01:44So I reached out to have a conversation.
01:47On the show, Mary says that Mama chose Mary
01:50as the chosen one to take over the church
01:52and marry Robert Cosby Sr.
01:55That's not true.

01:56But Mary believed that because she was manipulated by Robert.
02:00Rosalind Cazares and Mark feel like Robert Cosby
02:02was a much older man who had a very heavy influence.
02:06Mary was the young, beautiful, 20-something
02:10that got caught up.
02:12She's a victim.
02:13And all the lies that he told
02:14were to maintain the structure of the church
02:17and the finances.
02:19I think that they felt like Robert Cosby
02:21was able to persuade Mary into a new life.
02:25By the way, here's a couple hundred thousand dollars
02:27and it's your birthday.
02:28Here's a brand new BMW to go with.
02:31A much wealthier life.
02:38When my grandmother passed,
02:39my people didn't know what to do.
02:41She was the head of our church.
02:43We believe in a true living God.
02:46So I just got up
02:48and I thought there was something pulling me
02:51that this is what you're supposed to do,
02:53whether people like it, whether they accept it,
02:55whether your mom is okay with it.
02:57I knew I had to do it.
02:59But after Mama's death,
03:01when Mary steps in,
03:02there's a clear shift that happened.
03:05Things turned up a notch.
03:07They started using their position in the church
03:10to chastise members,
03:11lecturing them from the pulpit
03:13in front of the whole congregation.
03:14Thank God, they don't judge all that for you.
03:18Isolation became more frequent.
03:20You can't talk to other members
03:21who left with Rosalind.
03:24Everything just becomes a little bit more intense,
03:26according to members.
03:28That's when Faith Temple starts looking like a cult.

03:39it just started becoming very strange.
03:45They put a camera right in the middle of the church
03:49so they could sit and watch everything that was going on.
03:53There were times when Robert and Mary were out of town
03:56in either her residence in New York
03:58or her residence in Florida.
03:59So Mary had cameras set up.
04:03Mary would watch the people in the service.
04:08She would send a messenger down
04:09and they're giving people messages
04:11that she doesn't like what she feels,
04:13what's wrong with you,
04:15stop thinking you're cute,
04:16you're not cute.
04:18And people would get phone calls
04:19based on what she witnessed over that surveillance.
04:25Mama has done it in the past
04:27and that's going to try to be their little justification.
04:30Mama watched the service
04:31to see who preached
04:32and how well they did
04:33and get encouraged off of it.
04:35Oh, they get beautiful.
04:36That's what that,
04:37it wasn't to keep an eye out on people.
04:47If you wanted to confess at Faith Temple,
04:49you could write a letter.
04:52With Mama,
04:53she may address it with you
04:56at a later time
04:57and she may not.
04:59With Robert and Mary,
05:01they would deal with confessions
05:02a lot of times
05:03by public humiliation.
05:07The confession itself
05:09would be brought out
05:10in front of the entire church.
05:14The tone in their voice
05:15would be anger
05:16and it would be
05:19like getting after your child.
05:20They did something really rotten
05:22and you're just setting them straight.
05:25I remember this one girl
05:27that I love dearly.
05:28She had relations
05:29with somebody else in the church
05:31and Mary came to me
05:33and blurted it out
05:34that this girl had been doing this.
05:36Just the deepest, darkest things
05:38that you would tell somebody,
05:39they're in turn telling people
05:41what's being told to them.
05:43The members became
05:45very, very separate
05:46because after they heard something
05:48that you had confessed,
05:49they might completely avoid you.
05:51They may not even say hi to you.
05:53Pretty soon,
05:54you got to the point
05:55where there was very few people
05:56that you socialized with,
05:58that you talked to,
06:00that you trusted.
06:04I've seen surveillance
06:06and public confession
06:08used by a number
06:10of different cults.
06:11Surveillance is used
06:13in mind control groups
06:14as a device
06:16to gather information
06:17about what members
06:18are talking about
06:20in order to identify
06:21potential problem people.
06:25Public confessions
06:27are used to
06:28not only use
06:30personal information
06:31that people are ashamed of,
06:33but to shame them publicly
06:34to the group
06:35in order to break
06:37their egos down.
06:39It's a message
06:40of fear
06:41as well as control
06:43to all the other members
06:44because you better
06:45stay in line,
06:46otherwise it could happen
06:47to you next.

06:50my first cousin,
06:51his best friend
06:53is terrified.

