00:59In Argentina, our 14 million citizens in Buenos Aires go to the polls in a high-stakes electoral
01:10process that has been widely regarded as a political barometer for the nation.
01:14The two main political forces go head-to-head in these elections, the Far Right Alliance
01:18Advances and the Peronist Coalition Fuerza Patria.
01:23Those will decide on 46 principal deputies, 18 alternates, 23 principal senators and 15 alternates,
01:30as well as municipal councillors and school board members across the province's 135 municipalities.
01:37The election takes place amid a deepening political and economic crisis at the federal level marked
01:42by skyrocketing inflation, rising unemployment and corruption scandals that have tarnished the
01:48image of Millais administration.
01:56In Brazil, Independence Day is celebrated on September 7th commemorating the moment when
02:01the country declared its independence from the Portuguese colonial empire in 1822.

02:56democracy every day, to denounce social inequality and poverty.
03:06Also popular movements in Brazil mobilized on Sunday to reject the amnesty granted to political
03:10supporters of former President Jair Bolsonaro against U.S. interference.
03:15Brazilians demonstrated under the slogan, No amnesty for Bolsonaro and coup-plotters, in
03:20defense of sovereignty and national democracy.
03:22Rally organizers said only Brazilian citizens can govern their country in allusion to interference
03:27attempts from the White House.
03:29Also on this day, the Popular Movements Coalition demonstrated for the reduction of the six-by-one
03:34working week and the exception of income tax for those who earned up to $923 per month.
03:48The Chileans will make a pilgrimage to pay homage to the victims of the coup attack against President
03:52Salvador Allende in 1973, which started the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet for seventeen
03:57years.
03:58The route will pass through the Plaza de los Eres, the Palacio de Moneda, and will culminate
04:02at the General Cemetery of the capital.
04:04On September 11, commemorative acts, conferences, concerts, and visits to historical sites will
04:09take place with the objective of strengthening and maintaining the historical memory of these

04:16During the Pinochet dictatorship, more than 40,000 crimes against humanity were committed, among
04:20them kidnappings, detentions, tortures, murders, and disappearances, all executed by

04:29A Mexican president, Claudia Sheinbaum, continues her third day of traveling around the country
04:38to share the progress made during her first year in office.
04:41The president led the third day of the transformation moves forward in Coahuila this Sunday, starting
