00:00In today's lesson, I'm going to teach you about there is and there are in the future tense.
00:08We say there will be.
00:11So first, I'm going to show you the difference between there is, there are, and there will be.
00:20We use there is and there are to say that something exists or doesn't exist.
00:28In the present tense, we use there is or there's plus a singular noun.
00:37For example, there is one cake or there's one cake.
00:43And with plural nouns, we use there are, there are two cakes.
00:50Now, if we're talking about the future and we want to talk about how many cakes are at the party
00:59in the future, we say there will be, there will be two cakes.
01:05So in the future tense, we use there will be with singular nouns and plural nouns.
01:14For example, there will be a meeting tomorrow.
01:19And again, with plural nouns, it stays the same.
01:23There will be cupcakes at the party.
01:27Let's look at some more examples with there will be.
01:32Now, you can shorten there will to there'll.
01:37So, there will be or there'll be.
01:43There'll is a contraction for there will.
01:48So, for example, there will be an exam tomorrow or there'll be an exam tomorrow.
01:57There will be four students in the classroom.
02:00There will be four students in the classroom.
02:05There will be blue skies tomorrow.
02:09There'll be vegetarian food at the wedding.
02:14Now, let's look at the negative form of there will be.
02:20We say there won't be.
02:24We do not say there willn't be because willn't is not a word.
02:29You say there won't.
02:31That is the contraction for will not.
02:35So, in the future tense, we use there won't be plus a singular or plural noun.
02:44Or there will not be.
02:47For example, there won't be live music at the club tonight.
02:53There will not be towels at the hotel.
02:58So, we'll have to bring our own.
03:01Again, you can say there will not be or there won't be.
03:08Now, how do we ask questions?
03:11We don't say is there or are there if we're asking about the future.
03:17We say, will there be?
03:20Will there be plus a singular or plural noun.
03:25For example, will there be snacks at the party?
03:30Will there be panda bears at the zoo?
03:35Okay, so now let's practice there will be.
03:40Imagine there is a party tomorrow and these are the things that will be at the party.
