00:02Uzbekistan has opened a new cultural and research hub, the Center for Islamic Civilization in Tashkent, bringing together centuries of
00:10Islamic heritage in a single complex.
00:13The project was first announced in 2017 by President Shevkat Mirzuayev at the United Nations General Assembly.
00:51The center spans around 10 hectares and includes exhibition halls, research spaces and a 65-meter-high dome.
00:59Its collections feature manuscripts, artifacts and archival material, including more than 100 handwritten Qurans.
01:07The site also houses a library with more than 45,000 printed works and hundreds of thousands of digital resources
01:25alongside dedicated research and study facilities.
01:29According to organizers, the center is expected to attract 5,000 of visitors each day.
01:37With new facilities for research, exhibitions and public events, the Center for Islamic Civilization is now set to begin its
01:45work with expectations of increased academic activity and visitor interest in the months ahead.
