00:00:48It was the 60th of 63 years, the days were numbered, the 7th year of the Hijra.
00:00:56Khaybar is a place located 48 miles from Medina.
00:01:02The day is just like any other day, calm and quiet.
00:01:07But when night falls and the shadows disperse, the people of Khaybar turn Khaybar into a cauldron of discord.
00:01:16A man named Hüseyin puts his hatred into words.
00:01:22Let us attack Medina before Muhammad marches upon us.
00:01:27Since all the people of Mecca are on our side, let's fight him in the middle of his own land.
00:01:36With all our old and new resentment.
00:01:39The idea is accepted, and preparations begin in Khyber.
00:01:47It was 60 out of 63 years.
00:01:52The plan to incite the polytheists and destroy Medina was the last straw, the breaking point of patience.
00:02:02This event was called the Battle of the Trench.
00:02:05The people of Khaybar had sown the wind, and therefore they would reap the whirlwind.
00:02:12A storm is about to break.
00:02:17You know how the companions left Medina.
00:02:23You'll recognize this move from Badr.
00:02:27You know us from Uhud.
00:02:28Each one is like an angel of death.
00:02:32This is Hazrat Ali.
00:02:34He is holding the white banner of the Prophet.
00:02:39Ukkaşe is the vanguard of the army.
00:02:41The commander of the right flank was Hazrat Omar.
00:02:44Leading the charge were 200 privates and 1400 infantrymen.
00:02:51With their horses at full gallop.
00:02:54Then to the Prophet's wife, Umm Salama.
00:02:58The Prophet's aunt, Hazrat Safiya.
00:03:02A total of 20 female companions of the Prophet, with their wings of compassion.
00:03:08This is the army of the Prophet, flowing from Medina towards Sahba.
00:03:15The war slogan is Ya Mansur.
00:03:19O Mansur, emit.
00:03:20A storm is coming.
00:03:24We are in front of Khyber.
00:03:25It's summer.
00:03:27The shadow of the Prophet's horse, Zarib, falls on the bushes.
00:03:32The Prophet has no shadow.
00:03:34The Prophet was under siege for a few days, and Nur Nabi fell ill.
00:03:42Abu Bakr takes the banner.
00:03:45The conquest is not being achieved.
00:03:48Omar takes the banner.
00:03:51The Prophet's banner is passed from hand to hand.
00:03:54But the conquest doesn't happen.
00:03:56The Companions are in a difficult situation in Khaybar.
00:04:00The Companions in the presence of the Prophet.
00:04:04The Prophet is addressing his companions.
00:04:07Tomorrow I will give the banner to such a brave man that...
00:04:10Allah and His Messenger love him.
00:04:14He also loves Allah and His Messenger.
00:04:17He will not return until he has conquered Khaybar.
00:04:21God will achieve victory through his hands.
00:04:26The night seemed endless.
00:04:30Who was that brave man?
00:04:32The noble Companions pondered over things until dawn.
00:04:35Omar ibn al-Khattab says he had never wanted the command as much as he did on that day.
00:04:42Who was that?
00:04:44Look, it's morning now.
00:04:47Companions in front of the headquarters.
00:04:49And a light shines outside the tent.
00:04:53The Messenger of Allah is leaving.
00:04:55Especially Abu Bakr and Omar
00:04:58The Quraysh emigrants extend their hands.
00:05:02Ensar extends his hand.
00:05:05They are all claimants to the banner.
00:05:07The Prophet's gaze is searching for someone.
00:05:10The only thing heard
00:05:12The Prophet's silence.
00:05:14As if they could breathe
00:05:16not birds from their heads
00:05:18Their souls will fly from their chests.
00:05:21And a question falls from those blessed lips.
00:05:24Where is Ali?
00:05:28So that brave man was Ali.
00:05:33Here is Ali
00:05:34He has Zulfiqar in his hand.
00:05:37Starboard
00:05:38White banner
00:05:40Prophet's banner
00:05:42It's in Ali Mürteza's hands.
00:05:47A place in the heart of the storm.
00:05:49Ordinary
00:05:50Khyber
00:05:52And the storm
00:05:53At work.
00:05:57Someone named Hello
00:05:58The greatest warrior of the Khaybar people
00:06:01He swung his sword
00:06:03He challenged Ali.
00:06:05If you have the courage
00:06:06Come and meet me.
00:06:09Before
00:06:10The poets clashed.
00:06:12On the battlefields.
00:06:15Poems would wage war.
00:06:16It was Ali's turn to speak.
00:06:20I am the kind of person who
00:06:22My mother named me Haydar.
00:06:26I am from the depths of the forests
00:06:30I am a roaring lion approaching.
00:06:34And Haydar didn't prolong the conversation.
00:06:37Words were their swords.
00:06:39The first move is hello.
00:06:41Ali parries the sword blow with his shield.
00:06:44And the shield splits in two.
00:06:47And it falls to the ground from the hand of Hazrat Ali.
00:06:51God's lion is defenseless now.
00:06:54Fatima Tüz Zehra's rose is defenseless.
00:06:58The people of Khyber are overjoyed.
00:07:00Merhab is smiling so much that you can see his teeth.
00:07:03The Companions were astonished.
00:07:05The eyes of the Prophet are a sea of tranquility.
00:07:08If he makes one more move, hello.
00:07:12No.
00:07:14No.
00:07:15In the hand of Hazrat Ali
00:07:16There's something emitting sparkles all around.
00:07:21This is Zulfiqar.
00:07:24It traced an arc towards the sky.
00:07:27Then Zulfiqar stopped.
00:07:29He came face to face with the lion of God, hello.
00:07:33The last thing he saw were the piercing eyes of Hazrat Ali.
00:07:40And Zulfiqar descended.
00:07:44First he split his shield in two, then his helmet.
00:07:49That day, the storm was called Hayderi Kerrar.
00:07:59The Prophet Muhammad is touring the battlefield.
00:08:05The wounded and the martyrs.
00:08:08Our Prophet is standing at the head of a martyr's grave.
00:08:14He was shot in the throat with an arrow.
00:08:18This person was a desert Arab.
00:08:22Our Prophet had also set aside a share of the spoils for him.
00:08:27As soon as he received the spoils that were brought to him
00:08:29He came to the prophet.
00:08:33"O Messenger of Allah, what are these?" he asked.
00:08:38When our Prophet said, "These are your share,"
00:08:44"O Messenger of Allah," the man said.
00:08:49I did not become a Muslim in order to acquire these spoils of war.
00:08:53"I said," he said, pointing to his throat with his hand.
00:08:59I converted to Islam so that I could become a martyr, struck by an arrow right here.
00:09:07The Pride of the Universe said to him, if you tell the truth
00:09:11And God has confirmed your words.
00:09:14He was martyred in Khaybar, struck by an arrow in exactly the spot he had described.
00:09:20Our Prophet took off his robe and spread it over himself.
00:09:24and performed the funeral prayer.
00:09:26After the prayer, he offered the following supplication.
00:09:29O God, this servant of yours became a martyr fighting in your path.
00:09:35I bear witness.
00:09:39It was 60 out of 63 years.
00:09:41The days are numbered; it's the 7th year of the Hijra.
00:09:46Medina embraced its lions.
00:09:49Khaybar, however, was disappointed.
00:09:53The wind blew by the command of the Lord.
00:09:58Oh Lord!
00:10:00The earth has been adding suffering to suffering ever since the Golden Age.
00:10:05Oh Lord!
00:10:07Today, humanity is expecting a storm from you.
00:10:23Dear viewers
00:10:26We are halfway through the holy month of Ramadan.
00:10:30Ramadan, like a life, has a limited number of days.
00:10:34And every life has its ups and downs, just like it has its downs.
00:10:40God Almighty says that to whomever He grants a long life, He reverses their natural state.
00:10:48Thirty years of a 60-year life is a return to the past.
00:10:54So, 30 is bigger and more powerful than 20.
00:10:59A 30-year-old is stronger than a 20-year-old.
