00:00Slovenia's ruling liberals and opposition right-wing populists were nearly tied, according
00:05to final preliminary results in Sunday's fiercely contested parliamentary election.
00:10With nearly all votes counted, the state election commission announced the center-left freedom
00:16movement, led by incumbent Prime Minister Robert Golub, received 28.5%, slightly ahead
00:23of the right-wing Slovenian Democratic Party, led by former Premier Janis Janca, a supporter

00:33The results signaled a time of political uncertainty in the Central European nation, as none of the
00:40main parties will have a majority in the 90-member parliament.
00:44Speaking after the results were released, Prime Minister Golub claimed victory and expressed
00:49confidence his party would form the next government.
