00:04Ciao a tutti, c'è Joe Neite qui, l'executive producer di nuovo,
00:07e ho avuto un'update di RARE di progressi di Sea of Thieves.
00:11So first I wanted you to give an update around our plans for a weekly patch this week.
00:16Our intention was to get an update out to all of our players,
00:18which contained some of the features that I talked about last week,
00:21but actually we ran into some issues just with an issue
00:26that was affecting some of our PC players on the build internally.
00:29We worked on it and we tried to resolve this issue, we couldn't resolve it in time,
00:33and so our only choices were really do we release this build that has a known issue
00:37that's going to affect a portion of our player base,
00:40or do we hold on this and work on fixing it and then look to release a version of the
00:44game next week instead,
00:45which contains all of those features that I talked about last week.
00:48So we made the choice to go with the latter, so we're not releasing an update to players this week,
00:54but we will be doing so next week.
00:55Alongside that we wanted to talk a little bit about feedback that we got on last week's update.
01:00So last week we released a bunch of new cosmetics to players, which broadly went down really well,
01:05but there was some valid feedback and criticism around a few elements of that.
01:10One was there was a set missing, so we listed it in our build notes,
01:14players were then going around looking for these in all of the shops,
01:16they couldn't find them, which was around the sovereign set.
01:19Like, pretty frustrating again for us that we put something in the build notes that didn't actually make it into
01:23the build,
01:24a bit of kind of cross wires and miscommunication internally on that.
01:28So we're looking at strengthening our kind of process around build notes,
01:31but that has now been added to the game, so in the next update those will be available for players.
01:35Alongside that, there was some feedback that a few of the items weren't visually distinct enough.
01:39And upon reviewing that, we totally agree, so we're going to be removing eight of the offending items from the
01:45shop.
01:47And then finally, a few of the items were priced incorrectly, which I don't know if people were aware of
01:53or not,
01:54but we looked at it and we realized that some of them were actually priced a bit too high.
01:57So we've adjusted those prices.
02:00And for people who have already bought any of those items,
02:03when we adjust the prices and get that into the build itself,
02:07we will then be looking at who has already bought it and refunding the kind of difference in gold to
02:12any of those players via our customer service team.
02:14With next week's build, just wanted to give a little bit more information again around what's coming there.
02:19So public and private matchmaking is the big one,
02:22and that's really going to allow people to choose who they play with, manage their crews much more effectively,
02:28allow you to just play with friends, close out the public slots if you don't want them.
02:31And we're really looking forward to just seeing how that affects people, how people are using it,
02:36and really how it affects the play experience for everyone.
02:38The other ones are hiding your gamer tag underwater, which again is a bit of feedback we've had for a
02:42little while.
02:42I think it's going to be a really great kind of quality of life improvement for just generally when you're
02:46playing the game,
02:47allowing those stealthy, sneaky kind of tactics to really come into play a little bit more.
02:53And something else one of our engineers has just been kind of working on on the side actually,
02:56is around handing each other resources.
02:58We really like the ability now to be able to hand each other bananas if you're low on them,
03:03if someone's got loads, same with words, same with cannonballs.
03:05Just really kind of strengthening that kind of social bond between players.
03:09We've also made some changes to the drop rates.
03:12So as you progress through to the kind of higher levels in Sea of Thieves,
03:17you're going to be seeing far less of the cast away chests,
03:20which has been a big bit of feedback that we've been seeing from players.
03:23So it should feel much more balanced and you should be getting higher rewards
03:26as higher players are kind of doing those higher rank quests.
03:29Alongside that, I wanted to give a bit of an update of just what's going on in the team.
03:33So as I mentioned last week, we've split the team into three different kind of game teams
03:38that are looking after each update.
03:40So there's the Hungering Deep, there's Curse Ails and there's Forsaken Shores.
03:44And so the Hungering Deep team has the shortest lead time of each of those three teams
03:48in terms of the work that they're working and delivering it to players.
03:51But we felt it was important to get something out to players as soon as possible.
03:54So that's our goal for the Hungering Deep is to give you a kind of some new content
03:58and deliver it in a kind of cool, fun, slightly different way to what we've shown before in Sea of
04:03Thieves
04:03with a little bit of kind of light puzzle solving, a little bit of collaboration between players
04:08that's introducing some of these new mechanics to the world.
04:11And it is, you know, like I said last week, it's kind of a medium-sized update
04:15compared to the bigger updates that are going to be coming.
04:17But we really want to test out how does this new way of delivering content to our players work,
04:23take feedback from everyone, kind of see how it lands
04:26and then move on and forward and kind of grow and evolve with our updates coming after that.
04:31So yeah, it's cool. You know, I had a player yesterday.
04:34I'm really excited around this.
04:36Like there's some tuning and balancing and tweaking and stuff we have to do with this.
04:40But yeah, I'm hoping players are really going to enjoy it.
04:42And we plan to release a trailer for that next week.
04:45So yeah, like sometime next week, we'll be releasing a trailer.
04:48We're just finalizing the date right now.
04:50And we will be announcing the date as well.
04:52That's coming in May when we release that trailer.
04:55So something to look forward to for next week.
04:56Once we've released The Hungry and Deep, we really want to move swiftly into that weekly events program.
05:00So there's a lot of work going on on that right now to get everything in place that we need
05:04to for players.
05:06That's going to be super cool.
05:07Again, I've been looking at that with a bunch of the designers,
05:10looking at the work that they're doing, what they're setting up for those weekly events.
05:13I think it's going to be really cool.
05:14I'm really looking forward to playing those out in the world and seeing how those go down.
05:19Aside from that, my focus personally has really been kind of looking beyond the next few kind of major updates
05:26that we've talked about publicly
05:27and really looking at Sea of Thieves for the next year.
05:30What is our strategy?
05:32What are the things that we want to grow and evolve and add?
05:35For example, working closely with our senior design team and really looking at how can we bring all of those
05:39things the design team want to add to the game to all of our players.
05:43It's really cool and exciting to be looking at all of those plans and also kind of challenging to be
05:48going,
05:49how do we go and accomplish all the things that we want to?
05:51But yeah, that's really where my focus is at the moment and it's really exciting.
05:56So I think that's probably it that I had for all of my notes.
05:59But I kind of wanted to end by saying thanks to everyone that's been playing, that's been giving feedback, that's
06:06been sharing their stories.
06:07And these are the things that kind of, you know, they make us tick.
06:10When we see these cool creative stories that players are kind of coming up with in the game,
06:15they're sharing them whether it's on the forums, it's on Reddit or it's on YouTube or on Twitter.
06:21Like, it really just blows us away every time we see something that we just didn't expect players to do.
06:26So yeah, like, thanks so much for the people that are playing and having these amazing moments and stories
06:31and sharing them with the rest of the community.
06:33Like, it's so cool to see.
06:35So yeah, that's my update for this week.
06:38And I will see you again next week, I imagine.
06:41So cheers, thanks very much.
06:47Thank you very much for watching.