00:11:03Forty is more mature than thirty, and almost all its limbs have reached their full potential.
00:11:12But 50 isn't as strong as 40.
00:11:16Compared to 50, 60 isn't very strong.
00:11:19Therefore, a regression begins.
00:11:22We have reached the middle of the holy month of Ramadan and
00:11:28Perhaps we'll descend the steps slowly the next day.
00:11:32But it's the complete opposite of a human lifespan.
00:11:36Maybe 16, 17, 18, 19.
00:11:39The coming days will be days that will make us much stronger.
00:11:45Within the holy month of Ramadan, the most blessed of the eleven months
00:11:49The holy month of Ramadan encompasses a night that corresponds to exactly 84 years.
00:11:58I have presented to you the story of the Khaybar storm.
00:12:01A desert Arab, our beloved Prophet
00:12:07He was a shepherd who also tended the Prophet's camels.
00:12:12the spoils of war sent to him on his return from a journey
00:12:18He picked them up and asked, "What are these?"
00:12:20It came to our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
00:12:24Our Lord, these are your spoils.
00:12:27"I sent him," he said.
00:12:30He said, "O Messenger of Allah..."
00:12:35I want to have these, I want to acquire these
00:12:39I am not a Muslim.
00:12:40I have only one problem.
00:12:43I became a Muslim to become a martyr, struck by an arrow, right here, by an arrow.
00:12:51Our beloved Prophet, if you are faithful and truthful in your words
00:12:55"God Almighty will surely confirm your words," he said.
00:12:59And on the battlefield in Khaybar, after the battle was over
00:13:03Our beloved Prophet saw him among the martyrs.
00:13:07What a person expects in this world is essentially what they pursue.
00:13:12And if it is true and truly believed
00:13:17if he/she is after something
00:13:19God Almighty will surely vindicate that person.
00:13:23In a way, this is the trade of human beings.
00:13:26In other words, it's an exchange that takes place between God and His servant.
00:13:32The servant has a request, a wish, from God Almighty.
00:13:35And if he is serious about this wish, God Almighty will grant it.
00:13:41He accomplishes, He is gracious.
00:13:44He may grant it if He wishes, or He may use it as a test.
00:13:48Sir, if all goes well, we will be there until dawn today.
00:13:53both real trade, the trade that should be.
00:14:01We will discuss it from many angles.
00:14:04And we will embark on a journey through melodies, through music.
00:14:10Along with two very valuable locations.
00:14:13Sir, the Rector of Izmir Katip Çelebi University
00:14:19My esteemed professor Saffet Köse, studio location
00:14:24and Artistic Director of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism
00:14:29Mr. Great Silver, studio location
00:14:32We will walk together until dawn.
00:14:35May Allah grant us the blessings and beauty of this night.
00:14:39May God grant us all the blessings of this pre-dawn meal.
00:14:43Dear professor, welcome.
00:14:45Thank you.
00:14:46Professor Saffet, this is our third Ramadan together.
00:14:49Yes that's true.
00:14:49May God grant you a blessed life.
00:14:51God willing, for all of us.
00:14:53As I said before the program, sir, this is in the garden of Hagia Sophia.
00:14:56We were together again on TRT's "Sahur Blessings" program.
00:15:00Yes.
00:15:00Our platform between Hagia Sophia and Sultanahmet
00:15:03We are hosting this event in the nation this year.
00:15:08When you say so, it flies by so quickly.
00:15:11Yes.
00:15:11Actually, that's what needs to be calculated.
00:15:14Perhaps we need to approach this time with a business mindset.
00:15:19TRUE.
00:15:19Happy Ramadan, teacher.
00:15:21You have honored us with your presence.
00:15:22That's a wonderful honor.
00:15:23Thank you.
00:15:23Mr. Yüce, welcome.
00:15:26It's a pleasure to meet you, sir.
00:15:27I wish you a blessed Ramadan.
00:15:28My contract.
00:15:29Thank you.
00:15:30I told you you have a very original name.
00:15:33I've never heard of it before.
00:15:35I even said this:
00:15:37The name Yücel exists, and it's as if those who gave it wanted their child to become great.
00:15:44But yours was over from the start.
00:15:47He has become exalted and his name has become glorious.
00:15:49May God grant you good health and well-being.
00:15:51Thank you.
00:15:52Thank you.
00:15:55Professor Saffet, in the Quran and hadiths, trade is both permitted and people are encouraged to engage in trade.
00:16:08When we talk about trade, being a merchant, or making money, or owning property, we should mention our master Abdurrahman ibn Af (may Allah be pleased with him) in this regard.
00:16:18We remember.
00:16:21When he migrated to Medina, there was nothing.
00:16:25The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) makes him a brother.
00:16:28So when he divided everything he owned into two halves, saying, "Half is yours,"
00:16:33May the possessions and property be yours, may God bless you.
00:16:38It started with "Give me a rope and show me the way to the market," but...
00:16:44Ultimately, this brings to mind Abdurrahman bin Af, who was the wealthiest Muslim in Mecca and Medina.
00:16:51Dear professor, from what perspective should we, as believers, as people observing Ramadan, view trade?
00:17:01First of all, I wish you a blessed and fruitful pre-dawn meal (sahur).
00:17:07Now, when we look at the Holy Quran and the hadiths of our Prophet...
00:17:13We see that people interpret life through the lens of commerce.
00:17:18This is directly related to the question you just asked.
00:17:23Our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) has a hadith.
00:17:27Leysel gına'an kesel arad velakinel gına gına'an soul.
00:17:31He says that true wealth is not about having an abundance of possessions, but about having a rich heart.
00:17:36To have a rich heart.
00:17:38Now, at this point, we must follow the guidance of the Holy Quran and the Prophet Muhammad.
00:17:44And that's what people should be looking for.
00:17:46Now, the Holy Quran also tells us what constitutes richness of heart.
00:17:50And in the 111th verse of Surah At-Tawbah
00:18:00God has purchased from the believers their lives and their possessions in exchange for Paradise, it is said.
00:18:07So there's a seller and there's a buyer.
00:18:10There is a trade offer.
00:18:11There is a trade offer.
00:18:12The one who sells is God Almighty, and in return, He asks for souls and possessions.
00:18:19And he says that those who choose this option make the most profitable purchase.
00:18:27Then he talks about those who have the opposite view and different preferences.
00:18:33He says that on one side there is faith, and on the other side there is misguidance, deviation.
00:18:41There are those who abandon faith and embrace error and deviation.
00:18:45On one side there is punishment, on the other side there is forgiveness.
00:18:48Some choose punishment over forgiveness; some prefer it.
00:18:53On one side there is faith, on the other side there is ingratitude, disbelief.
00:18:59There are those who give up faith and then take it away.
00:19:01"That's why their trade did not profit," says God Almighty.
00:19:08Therefore, the most valuable trade and the capital derived from it is the capital of faith.
00:19:17That's the main point.
00:19:19Here is a hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
00:19:24Actually, it portrays life wonderfully on a daily basis.
00:19:30There is something our Prophet said at the end of a rather long hadith.
00:19:36They say,
00:19:44This is a hadith that originated from a verse in the Holy Quran.
00:19:54That's what God Almighty says.
00:19:56Those who sell their souls in order to seek God's pleasure.
00:19:59Those who buy God's favor, or those who sell their own desires.
00:20:02That's exactly what our Prophet said.
00:20:03He says,
00:20:04Every morning people leave their homes.
00:20:06Just like we did when we left.
00:20:09And they return home in the evening.
00:20:13When they return in the evening, they either return having sold their souls or having sold themselves to their souls.
00:20:20Those who have sold their souls seek that [unlawful] thing even though Allah has made it lawful for them.
00:20:28They give up their desires and sell them.
00:20:30They seek what is permissible (halal).
00:20:33And then there are things that God has forbidden, He has prohibitions.
00:20:37Those who sell themselves to their desires also accept those forbidden things, leaving those permissible ones aside.
