New Imam al-Bukhari complex opens to host up to 65,000 visitors daily

The site includes a mosque, museum and structured visitor services designed to manage high daily attendance. Accommodation and transport infrastructure have also been developed to support access.

00:01A new memorial complex dedicated to Imam al-Bukhari has been completed in Samarkand, Uzbekistan,
00:08and officially opened by the country's president ahead of Eid.
00:12Imam al-Bukhari is one of the most important scholars in the Islamic world,
00:17known for compiling a collection of harits,
00:19considered the most authoritative source after the Quran.
00:48The complex covers 45 hectares and includes the mausoleum of Imam al-Bukhari,
00:54a central mosque, administrative buildings, and a large Eivant, supported by 154 columns.
01:01Four minerates reach 75 meters in height and the site features 14 domes.
01:06A museum with nine pavilions presents the life and scholarly work of Imam al-Bukhari,
01:12including the process of collecting and recording harits using digital technologies and exhibition space.
01:34A tourist center has been established within the complex.
01:38On a nearby 15 hectare area, hotels and service facilities have been developed to support visitors.
01:45The first Eid al-Fitr prayer was held at the Neum Mosque following the completion of construction.
01:51The complex is now open to pilgrims and visitors.
01:55A place once forgotten is now reborn, as you can see,
01:59transformed into an important architectural and spiritual landmark.