06:57that she's a cult leader,
06:58that she has them

07:02into allegations
07:03that surfaced

07:05I spoke to Faith Temple
07:06members who laid out
07:07a series of accusations
07:08that depicted
07:09a form of financial abuse.
07:11Some congregation members
07:12were expected
07:13to work for free
07:14for Mary and Robert
07:16to be at the house,
07:17to be their maids,
07:17to do chores for them.
07:19They were expected
07:20to donate their time
07:21and their lives
07:22to the church
07:23and to Mary and Robert.
07:26In early 2000,
07:28before Mikel passed,
07:30I lived with Robert
07:31and Mary
07:32and worked in their home.
07:35Working for Robert
07:36and Mary started
07:37because I started
07:39to accept Mary's position
07:41as Robert's wife
07:42and now First Lady

07:46So in between jobs,

10:44never stopped.

11:14and going,
11:15what?

11:16So at that point,
11:17you had no idea

11:26large amounts like this.

11:37of the church.

11:44a person without a country.
11:46That's how bad it is.

11:48you feel like
11:49God has rejected you.
11:52And then,
11:53when my sister Pat died,
11:55I was informed
11:56that I was not allowed
11:58to come to her funeral services.

12:02one last assault
12:03that they could put on me.

12:11absolutely drive wedges
12:13between family members,
12:15friends.
12:17Not to be able
12:19to go to their funeral
12:21is criminal.
12:25You're not even allowed
12:27to show your last respect
12:29for this person
12:30you've known
12:30your whole life.
12:32My own sister.
12:34I mean,
12:35look how old I am.
12:36And I can't show
12:38my family respect
12:39when they pass away.
12:41It's unbelievable,

12:54the goal is always
12:55to create dependent,
12:57obedient followers.
12:59And so the leadership
13:01does not want allegiance
13:03horizontally to family members,
13:06friends at all.
13:08They want that allegiance
13:10to be vertical to them.
13:12There's a tremendous amount
13:14of interpersonal manipulation
13:16and control.
13:18So if there's a family,
13:20for example,
13:21and one person's questioning
13:22and not wanting
13:24to just blindly obey,
13:25they will often segregate
13:27they will often segregate
13:28that person,
13:28punish them,
13:30and threaten the other people
13:32to get that person
13:33in line or else.
13:36It breaks down
13:37the normal relations,
13:40emotional ties
13:42of a family.
13:46in Fay Temple
13:48under Robert and Mary,
13:49you destroy your family
13:51to put Robert and Mary
13:52first.
13:54I was extremely close
13:56to Mary
13:57for a good 10 years.

14:06invited me
14:07on a trip with them

14:10When we were at the hotel,

14:13were out on this balcony
14:14just looking at the ocean.

14:24and just how beautiful it was.

14:37and she brings up
14:38when we were
14:39on the balcony,
14:39she said it was like
14:40she wasn't even there
14:41and it was like
14:43I wanted her life.
14:44That means I want
14:44her husband too
14:45because I want all of it
14:46and I was just,
14:48I was shocked.

14:50husband's grandfather.

14:52I looked at him
14:53but I did love him

15:19my real counseling
15:20sessions began.
15:22They would refer
15:23to jealousy
15:24and be in lust
15:26as Satan's trade
15:28and so you had
15:29to work on yourself
15:30to get rid of those.
15:32Robert would say
15:33do you love me
15:34or are you in love
15:35with me?
15:35And so I'd say
15:36of course I love you.
15:37You're my bishop
15:38but no I'm not
15:39in love with you.

15:42you're getting
15:42your love confused
15:43because you're
15:44in love with me.
15:47I trusted Robert
15:48and so I was
15:50asking God
15:51I said
15:51you know
15:52Lord help me
15:52see if I'm
15:53doing something
15:54that I don't realize.
15:58Mind control cults
15:59use gaslighting
16:01to disorient people
16:03from having confidence
16:04in their perceptions
16:06and their beliefs
16:07and their experiences.

16:11can say something
16:12one minute
16:13and an hour later
16:14say I never saw
16:15that confidently
16:18and for the person
16:19who thinks
16:20that's a person
16:20of God
16:21he couldn't lie
16:23so there must be
16:24something wrong
16:25with me.
16:26The problem is
16:26always with the member
16:27never with the leader.
16:36There was plenty
16:37of times
16:37where I was
16:38close to leaving
16:39and the next thing
16:40you know
16:40there was a lot
16:41of you know
16:42dropping of love
16:44bombs.
16:44it was as if
16:45they could tell
16:46they needed to like
16:48show me love again
16:49and give me hope
16:50spiritually
16:51and all of that
16:52and I kept making
16:54excuses for them
16:55but then
16:59things with Robert
17:00got more frequent
17:01and more intense.
17:04I'm getting phone calls
17:06and text messages
17:07to come up to the house
17:08and it just got
17:09to where it was
17:10almost every day.
17:12I mean
17:12there was fear
17:13literal fear.
17:18Mary and Robert
17:19would text me
17:20regularly at work
17:21and if you don't
17:21answer right
17:22when they call
17:23or respond to a text
17:24within minutes
17:25then you're gonna get
17:26a flow of text messages.
17:28Roberts would say
17:29stuff like
17:29oh now you're ignoring me
17:30or I know you're not
17:32in a meeting
17:32you better call me back
17:34young lady
17:36and Mary's would just
17:37rant
17:38how horrible I am
17:39and how I'm the worst
17:40friend ever
17:41and just
17:42all kinds of things.
17:43I'm better than you
17:44if you have something
17:46to say it's better
17:46you say it to my face.
17:48The way Mary treats
17:49people on even housewives
17:51I don't need all the
17:52fake inductions
17:53in my face
17:53to make my face
17:54look like whatever
17:55and I don't need
17:56tummy tucks
17:56and face lifts
17:57and eyebrow lifts