00:20:43Therefore, they too have sold themselves to their own desires.
00:20:45Because, as the verse states, "Indeed, the soul commands [evil] to do evil," the soul incites man to evil.
00:20:53We have our ego within us, and the devil outside of us.
00:20:56And it leads us towards evil.
00:20:58And from there you take whatever is evil, whatever is forbidden, whatever is prohibited.
00:21:04What are you leaving behind?
00:21:05You are abandoning what is permissible.
00:21:06And with that, you return home in the evening.
00:21:09Now, our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) actually continues with this,
00:21:13There was a logical principle, called the principle of correspondence.
00:21:16If when you mention one thing, it is necessarily implied that the other is already understood,
00:21:20He is returning to his senses.
00:21:21For example, when you say school,
00:21:23You don't necessarily need to mention the school, specifically the chairs, desks, and your teacher.
00:21:26They're already there.
00:21:27Now, our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) actually wanted to say something else after this, and Allah knows best.
00:21:32He says, review your actions and behavior throughout the day.
00:21:37When he came home.
00:21:39Have you sold your ego, or have you been sold to your ego?
00:21:43If you have sold your ego, be grateful, give thanks, and continue where you left off the next day.
00:21:52But if he has sold himself to his own desires,
00:21:54You have two options here.
00:21:56First, if you have violated the rights of God,
00:22:00If you have neglected the things that God commanded you,
00:22:04If you have done the things he has forbidden,
00:22:06if you have violated it or,
00:22:08That's when you should repent.
00:22:10If you have violated someone's rights,
00:22:12Leave that servant too,
00:22:13Apologize and ask for forgiveness.
00:22:16This is what the Prophet Husnu said.
00:22:18Therefore, these are the things we do in our daily lives,
00:22:21This is the consequence, the fruit of interpreting our homes primarily through the lens of commerce.
00:22:28Yes.
00:22:28And this has a depth that encompasses life as a whole.
00:22:34There's something important here.
00:22:35There is something that Hazrat Omar (may Allah be pleased with him) said.
00:22:39I think it's very valuable.
00:22:40He says this.
00:22:41He says,
00:22:42Whatever God has forbidden,
00:22:45He has certainly created a halal alternative to it.
00:22:50And He has made the paths to what is permissible easier.
00:22:55Your job is to look for it, he says.
00:22:58Or perhaps it is up to us to seek it out.
00:23:00Here's the thing.
00:23:02Pleasures in halal (permissible) things,
00:23:04flavors in halal foods,
00:23:05Happiness that comes from halal things,
00:23:07Much more lasting than forbidden things.
00:23:10And it has a much more effective characteristic.
00:23:14Because,
00:23:16Human beings are limited by constraints.
00:23:19can satisfy their desires
00:23:21and can meet their needs.
00:23:23That is essentially the essence of forbidden things within boundless possibilities.
00:23:27The hadith states, "Indeed, the line of Allah extends from the boundary to the throne of Duha."
00:23:30God has set limits for you.
00:23:32Don't cross those boundaries.
00:23:34Prohibitions are essentially something that removes boundaries.
00:23:37When you remove the boundaries,
00:23:39satisfy your desires
00:23:41And you cannot meet your needs.
00:23:44Because there are modern studies that have been done on this subject.
00:23:48For example, me,
00:23:50There's a psychologist named Philip Zimbardo.
00:23:53This is one of the greatest psychologists in the world.
00:23:56There's another psychologist named George Simmel.
00:23:58There is something they mention in their works.
00:24:01If people cannot limit themselves,
00:24:06If they cannot limit their needs and pleasures,
00:24:08They have no means of satisfying or meeting these needs.
00:24:12There is such a thing as arousal addiction in humans.
00:24:14Every time you acquire something new, it awakens something new.
00:24:18And the means become the end.
00:24:20And you don't get to enjoy what you've achieved.
00:24:24You start thinking about the other one.
00:24:25And you can't be satisfied.
00:24:27And you leave without enjoying any of it.
00:24:30You're leaving.
00:24:31That's just how life is.
00:24:32I'm very sorry, sir.
00:24:35Life, the time that God Almighty has given us, is a capital.
00:24:39And He has bestowed upon us a body so that we can utilize that capital.
00:24:44With this capital, we can either acquire faith or...
00:24:49Or, we could go bankrupt based on superstition.
00:24:55An accounting system is needed here.
00:24:58So, it's about trade, but with an accounting system to keep it afloat, a strong accounting system.
00:25:03This is self-reflection.
00:25:05So, being able to do that within this context is a very difficult thing.
00:25:10It's difficult, of course.
00:25:11So, like this,
00:25:12There is a saying, "El insan harüsna la meamini" (We do not need humankind to fulfill our desires).
00:25:14These are mentioned in our sources.
00:25:17People tend to show an extra interest in things that are forbidden to them.
00:25:22To be more precise, life actually has a certain allure.
00:25:25Now, in fact, you can experience that allure without being captivated by it or understanding what it is,
00:25:34If you can limit yourself by considering that it might bring false happiness, then you are truly being human.
00:25:40Because there are two things that make a person, or a believer, a believer.
00:25:45Firstly, being able to limit one's pleasures and needs through legitimacy.
00:25:52The second is being able to live for someone else.
00:25:54For example, we have characteristics in common with other living things.
00:25:57But these two things are what actually separate us.
00:26:00Our limitations and our ability to consider others.
00:26:04In fact, this is where God Almighty always tests humanity.
00:26:09Human beings are creatures who can exist and live their humanity despite their limitations.
00:26:14When you remove your boundaries, you cease to be human.
00:26:17For example, when God placed Adam and Eve in paradise, why did He tell them not to approach a particular tree?
00:26:24He says he's giving you all of paradise at your disposal.
00:26:27You need to know the limitations of being human, he says.
00:26:30For example, He forbade the Thamud people from eating camels.
00:26:34Why are they banning it?
00:26:35You can slaughter and use other camels.
00:26:37Why can't you touch her?
00:26:39You will know your limits.
00:26:41The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) together with his companions,
00:26:43When they set out from Medina to Mecca for Umrah with the Companions of the Prophet
00:26:48They have a journey that ends with Moses going to Hudaybi, and they are returning, right?
00:26:52When they enter the state of ihram, it is described in verse 94 of Surah Al-Maidah.
00:26:56He says that around them, as stated in the verse...
00:27:00Game animals are appearing.
00:27:03They could reach out and take it, they could drop their spears and seize it.
00:27:07But they can't.
00:27:08Why? Because these are forbidden while in ihram.
00:27:10Why can't you hunt them now?
00:27:12He's asking about an animal you were able to hunt a moment ago.
00:27:14Why can't you hunt? Because you are in ihram (ritual purity).
00:27:16It's drawing its boundaries.
00:27:17You will know your limits.
00:27:18Professor Kıymet, let's continue.
00:27:20Let's continue.
00:27:21If you'll allow me.
00:27:22Please.
00:27:22To the esteemed Mr. Silver, with a moment's pause, sir,
00:27:28And also on music,
00:27:31The greatest instrument is the human voice.
00:27:34They say so, and they actually did say it in one of our programs.
00:27:38Now, is this training of the voice, of speech, also a training of the heart?
00:27:45So, could using these sounds and melodies lead to an improvement in a person's moral character?
00:27:55What do you say about this matter?
00:27:58Actually, sir, the origins of all musical cultures are rooted in religious references.
00:28:03People have always used music to embellish, better understand, and explain their religious practices.
00:28:08This is true not only in our civilization, but in all civilizations.
00:28:11As my professor so aptly put it, but limitations are, of course, very important.
00:28:16Will this just be a simple entertainment device?
00:28:17Or will it truly be a means, a tool, to making us better people?
00:28:23Of course, this is also very much related to how you use it.
00:28:26But in our civilization, music has truly been used in an exceptionally superior way for the upbringing of people.
00:28:33And the points of reference, the reference points in the sense of definition, have always been in this sense.
