US president Donald Trump has pledged that energy prices in Ireland will “drop like a rock” after the war with Iran ends.The cost of petrol and diesel, as well as home heating oil, has skyrocketed in Ireland since Strait of Hormuz was blocked by Iran in response to the military attacks by the US and Israel.The Irish government has said it is monitoring the situation before deciding whether it intervenes with targeted supports to help those who are struggling the most with fuel price hikes.