18:52groups can mind
18:53control people
18:54throughout the day
18:56so smartphones
18:57are the ultimate
18:58mind control devices

19:01we shouldn't be
19:02dependent
19:03and obedient
19:04to this device
19:06the people
19:07on the other side
19:08of the device
19:08using it
19:09to influence
19:10our minds.

22:20as this conduit
22:22to salvation.
22:27It was drilled
22:28into congregation
22:29members
22:29that you need
22:30to accept
22:30Mary
22:31as a spokesperson
22:33for God
22:33and the only way
22:35to heaven
22:35is through
22:36the preachings
22:37of Mary.
22:38And so they needed
22:39to also please
22:40Mary and Robert
22:41otherwise
22:42you're going to be
22:43condemned to hell.
22:45There's the love.
22:48Do you all love me?

22:54this whole

22:56and I think
22:56she seen
22:57the writing
22:58on the wall

23:23pop out a socket.

23:27teaching Bible
23:28class
23:29and the power
23:31of God hit
23:31and then I
23:32started reacting.
23:34The next thing
23:35I know
23:36I was in the aisle
23:37with no legs
23:38working.
23:39I looked up
23:40in the pulpit
23:41at them
23:41and they were
23:41laughing at me.
23:43I was just
23:44shocked at the
23:45level of manipulation
23:46that they had
23:47going on.
23:48They condone
23:49Satanism.
23:49Things just
23:50started getting
23:50worse and worse.
23:52Why do you
23:52pretend you
23:53all that?
23:53You know
23:53you ain't.
23:55She's my
23:56pastor
23:56and my sister.
23:58I felt like
23:59this is torture
24:01but this is
24:01what it's going
24:02to take
24:02for me
24:02to get
24:03into heaven.
24:04So it was
24:05just a vicious
24:06cycle of
24:06humiliation.

24:11mental
24:14breakdown.

24:20It became
24:21very hard

24:28not good
24:28enough for
24:29them.
24:30So just
24:30the manipulation
24:31of that
24:32it was
24:33the beginning
24:34of the
24:34decline
24:34for me.

24:36felt like
24:37literally
24:37the devil
24:37was in
24:38the room
24:38just laughing
24:39at me

24:40everything
24:40that you've
24:41done
24:41it was
24:41for not

24:43wasted
24:43your time.

24:45told me
24:46to commit
24:46suicide.

24:50next thing

24:52the Lord

24:53redemption
24:54drop
24:54knife.

24:56words I
24:56could see
24:57the light
24:57and I
24:58heard
24:58something
24:59speak to
24:59me

25:00it's
25:00a cult.

25:04church
25:05being able
25:06to snap
25:07out of
25:08what I
25:08was in
25:09and walk
25:09out of
25:10there
25:10intact
25:11is just
25:11you know
25:12amazing
25:12to me
25:13because
25:13people
25:13don't
25:14get
25:14out.
25:17The whole
25:18notion of
25:19heaven and
25:20hell is
25:20something that's
25:21been around
25:22for a long
25:23time in
25:23Christianity
25:24and other
25:25world religions
25:26but in
25:26mind control
25:27cults it
25:28really is
25:29very
25:30intensified
25:31that only
25:33in this
25:33group can
25:34you go
25:34to heaven.
25:36Unlike
25:37legitimate
25:37churches
25:38the members
25:39are trained
25:40to believe
25:41their leader
25:41is the
25:42gateway
25:43to God.
25:44And those
25:45that follow
25:46are going
25:48with me
25:50to live
25:51with Jesus.
25:52So there's
25:53an enormous
25:54amount of
25:55projection
25:55that people
25:57give to
25:57that person
25:58and they're
25:59trained to
26:00be blindly
26:01obedient and
26:02dependent on
26:03that person.
26:03If you don't
26:05do exactly
26:05what they tell
26:06you you're
26:07disobeying
26:08God and
26:09you risk
26:09your salvation
26:10you're going
26:11to be damned
26:11for eternity.