00:28:37For example, masters teach us definitions of music.
00:28:42And actually, these are all somewhat Western-referenced sources.
00:28:45Actually, we and the regions we can consider further east have some very beautiful definitions of music.
00:28:52I'd like to present a few of them, as I thought they could be used for decoration.
00:28:55Please come in.
00:28:55For example, in parts of India, some Sufi musicians have some very beautiful descriptions.
00:29:02They say that when Prophet Moses encountered the burning tree in the Valley of Tuva, he shuddered, became frightened, and began to flee.
00:29:11But then he heard a voice.
00:29:13Moses, Moses, hear, Moses.
00:29:17It is said, for example, that the word "music" is derived from this word.
00:29:21Or, for example, Farabi has a very good definition.
00:29:23While my teacher was describing the creation process so beautifully, these thoughts came to my mind.
00:29:28Farabi says that God created the universes.
00:29:32All the planets, everything is at a standstill.
00:29:34He said "Be," and the planets, the universe, everything began to rotate.
00:29:38"That's the sound the planets make as they rotate; that's music," he says.
00:29:43So, look, the existence of sound begins with the process of creation.
00:29:48The universe actually has a voice.
00:29:49Yes, exactly.
00:29:50I had read about it in the life of our beloved Prophet.
00:29:54One day he said to his companions, "Do you hear?"
00:29:59May my parents be sacrificed for you, O Messenger of Allah.
00:30:02What?
00:30:02So we don't hear anything.
00:30:05The sound the heavens make as they rotate.
00:30:08Then he said the following.
00:30:10Of course, that's a lot of burden.
00:30:12Of course, that sound will come out.
00:30:14Thanks.
00:30:15I read something like that.
00:30:16This is exactly what our scholars, our Islamic scholars, consider music to be in.
00:30:20Think about it, he's equating it with the creation process.
00:30:23He sees it as a branch of science.
00:30:25I often express this in my speeches as well.
00:30:28For example, Ibn Sina has such a diagnosis.
00:30:31Music is a mathematical, a science, he says.
00:30:33It wasn't really considered a branch of science until the 18th century.
00:30:38This is the perspective from which we need to approach music.
00:30:43to truly refine our souls,
00:30:45We believe we need this as a means to become better people.
00:30:50Limitations are indeed very important.
00:30:52If we were to refer to music, how would you name it?
00:30:55Whichever name your lifestyle accepts,
00:30:58I don't know about that, but I think if we approach it from that angle, we could really gain a significant benefit from it.
00:31:05While I was at home on my way to the program today, I don't know who the artist was?
00:31:10But it's a folk song, performed with a saz (a Turkish stringed instrument), with no lyrics.
00:31:18Yes.
00:31:19Only such a sound accompanies the instrument itself.
00:31:23But can music, without using a single letter, plunge a person into such sadness?
00:31:32Honestly, I came here having already experienced everything before the program.
00:31:36For example, we have a morning melody at the time of the morning call to prayer.
00:31:41Thanks.
00:31:41The call to prayer (Adhan) is recited.
00:31:43It's as if there's only one authority that can awaken a sleeping person with the tenderness of a mother.
00:31:49So actually, this is something we are familiar with.
00:31:54The influence of positions of power on people.
00:31:56Absolutely.
00:31:58That's where voice really matters.
00:31:59As you said, the human voice is the greatest of all instruments.
00:32:02And other instruments emerged through imitation.
00:32:06It's all about imitating that beautiful voice.
00:32:09Therefore, there are also certain categories among the instruments themselves.
00:32:12Instruments that are considered closer to the human voice are held in higher esteem within that group.
00:32:17So I think it would be good if our perspective on music were shaped in this way.
00:32:22So, what's beautiful is that people engage with works that are ancient, filtered through the lens of their time, and truly refine their souls in that sense.
00:32:31There's a well-known saying: music is food for the soul.
00:32:35My esteemed teacher Niyazi Sayın Kutbun's month, Niyazi Sayın, passed away almost 99 years old.
00:32:40He would say the exact opposite.
00:32:42Thank you.
00:32:43He used to say, for example, that music is food for the soul.
00:32:46In terms of encompassing this relationship.
00:32:48I think that's a good description.
00:32:50Yes, that's a very good description.
00:32:51Thanks.
00:32:51I am also familiar with such a definition.
00:32:53Referring to our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) by mentioning the rose among flowers, it is true that the scent of his sweat reminded one of roses.
00:33:05But what sin have the other flowers committed, says the person who said this.
00:33:10Actually, all flowers smell like our Prophet.
00:33:14Including roses.
00:33:16Either music nourishes the soul, or the soul nourishes music.
00:33:19You are also Uğdi.
00:33:22Yes sir.
00:33:23And God willing, dear viewers, in the coming minutes, we will also listen to a performance by Uğdu Taksim during the blessed pre-dawn meal.
00:33:32The esteemed gentlemen will execute it.
00:33:35If you'll allow me, I'd like to say goodbye to my esteemed professor.
00:33:40Professor Safiyet, actually, did I stop or cut it off while you were telling me about it?
00:33:46So, to summarize:
00:33:48So, as we emphasized, a person can only be human within limitations.
00:33:55We had increased the number of examples.
00:33:57For example, God Almighty gives examples of this in different forms in the Holy Quran.
00:34:04For example, he forbade the Israelites from fishing on Saturdays.
00:34:09Why can't you hunt on Saturday?
00:34:11Yes.
00:34:11For example, why can't you catch the same fish on Saturday that you caught on Sunday?
00:34:15What are they doing now?
00:34:16They've been setting up the nets and traps since Friday.
00:34:18They're not interested at all on Saturdays.
00:34:20The fish come and get caught in those nets.
00:34:22For example, they go and pick it up on Sunday.
00:34:23They have a trick like that.
00:34:25This is what I'm trying to say.
00:34:27In other words, God is teaching us that humans can only truly live out their humanity within limitations.
00:34:33There is a lesson we can learn from this, and that lesson is this.
00:34:36As responsible individuals, for example as mothers and fathers, you too will teach your children these boundaries.
00:34:46Children need to be raised within limitations.
00:34:49Children who are unaware of their limitations cannot be happy in life.
00:34:52They are insatiable and can never be happy with anything.
00:34:57They cannot be at peace with themselves.
00:34:59And when they encounter something small, they can't cope with it because they're not at peace with themselves.
00:35:04This is one of the lessons we've learned from this.
00:35:07This is exactly what's important.
00:35:09So, if we were to connect this to trade...
00:35:10So, when it is said in the Quran and in the hadiths of our Prophet that life is nothing but commerce...
00:35:16Only by limiting yourselves to what is permissible, or by remaining within the boundaries set for you, can you truly live out your humanity and be considered human.
00:35:27And that's where your trade becomes profitable.
00:35:31So, we are essentially shopping every day.
00:35:34Yes.
00:35:35We make promises, we receive promises, we demonstrate virtue, and we expect something in return.
00:35:43In reality, it's all about giving and taking.
00:35:47Yes.
00:35:47And how will we make use of the lifespan we've been given?
00:35:50Even though you didn't explicitly give it a name, the boundaries are defined by what is permissible and what is forbidden.
00:35:56Exactly.
00:35:57Human beings are inherently creatures who oscillate between what is permissible and what is forbidden.
00:36:01I find it somewhat similar to this:
00:36:04Now, there is actually a correlation between our life in paradise and our life on Earth.
00:36:11Now, God Almighty has placed our father Adam and our mother Eve in Paradise.
00:36:16He said, "Heaven belongs to you."
00:36:17It means, "You are here for your own good, and you should fulfill whatever tasks have been assigned to you."
00:36:22In other words, enjoy yourself.
00:36:25But he said something there.
00:36:27He said, "Beware of this devil."
00:36:29Indeed, He is a clear enemy to you.
00:36:31He is an open enemy to you.
00:36:33Because he has a score to settle with you.
00:36:35Yes.
