00:05Good news for teachers in Trinidad, but bad news for teachers in Tobago.
00:09This is educators in Trinidad can expect their increased salaries effective March month end.
00:15However, there is no word as to when teachers in Tobago will receive their adjustment.
00:21Information reaching Twitter is that the March month end salary
00:26will comprise of the new salary that teachers have been waiting and clamoring for
00:31for the longest while since April of 2025.
00:34However, the teachers and all educators in Tobago will not be received of same salary
00:40because the information from the Ministry of Finance, the Chief Personal Officer,
00:45would have reached the Division of Education and Skills and Innovation
00:49not in the timely manner which it should have,
00:52and as a result of which they will not be able to process for the March month end salary.
00:56So our brothers and sisters in Tobago have to wait yet a longer period of time
01:00to receive what is justly theirs.
01:03Tutors calling on the respective authorities to prioritize this matter
01:06in the interest of equity and fairness.
01:10All our teachers are teachers of one country, Trinidad and Tobago,
01:14and we would want to see our brothers and sisters in receipt of this money in a timely manner.
01:19So we are asking the Ministry of Finance, do what you need to do,
01:22give the Division of Education the necessary personnel, the necessary resources,
01:26double up on your hours, let our teachers in Tobago receive their money in a timely manner.
01:31Let them receive it now.
