00:02Former National Counterterrorism Center Director Joe Kent is now at the center of two developments,
00:08his resignation over the Iran war and an FBI leak probe that sources say began before he stepped
00:15down. Semaphore was first to report the FBI opened a probe months ago into whether Kent
00:21improperly shared classified information. CBS News says the Bureau's criminal division is
00:27handling the case. Kent resigned Tuesday, writing that Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation
00:33and that the war was driven by pressure from Israel and what he called its powerful American
00:39lobby. In an interview with Tucker Carlson, Kent said his concerns were squashed before they reached
00:45the White House. He said key decision makers were blocked from giving President Trump a sanity check
00:50before the war and that there was no intelligence showing Iran was preparing a major surprise attack.
00:57The White House is pushing back. Press Secretary Caroline Levitt called Kent's claims insulting
01:03and laughable and said his resignation letter included false statements.
01:07She also insists Iran did pose an imminent threat.