00:36:36He said to his angels, "When our father Adam is created, bow down before him in reverence." And they bowed down.
00:36:43Iblis said, "I created him from earth, I created him from fire; I am better than him."
00:36:46He refused to bow down to her and rebelled, and was banished from eternal mercy.
00:36:50Thereupon, God granted him a respite.
00:36:53"O Lord, grant me some respite and let me struggle with the children of Adam," he said.
00:36:56"God willing, I will grant you a respite," said God.
00:36:57And you will not find most of them grateful.
00:36:59"You won't find me," he said, "but I'll appear before them everywhere."
00:37:02Now, there he said to God, "O Lord, every human being has a weakness."
00:37:08It has one weak point.
00:37:10I'll actually find him.
00:37:11"From there, I will seduce, provoke, and lead them astray," he said.
00:37:14He said that too.
00:37:16But
00:37:21By My glory, I swear that I will surely lead My servants astray.
00:37:25But those who are sincere are an exception.
00:37:28Now he's exploiting people's weaknesses and seducing them.
00:37:32Actually, the first operation was performed by our father Adam on our mother Eve.
00:37:35He found their weak point.
00:37:38This is one of this person's weaknesses.
00:37:40What is that feeling of immortality?
00:37:42He said
00:37:43Because psychologically, humans have certain deeply rooted emotions.
00:37:47The most established of these are
00:37:48That's the feeling of immortality, the feeling of being admired.
00:37:51For example, imagine you're not liked; you'd want to sink into the ground.
00:37:54That's a feeling people have.
00:37:56Now, this feeling of immortality is like that too.
00:37:58Now, our father Adam also whispered a doubt to our mother Eve.
00:38:00He said, "If you eat from that tree..."
00:38:02From that forbidden tree
00:38:04You will become immortal.
00:38:05The Quran refers to it as "Shajaratul Khult".
00:38:08The tree of eternity.
00:38:09The tree of immortality.
00:38:10And them
00:38:12Saying "I want what's in your best interest"
00:38:14He instilled a doubt in them.
00:38:16And they went and ate from it.
00:38:19Then, sir
00:38:20Now we need to ask this question or make this observation.
00:38:24So, it means that God Almighty
00:38:25O Adam and Eve
00:38:27Stay as long as you wish in Paradise.
00:38:31It does not contain eternity.
00:38:33It depends on them.
00:38:34Because if they had drunk it, the devil wouldn't have been able to deceive them with the promise of immortality.
00:38:39He couldn't fool them.
00:38:40But what happened in the end?
00:38:42They realized they had made a mistake.
00:38:45Because they lost their clothes.
00:38:48So, when it opens.
00:38:49They realized they had made a mistake.
00:38:51They will repent.
00:38:51They don't know.
00:38:52Our Lord taught them how to repent.
00:38:55And then they repented.
00:38:57Their repentance was accepted.
00:38:57But God Almighty said
00:38:58Now come down to earth.
00:39:00There is a little bit there
00:39:01He continues this struggle there.
00:39:03Now we have come to Earth.
00:39:04He's telling us the same thing.
00:39:05He says
00:39:06On Earth
00:39:08I have placed the earth at your disposal.
00:39:10The heavens, the earth, the seas, the lands, everything
00:39:13It belongs to you.
00:39:15But
00:39:15There are forbidden trees all around you.
00:39:19Pay attention to them.
00:39:20Their fruit is poisonous.
00:39:22You will be like your father Adam and your mother Eve.
00:39:24What are they?
00:39:25These are things forbidden by God.
00:39:26They are forbidden.
00:39:28And now the same thing is continuing in this world.
00:39:31For that reason
00:39:32Those are the boundaries that have been drawn for us.
00:39:35It is about permissible things.
00:39:38Eat and drink, as commanded by God Almighty.
00:39:39I gave the sea to your command.
00:39:41I gave the land to your command.
00:39:42etc.
00:39:43And there, they find those permissible things.
00:39:45To continue living through them.
00:39:48And indeed
00:39:49Forbidden things
00:39:50It is also contrary to the human body.
00:39:52In other words, it has no benefit to the human body.
00:39:54And it also has a side that doesn't make people happy.
00:39:57But it also has an appealing side.
00:40:00It has an appealing side to it.
00:40:01Because it's a test.
00:40:02Of course, it's appealing.
00:40:03That's why, you know...
00:40:05Whatever is forbidden
00:40:06That person is attractive.
00:40:07He's taking a picture.
00:40:08This is exactly the point.
00:40:10This is self-discipline.
00:40:11That's what's important.
00:40:14That's what I'm trying to say.
00:40:17We have a delicious soul within us
00:40:18As long as there are sons of bitches outside of us
00:40:20We are
00:40:23We are being tested by Him.
00:40:25We are in the fight.
00:40:26We are being tested until our last breath.
00:40:27Until the very last breath.
00:40:28We need to stay vigilant for him.
00:40:30As you ordered.
00:40:31We need to constantly keep track of our own conscience.
00:40:34That's when
00:40:35We're making a profitable deal.
00:40:37My dear teacher
00:40:38There is also another point of view.
00:40:41In a moment
00:40:42To the Glorious Quran
00:40:43Hopefully we will listen to a recitation.
00:40:46Our father Adam
00:40:47Prophet Adam (peace be upon him)
00:40:49He didn't recognize the lie.
00:40:52This is the first time
00:40:53Why does Satan hear?
00:40:56Actually
00:40:57By nature, Allah Almighty
00:40:59He is introducing lies to humankind.
00:41:01But
00:41:02Today, whether it's Müslüm or not...
00:41:04Whether they are non-Muslims
00:41:05Humans lie very quickly.
00:41:08It's bleeding.
00:41:08Because it is in its nature
00:41:10There are normally no lies.
00:41:12Isn't that right, sir?
00:41:12Of course.
00:41:13It is gilded and decorated.
00:41:15Inside which she decorated
00:41:16Because it was decorated
00:41:17That's where its appeal comes in.
00:41:19I
00:41:20The Prophet Muhammad
00:41:21There is a hadith (prophetic saying) related to this topic.
00:41:23That's a really interesting hadith.
00:41:25He says the following.
00:41:26Iyye eküm velli kezbe
00:41:27Fe innel kerebe mücanibün lil iman
00:41:29Avoid lying.
00:41:31Because faith and lies cannot coexist, he says.
00:41:33Our Prophet.
00:41:34So this is what he's trying to say, actually.
00:41:36Yes.
00:41:37Lying is unbecoming of a believer.
00:41:40Lying is unbecoming of a believer.
00:41:42Yes.
00:41:43So, a believer can commit a sin.
00:41:45He acts according to his own desires.
00:41:47These are deeds that follow the devil.
00:41:48Lie.
00:41:48A Muslim does not lie.
00:41:50Thank you very much, dear professor.
00:41:53We will continue, God willing.
00:41:55We will have a commercial break after the recitation of the Holy Quran.
00:41:58Then we will continue with Mr. Yüce.
00:42:01And God willing, that division...
00:42:04Uğut taksim.
00:42:05We recently had an artist friend.
00:42:08He expressed someone's opinion.
00:42:10A person who doesn't love the sound of the oud lacks compassion.
00:42:15So, it's about humanity.
00:42:17Now we will conduct an experiment, dear professor.
00:42:20Here you go.
00:42:21Dear viewers.
00:42:22Now it's time for the over-the-top sheriff.
00:42:25We will listen to the Glorious Quran.

00:48:59صَدَقَ اللَّهُ الْعَظِيمُ
00:49:26صَدَقَ اللَّهُ الْعَظِيمُ
00:50:08You said it was mostly improvisation.
00:50:11For me, it evokes the most beautiful moments of the past.
00:50:17I remembered my mother and father.
00:50:21This is the house where I grew up, where I spent my childhood, a house with a stove, the stove is burning, the house is warm, my mother is here, my father is here, my siblings are here, and one
00:50:32It was like a voice coming from the radio on the floor, reminding me of those days.
