
10:37And this month, during the two sessions, China's strategic policies for the 15th five-year plan were defined with national
10:44and local guidelines
10:45Shanghai, one of the country's most important cities, is already planning its actions for the next five years
10:51A correspondent, Bruno Falsi, brings us more details from there
10:56Greetings comrades, here from Shanghai
10:59Within the framework of the 15th five-year plan that goes to 2026 to 2030
11:06Local authorities have unveiled an ambitious plan to further solidify the city role as a modern, socialist and global influential
11:17international metropolis
11:18The city will focus its efforts in three areas
11:24First, the international economy, where Shanghai handled approximately 4% of the global trade
11:32Second, the finance with Shanghai Stock Exchange among the world's largest and more important of the world
11:40Third, the third, the maritime transport and scientific innovation
11:46Boasting a port that remains the world's busiest and significant investment
11:52And a lot of money in research and development
11:57Thanks to these three measures, Shanghai is project to become a global business home
12:04With one of the highway city cross domestic product of the world

12:16And an annual growth rate of more than 5%
12:20Directly benefiting its nearly 25 million residents
12:25This development is not only economic and it also translates in improvements in social welfare
12:34As housing, transportation and health
12:37Ensuring the growth has a real impact on people's life
12:42Taking together, these policies demonstrate how Shanghai combines economic development, innovation and social welfare
12:52In line with the government's national plans and the vision of the Communist Party of China
13:00With this news from here, Shanghai, we go back with you in the studios
13:07In New York's LaGuardia Airport, a collision has been reported between an airplane and a vehicle
13:13The Federal Aviation Administration issued a ground stop for the airport late on Sunday night
13:17Following the collision between the Air Canada Express plane and an airport firetruck
13:21And said there was a high likelihood the order would be extended
13:25LaGuardia reported that the plane was coming in from Montreal
13:28And landed and was slowing down when it collided with the vehicle from the Port Authority of New York
13:33And New Jersey which runs the airport
13:35The plane with around 100 people on board suffered extensive damage
13:39Although a total of the injury has not been confirmed
13:49And in Lynn, Massachusetts, organizers held the city's largest anti-ice protest
13:54Denouncing arrests of non-criminal immigrants and minors
13:57While building community networks to protect families and spread awareness of their rights
14:03Journalist Mitch Gaines has the story
14:07I'm here in Lynn, Massachusetts, about a half hour outside of the city of Boston
14:11With one of the highest immigrant populations in the entire Northeastern United States
14:15Organizers here are staging what they say is the largest anti-ice demonstration in the city's history
14:27Immigration took my brother in front of my children's school
14:30Donde estudian mis hijos?
14:33ICE has certainly been on our streets
14:35They've been at our courthouse
14:37I've witnessed cars pulled over on the side of the road
14:40Fathers with their children in the car
14:42You know, they've taken them right away from their kids
14:46The moment that we are in right now
14:48Is a crisis of our families being separated
14:52Of our families and our communities being broken apart
14:55Of our people being criminalized
14:57Because we know in this country that when we criminalize people
15:00We can take away their rights
15:01ISIS aggressively ramped up their operations under the urging of President Trump
15:04With captured quarters leading to a significant increase in arrest of non-criminals and minors
15:09Over 3,000 arrests have been made in just Massachusetts
15:11Here in 2025 and the early part of 2026
15:14With 46 to 60% of those detained having no criminal convictions or pending charges
15:19We love this country
15:21We love it
15:23And they say that we only come to do harm
15:28But no, we come to bring improvement for ourselves
15:32We are here together to stand
15:35We are not here, we do not welcome ICE
15:37And we are not here for mass deportation
15:42Organizers in Linn have looked at Minneapolis for inspiration
15:45Where a heavily militarized ICE operation
15:47And ICE murders of two U.S. citizens
15:49Has sparked massive community resistance
15:51Ultimately leading the Trump administration to pull back
15:53They say community organizing developed out of the 2020 George Floyd Rebellion
15:57Which helped prepare them to defend their neighbors
15:59Thank you ladies and gentlemen
16:01The city of Linn
16:04Organizers in Linn are following suit
16:06They've distributed hundreds of whistles for neighbors to alert one another of ICE's presence
16:10And invited attendees at today's event to join their ICE Watch WhatsApp group chat
16:15What we learned from talking to union members out in Minneapolis
16:18Is that they had set up these verifier networks, mutual aid networks
16:23You know, the lessons that we learned from that is organizing beforehand is the key to that
16:27And having those networks already there, the phone trees already there
16:30For if ICE is banging on our doors
16:33We know that we have enough people that we can make serious interventions to get them out of our community
16:37Y cuando miramos en el WhatsApp
16:39When we see it in the WhatsApp
16:41We blow the whistles
16:42Subimos el pito, right?
16:44So check the WhatsApp
16:47There it is
16:50When verifiers with Luce go out into the streets
16:53They are knocking on doors to also tell people about their rights
16:58Because a lot of what's happening right now is because people are scared
17:02But we know it's actually when we're together like this
17:04When we're a community
17:05When I can look at my neighbor and know who they are
17:07That is actually when we are the safest
17:09And we are the ones who keep each other safe
17:11Make ICE out on the air
17:13Make ICE out on the air
17:14Mitch Gaines, Telesaur English, Lynn, Massachusetts
17:31In Cuba, the electrical power grid has been reconnected through the national territory
17:35According to Cuba's electrical union, as of 9.53 p.m. local time
17:39The electricity has been restored from Pinal del Rio to Guantanamo
17:42Previously, all the western and central provinces of the country had already been connected since Sunday afternoon
17:49As authorities were working towards restoring power in the provinces of Granma and Guantanamo in the east
17:54Let's recall that on Saturday, the national power grid suffered disconnection across the country
17:59Amid an energy crisis fueled by the U.S. oil blockade imposed on the island
18:09Social organizations in Brazil perturbed the resistance of the Cuban Revolution
18:14And launched solidity campaigns in response to the illegal blockade imposed by the United States against the island
18:19The tribute took place at the Luis Carlos Prestes Memorial Museum in Porto Alegre
18:24Where fundraising campaigns are also being conducted to purchase supplies such as solar panels
18:29To reduce reliance on oil for energy
18:31These protests took place throughout the week in different regions of the country
18:35In addition, the associations are highlighting the need for the Lula da Silva government to send oil to Cuba
18:40An issue that remains under discussion
18:51In the Greek city of Athens on Sunday, locals gathered in Eleptherias Park for the Solidarity Rally and Concert Hands
18:58of Cuba
18:58Held in support of Havana as it faces severe electricity and food shortages amidst the intensification of the U.S.
19:04blockade
19:04Holding banners and signs condemning war alongside Cuban flags, participants denounced Trump's administration's aggressiveness and its asphyxiation politics towards the
19:15Caribbean island
19:15The rally comes after Washington moved to curb crude shipments to Cuba, including by pressuring third countries
19:21Present at the demonstration was Cuba's ambassador to Greece, Aramis Fuente
19:25Who assured that the nation and its people are given an important struggle against U.S. imperialism
19:37In the news, over 7 million voters in Bolivia were called to the polls to elect the country's new regional
19:43representatives
19:43Polling stations opened nationwide at 8 a.m. local time this Sunday, enabling millions of Bolivians to participate in the
19:50democratic process
19:51During the election, nine governors, more than 330 mayors and around 2,000 council members will be elected
19:58The Supreme Electoral Court reminded voters at the start of the day that the only valid document for voting is
20:04the ID card
20:05And that polling stations remain open for eight continuous hours until the last person in line has voted
20:17At this we are from the end of this news brief