00:50:38Thank you very much now.
00:50:41Dear viewers, our program about the blessings of the pre-dawn meal continues.
00:50:45And my very esteemed professor, Saffet Köse, is the rector of Izmir Katip Çelebi University.
00:50:53And just a moment ago, we listened to a piece, I apologize, a Uğut Taksim, and a very beautiful piece, an improvised piece.
00:51:03From Mr. Yüce Gümüş, Artistic Director of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
00:51:08Now, sir, let me ask you a question.
00:51:14So, in the dervish lodge, these hymns, eulogies, and supplications are practically indispensable.
00:51:24So, is this some kind of self-discipline being taught in the dervish lodge?
00:51:33Yes.
00:51:33When those people who are regulars at the tekke, his disciples, come here, what kind of impact should these things have on them?
00:51:45What are the thoughts and ideas?
00:51:46Thank you. Sir, in Sufi lodges, the space itself is very important, and the different sections of the space are very important.
00:51:53For example, it's called the Holy Square.
00:51:55It is actually the place where the main religious practices continue, and there is a definition here.
00:52:00It's related to the events that took place in the Square.
00:52:03For example, they say it's a place where the love and affection for Allah and His Messenger are cultivated.
00:52:07The most beautiful dynamic that has accompanied this education, this stage of learning, in the dervish lodges has always been music and poetry.
00:52:15People have been guided in this way.
00:52:18Because music, words, and sound possess a power and might that appeals to everyone, regardless of their interests or concerns.
00:52:27I'm talking about its appeal; that's what I mean by this power.
00:52:31In that sense, music has been used as a very serious means of education.
00:52:35I mentioned this briefly in the first chapter as well.
00:52:37It's about our music being an educational tool.
00:52:39These Sufi lodges have been the finest examples of how our ancestors and civilization practiced this.
00:52:46People come and there's a kind of transmission that we call "meşk," it might be a more technical detail, but these are a bit like meşk.
00:52:54It is transmitted through a method we call [name of method].
00:52:57And this practice has a repetitive aspect that is perfectly in line with human nature.
00:53:03This is how the love of Allah and His Messenger is always the primary element, expressed through hymns, speeches, and melodies and voices.
00:53:13We can say this has happened.
00:53:14For example, that is also very important.
00:53:16They call it "lokma" in the dervish lodges; food culture is very important in these lodges.
00:53:20Actually, I think it's an illusion, as if these monasteries were impossible places where people came together and where humility was present in spirit and behavior.
00:53:31TRUE.
00:53:32But for example, I think the best food was eaten at the dervish lodge.
00:53:35They say "those who wait at the monastery get to eat soup," but no, I think we shouldn't restrict it that much.
00:53:41In that sense, every element that is good for human nature was experienced at its highest level there.
00:53:46But as I said, there might be some modesty involved in its implementation.
00:53:50Or is it not possible for a person to mention and remember Allah and His Messenger and receive instruction on this matter there, within the limits of available means?
00:53:59The best has been presented.
00:54:00One of these methods is the transmission of this through music.
00:54:05Professor Saffet said that one should know their limits.
00:54:09Yes.
00:54:10And we discussed this in terms of what is forbidden and what is permissible.
00:54:13And I said, "Teacher, even forbidden things are surrounded by very attractive things."
00:54:19So, the things we see on the road to hell have some appealing aspects.
00:54:25But the real allure lies in what is permissible (halal).
00:54:29But only the soul can feel it.
00:54:31Presumably, Sufi lodges are also considered a part of worship, an act of worship.
00:54:39And it is through that spirit, that environment, that atmosphere that the true taste of halal is actually experienced.
00:54:47In other words, it is expected that a dervish will fulfill all the religious obligations completely and without fail.
00:54:52So, we believe that the transmission and training through music is not something that replaces the main form of worship.
00:54:58Something that adorns the main worship, something that comes upon it.
00:55:01I would also like to add something regarding this line between halal and haram.
00:55:04Here you go.
00:55:05As we know, it's necessary to maintain this balance in everything.
00:55:10If music is used in a way that leads people astray, then yes, its permissibility can be questioned.
00:55:16But as I mentioned earlier, it is in these places, systematically established by our ancestors, and used in this manner that...
00:55:23I think it wouldn't be very conscientious to declare music haram (forbidden in Islam).
00:55:28Those kinds of arguments happen, you know.
00:55:30Yes, absolutely. But I want to emphasize that the most important thing is fulfilling the fundamental religious principles.
00:55:36In other words, it is about following the path and religious life prescribed by Sharia law.
00:55:41It should never replace it. It should be an addition to it.
00:55:44So imagine that you, as someone who already aspires to this, want to further enhance your life in this sense, to broaden your world of worship.
00:55:52You want to increase it too.
00:55:54In fact, there's something often said in this civilization and culture, for example, that religious discussions are not held in a dervish lodge.
00:56:00It is expected that a dervish would come there already knowing this.
00:56:04So, shouldn't people who know all this, once they arrive there, embellish it with poetry, words, and music?
00:56:11These are the dynamics that help them grasp things more quickly.
00:56:15Which also includes a certain level.
00:56:19So, essentially, it's about a person who has reached a certain level of knowledge developing their expertise further by embellishing it with a different discipline.
00:56:28So these dervish lodges, these institutions that have come down as a culture, are actually delicate craftsmanship for the soul.
00:56:41May God Almighty protect our homeland and our nation.
00:56:44Amine.
00:56:46Disasters are happening.
00:56:47After that, the only thing that comes to mind is: are the columns sturdy, are the beams sturdy, is the foundation sturdy?
00:56:55These are the priorities now.
00:56:57Then the exterior facade is constructed.
00:56:59But then, a delicate craftsmanship begins inside the house.
00:57:04Now, I think that since the dervish lodge was more focused on fine craftsmanship, that is, on embellishing the soul, the foundations, columns, beams, etc., were the focus before we even got to that point.
00:57:17It needs to be sturdy.
00:57:18Thanks.
00:57:19We could actually call it a specialized field.
00:57:21For those who want more.
00:57:23Because it goes back to our Prophet Ali (peace be upon him).
00:57:26They want more from the Messenger of Allah, and in fact, they want the Prophet to instill certain things in them and their family, and those who are dervishes...
00:57:35And so, by following the path of our master Ali and our master Abu Bakr.
00:57:39So, essentially, we can say that it means following in the footsteps of our elders who demanded a little more.
00:57:45Thank you very much.
00:57:46Thanks.
00:57:47Professor Saffet, we are focusing on earning a halal (permissible) income.
00:57:53Does this simply mean that the issue is about staying away from what is halal (permissible) and haram (forbidden)?
00:58:01Also, the word "Tayyip" appears in the Holy Quran.
00:58:05What kind of concept does this create in our lives?
00:58:10How should we understand it?
00:58:11Actually, there is a hadith of our Prophet.
00:58:16This serves as a preliminary statement, laying the groundwork for these verses.
00:58:25The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Talebul helali feridatun badel ferida" (Seeking lawful sustenance is a new beginning after the new beginning).
00:58:29Seeking what is halal (permissible in Islam) is an obligation upon obligation.
00:58:32There's a nuance there.
00:58:36In the Quran, all prophets, all believers, and all people are addressed.
00:58:43They are ordered to eat halal Tayyipat.
00:58:47Halal Tayyipat and this is emphasized.
00:58:50For example, Gâiver rusulü külü minat tayyipat says...
00:58:54O Prophets, eat from the pure (tayyipat) and perform righteous deeds.
00:58:58And again, [saying] to the believers: "Eat of the good things that We have provided for you as sustenance."
00:59:10Then, addressing all people, he says, "Eat from what is lawful and pure."
00:59:13Do not follow the footsteps of Satan.
00:59:17So don't do anything mischievous over there.
00:59:19Yes.
00:59:20Now, what is halal and what is Tayyipat doing here?
00:59:24There's a subtlety here.
00:59:25If you pay attention, these verses mention "Tayyipat" in some places, but they don't mention "Halal" (permissible).
00:59:37This leads to the following conclusion.
00:59:40Actually, Tayyipat is a concept that also encompasses halal.
00:59:45But not every halal (permissible) act may apply to Tayyip Erdoğan.
00:59:49So what do these two words, or rather, what do they mean?
00:59:56I did some research on this, I studied it.
00:59:59So, what could this be?
01:00:01I looked at the sources and did a lot of thinking about it.
01:00:03But what might a satisfactory answer be?
01:00:07So, Tayyip is clean, yes, clean.
01:00:09"Helal-ü hoş" is a concept that we have entered into the Turkish language, for example.
01:00:12That's a direct translation.
01:00:13May it be halal and blessed.
01:00:14Yes, halal and hoş (permissible and lawful) is exactly that.
01:00:16Sir, please bring your water and tea, time is running out.
01:00:20Let us begin by saying, "May it be halal and blessed."
01:00:22So what's nice then?
01:00:23I found an equivalent for this in a book.
01:00:26There is a scholar named Abu Baka al-Kefevi.
01:00:29He has a work in which he attempts to determine the meanings of such words in the Quran.
01:00:35It's called El Külliyat.
01:00:36He says something like this there.
01:00:37He says that halal is legitimate according to Islamic jurisprudence.
01:00:40You ask the mufti, "Sir, is it permissible to drink this water or tea?"
01:00:44Judging by its appearance, he will tell you, "Yes, this is permissible."
01:00:48But what you call "Tayyip" is a matter of moral legitimacy.
01:00:52In other words, it's what your conscience tells you is permissible.
01:00:54So, are you satisfied with the work you've done, or not?
01:00:58That's what's decisive, according to you.
01:01:00This is actually a very valuable comment.
01:01:03It's just an opinion, ultimately.
01:01:05But I think it determined many things.
01:01:07Because the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) has a hadith.
01:01:10He says,
01:01:11Istefti kalbek ve neftekel müftün.
01:01:13Even if muftis issue fatwas
01:01:15The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) says, "You should still make your religious ruling based on your conscience."
01:01:19They even have a hadith (prophetic saying) about this.
01:01:21It's related to this again.
01:01:23He says,
01:01:24El ismu ve hake fi sadrik.
01:01:26Sin is that which troubles your conscience.
01:01:31Then the word "El birru" appears.
01:01:33The Birru.
01:01:34It means kindness.
01:01:35It is generally mentioned in the Quran as well.
01:01:37For example, he's praising Ebrar.
01:01:38The Quran praises those who are good.
01:01:40And there it says,
01:01:42What you call kindness,
01:01:43It is what satisfies your conscience.
01:01:46Now,
01:01:47in our daily lives,
01:01:49according to supply and demand balance
01:01:51And we are doing a job within our capabilities.
01:01:54With the work we do,
01:01:55We earn our living.
01:01:57Now, with the work we've done,
01:02:00We are making profits.
01:02:01And we continue to live with it in our lives.
01:02:03Right here, right now,
01:02:05That's the core of the issue.
01:02:07The work you do,
01:02:08Does it sit well with you or not?
01:02:11If there is something that is bothering your conscience,
01:02:13That means there's a problem there.
01:02:14You will need to take this into account.
01:02:16This is what the Prophet Muhammad said.
01:02:18Therefore, this
01:02:19The expression halalen tayyiba,
01:02:21that is, halal and tayyiba,
01:02:23Halal Tayyib.
01:02:24So, it actually comes as an attribute of halal as well.
01:02:26This word Tayyib,
01:02:27It will also be legitimate from a jurisprudential perspective.
01:02:29So that job,
01:02:30whatever its own rules are,
01:02:32whatever the natural rules are,
01:02:32You will act accordingly.
01:02:34And then there's conscience,
01:02:35Your conscience will be clear too.
01:02:36Yes.
01:02:37You'll be satisfied.
01:02:38This is important.
01:02:39Now here,
01:02:40if the man's conscience
01:02:42if it's completely stiff,
01:02:42The Quran also says this.
01:02:45But there are people whose hearts have turned to stone.
01:02:48So there are people who have no conscience.
01:02:50Now then,
01:02:52What is the difference between them?
01:02:53Now, actually, here...
01:02:55There is a concept called "maruf" in the Quran.
01:02:57Maruf.
01:02:57Now,
01:02:58hand is a word of spirit,
01:03:00It means goodness in the Quran.
01:03:02The word "ihsan" exists.
01:03:03That also means kindness.
01:03:04But he's describing how that act of kindness should be done.
01:03:06In other words, to do it beautifully.
01:03:08To add an aesthetic touch,
01:03:10to value it,
01:03:11to add value and do the job properly.
01:03:13This,
01:03:14There is a scholar named Zemahshari.
01:03:16He is one,
01:03:16There is a commentary on the Quran called Al-Kashshaf.
01:03:18What we call interpretive reasoning,
01:03:20our interpretations,
01:03:21It is one of the leading ones.
01:03:24There,
01:03:25There is a verse in the Quran that says, "And [referring to] the Great Ones, and [referring to] the Ones Who are the Bestowers of Wisdom."
01:03:28God Almighty says, "Enter houses through their doors."
01:03:30Houses are entered through their doors, after all.
01:03:31Why does God say this?
01:03:32Like in the pre-Islamic Arabian era,
01:03:34They would enter houses by going behind doors, etc.
01:03:36but when they've brought bad luck to an athlete or something,
01:03:38It's not a verse limited to that.
01:03:40There's something about this that resonates with us today as well.
01:03:42Zemahshari puts forward the following principle.
01:03:44Based on this verse.
01:03:46Houses are entered through their doors, after all.
01:03:47What God wants to tell us here is,
01:03:50God still believes that every matter has its own natural rule.
01:03:55This means do it according to the rules, he says.
01:03:58That is the one we call the well-known one,
01:04:00that society has taken as a measure
01:04:02things that people consider good,
01:04:05whatever they consider to be true,
01:04:07whatever the natural rule of that job is,
01:04:10When you do it according to him, you become well-known in that field,
01:04:13It fits that standard, and a connection can be made with your conscience from there.
01:04:18So this thing I call conscience, actually,
01:04:23It is human common sense.
01:04:24In the business world, one must be the one doing the questioning.
01:04:27He is the judge, the prosecutor, the witness, everything.
01:04:30And it is actually a mechanism by which it judges itself,
01:04:33in the business world.
01:04:34The goal is essentially to keep him awake.
01:04:37For that reason...
01:04:37May God never deprive a person of their conscience.
01:04:40So, don't silence him.
01:04:42The moment he falls silent, the man becomes devilish.
01:04:44That's why Nurettin Topçuk has something very important,
01:04:46I am offering my condolences.
01:04:47He says,
01:04:49Conscience is the voice of God in our hearts, he says.
01:04:51When that voice falls silent, the conscience is cut off, layer upon layer.
01:04:54Look, for example, you see what's happening in the world.
01:04:57Therefore, this thing we call conscience,
01:04:59It is an important measure from a human perspective.
01:05:02Yours,
01:05:03This is the equivalent of that in our Turkish language.
01:05:04It means being satisfied with the work you do.
01:05:06If you're not comfortable with it, there's a problem.
01:05:08You need to review it.
01:05:10Thank you very much, sir.
01:05:12And then there's this one that we commonly use among the public,
01:05:14God is beautiful and loves beauty.
01:05:17Actually, here,
01:05:18God forbid!
01:05:19Among the beings that Allah Almighty created,
01:05:21loving the beautiful things He created,
01:05:23It doesn't imply that one can love other creations.
01:05:27Here, actually,
01:05:28The way God Almighty treats us,
01:05:30creating,
01:05:31to produce a work of art,
01:05:33Just as God Almighty does this beautifully,
01:05:35God Almighty also loves it when such good deeds are done.
01:05:40Therefore, a believer,
01:05:41Whatever he/she does, he/she needs to do it in the best way possible.
01:05:45Now,
01:05:46Mr. Yüce,
01:05:48Me too, to you
01:05:49for example,
01:05:50We talked about that thing,
01:05:52From the call to prayer of Muhammad,
01:05:53in the morning office,
01:05:54There is also an Istanbul-based religious authority.
01:05:57The salaries change.
01:05:58For example, in our city of Erzurum,
01:06:00with the way the call to prayer is read,
01:06:02It's different in Istanbul.
01:06:04There are hymns.
01:06:05Now these are just one of a kind,
01:06:07with a musical ear,
01:06:09Do we need to listen?
01:06:10Or is there some kind of religious hymn in this?
01:06:16Can we say that?
01:06:18In the science of music,
01:06:19There is a concept called the relationship between music and meaning.
01:06:21For example, this falls under the branch we call literary analysis.
01:06:24We again,
01:06:26music forms our identity,
01:06:28great composers,
01:06:29The people who create the music,
01:06:30They paid very close attention to this.
01:06:31At work,
01:06:33for example,
01:06:33In the Quran,
01:06:34According to the meaning of that word,
01:06:36lower the volume,
01:06:37upgrade,
01:06:38There are rules,
01:06:39In the science of recitation, as you know.
01:06:40For example, this:
01:06:41They moved it to the musical venue.
01:06:43The word,
01:06:44with melody,
01:06:45with music,
01:06:47They have made an effort to reflect this, for example.
01:06:49As you have instructed,
01:06:51Or, depending on the times,
01:06:52Or according to its meaning.
01:06:54For example,
01:06:54In Konya,
01:06:56Thursday,
01:06:57not anymore though,
01:06:57transitioning into Friday night,
01:06:58that afternoon,
01:07:01for example,
01:07:01They are reciting the call to prayer in the Nihavet maqam.
01:07:03To create something different,
01:07:05well,
01:07:05To announce the arrival of Friday.
01:07:07It's so beautiful,
01:07:08They've embellished this work by going into detail.
01:07:11At work,
01:07:12As you have said,
01:07:13in terms of refining the soul,
01:07:15in terms of beautifying with those details,
01:07:17Look,
01:07:17They have thought about these things.
01:07:18Well,
01:07:18everyone really does their job,
01:07:19He did an absolutely perfect job.
01:07:21Or the Salah that is recited at certain times,
01:07:25Hüseyin being in his office,
01:07:26until the Karbala incident,
01:07:28It contains a meaning that alludes to something.
01:07:31This is what should be forgotten,
01:07:32truly our identity,
01:07:34It shows that it's starting to disappear.
01:07:36Well,
01:07:37an ancient,
01:07:37We have a musical culture.
01:07:40Yes.
01:07:40And likewise for every nation.
01:07:42Yes.
01:07:43Well,
01:07:43May God Almighty be their helper.
01:07:45May God not give opportunity to the wicked.
01:07:48These days, when Iran is mentioned,
01:07:51Bombs always come to mind,
01:07:53Dead children are coming.
01:07:54For example,
01:07:55Iran too,
01:07:56well,
01:07:56One that came in Persian,
01:07:58They have a musical culture.
01:08:00Sir.
01:08:01Now,
01:08:02of course,
01:08:03And there is another truth.
01:08:04Our children,
01:08:06Our grandchildren now.
01:08:07Now,
01:08:08in this reality in which they live,
01:08:11Actually,
01:08:11the soul,
01:08:12to your ears, which are the gateway to your heart,
01:08:14Anything can enter at any moment.
01:08:16Yes.
01:08:16You are also an educator.
01:08:19Therefore,
01:08:20to today's youth,
01:08:21If you need to say something,
01:08:23this music too,
01:08:25Regarding selectivity,
01:08:26What would you say?
01:08:27Well,
01:08:28When we look at the source of the problem,
01:08:30at work,
01:08:30our music,
01:08:31classical music.
01:08:32And,
01:08:32classical music,
01:08:33You can't just consider it as music.
01:08:35You should also have an understanding of poetry.
01:08:37You also need to have some understanding of architecture.
01:08:40so that they can all emerge together.
01:08:43I often say this:
01:08:44It might sound a bit radical, but...
01:08:48We might not like it.
01:08:48But we need to protect it.
01:08:50We need to give ourselves time to love,
01:08:52We need to make an effort.
01:08:53But as I said,
01:08:55that this is one of our national values,
01:08:57consciously and truly taking ownership,
01:08:59I think it's important.
01:09:00These are the general messages I'm trying to convey.
01:09:02Because,
01:09:02What I said a moment ago,
01:09:03It's not something that has the potential to make things more difficult.
01:09:05No,
01:09:05We fully understand this,
01:09:07to provide a benefit,
01:09:09But this means,
01:09:10I'm not talking about providing a material benefit.
01:09:12In terms of refining and beautifying our souls,
01:09:14I'm talking about a benefit.
01:09:15For him,
01:09:16It needs to involve several disciplines.
01:09:18But to be a good person, one must first...
01:09:20Aren't these necessary?
01:09:21So we need to be intellectual individuals.
01:09:24Today, for example,
01:09:24the field of music,
01:09:25The biggest problem he encountered was this.
01:09:27Only the people who perform,
01:09:29People who cannot describe music,
01:09:31Therefore, your music,
01:09:33Of course, it doesn't have an international reach.
01:09:35Well,
01:09:35our music,
01:09:37in order to be recognized on the international stage,
01:09:40some of ours,
01:09:41unifying,
01:09:42We don't need to conduct studies that we call synthesis.
01:09:44No,
01:09:44our own values,
01:09:46in a good way,
01:09:48confidently,
01:09:49without any feelings of inferiority,
01:09:50of a nature that will not give rise to
01:09:52We need to transfer it.
01:09:53Therefore,
01:09:54already curious about this music,
01:09:55people on a global scale,
01:09:56He will come and call.
01:09:57And what will they encounter, master?
01:09:59They will encounter that meaning.
01:10:01And they will say,
01:10:02Turkish music,
01:10:02music that is part of this geography,
01:10:04This is what actually happens to humans,
01:10:06for something else,
01:10:07It's used and it takes you somewhere else.
01:10:10And a beauty will emerge,
01:10:11It will emerge.
01:10:12Yes.
01:10:13Now,
01:10:13Music is food for the soul.
01:10:15Or let's say it's a cure.
01:10:16Yes.
01:10:17And,
01:10:18Things that heal,
01:10:19well,
01:10:19Those that are considered medicines,
01:10:21Sometimes it hurts.
01:10:23In fact, it is often bitter.
01:10:25Well,
01:10:25Our music,
01:10:26maybe,
01:10:27at first glance,
01:10:29It might be something that is unpleasant to the ego.
01:10:31But nobody,
01:10:32willingly,
01:10:33My time has come,
01:10:34I'll take my medicine right away.
01:10:35He doesn't even say, "Let me just taste it."
01:10:36Yes.
01:10:36Really,
01:10:38our music,
01:10:38Considering it as a medicine,
01:10:41his soul too,
01:10:42Something that can get dirty at any moment.
01:10:44For him,
01:10:46our youth,
01:10:46They should listen very carefully.
01:10:48Thanks.
01:10:49that,
01:10:49May their souls not be defiled.
01:10:50Thanks.
01:10:51This is what I came up with.
01:10:52Also from Professor Safet,
01:10:54Yes,
01:10:54World,
01:10:55capital,
01:10:56The capital given by God Almighty,
01:10:58And as a result,
01:11:00either we gain faith,
01:11:01or we will go astray.
01:11:03For him too,
01:11:05We need to do some self-reflection.
01:11:08Especially,
01:11:09the voice of our conscience,
01:11:11One should know that it is a divine voice.
01:11:13And to God Almighty,
01:11:14Oh Lord,
01:11:15Do not make me one of the heartless.
01:11:16We need to pray.
01:11:18My teacher,
