00:00It's not our day again. Disappointing result. What's your assessment of that game?
00:04I don't know why I come out here. Honestly, you can just go back and watch any of the last
00:08three videos of them.
00:10And then you get the exact same thing. It's a carbon copy. It's like deja vu.
00:15We're well in the game. We conceded an awful goal.
00:18OK, I mean, our players are really disappointed because even their players admitted it's a corner for us.
00:23You give the goalkeeper, you shouldn't concede from a goalkeeper.
00:27But if we get the corner, we're not conceding. Richard is a corner then.
00:31You know, the Lionsmen decided to throw the corner.
00:33But we've got to defend that better if we didn't. It's a great snipe by Olly Banks for them.
00:38Great finish. But it was not in the game at that point.
00:41And then we lost our way for five minutes. Then we got back on top.
00:44We stuck a couple of centres ourselves. Started the second half really well.
00:49And then Illy gets a silly booking. And then a calamitous bit of defending by us within a minute.
01:00And the ball's now in at 2-0. And then he's chasing the game.
01:04And you know, Will has been absolutely outstanding. I thought Will and Olly Scott were outstanding today.
01:10And, you know, he makes a mistake. Pitches Bobbley, decides to beat the lad that he's done 15 times today.
01:17And he gets stuck on the left. Illy takes it off. But, you know, at that time we were shot
01:22anywhere at that time, I think.
01:24And it's so disappointing because, you know, we give a good account of ourselves, but we have given a good
01:28account of ourselves.
01:30The last four games we've played, we've lost them all and we've scored one goal.
01:34We're missing chances when we shouldn't. We're not getting the rubber of green.
01:38You know, everything we do is a book and everything they do isn't. Which is bizarre.
01:45But when things are going against it, they go against. And so we've got to work hard.
01:50And, you know, I've said this since day one, you need loads of luck. We had no luck today. They
01:55had a lot of luck today.
01:57And when you get that, you generally get it when you're at the top because you're winning.
02:01Because you're a good team and they are a good team. They're a very good team.
02:04They didn't have to be good today to win the game. That's the frustrating thing.
02:07You know, we've presented them with their opportunities.
02:10And then they could have scored a couple which would have made them score an even more flat than four.
02:15But that's football. And, you know, we've got a knuckle town.
02:17We're in a relegation scrap. I've made no bones about this. Even when we're on that good run.
02:23I've made no bones about that within a relegation scrap. I'm going to fight that way out of it.
02:28And, you know, getting the injuries that we're getting. You know, we've lost another two today to an injury.
02:36You know, so that's disappointing. I'm just going to keep fighting away.
02:43And you championed Will Nightingale's performance. The battle between him and Ollie Pearce was fascinating to watch, quite frankly.
02:51And is that something that was a big part of your pre-game pinning Nightingale onto Pearce?
02:57No, not really. Not really, no. But, you know, the artiality is Dave won.
03:02And Will's been on the losing side. He didn't say it's been on the losing side for Dave.
03:05He's the best player in the pitch by a mile today, Will. For both teams.
03:10But he's lost a game. We can't keep doing this, you know. We can't keep being a plucky loser.
03:16And, you know, we're in the game and then we're not in the game because we give City goals away.
03:21And until we tighten our defence up and we're trying to, you know, is Sam in with that much of
03:26a miss?
03:27You know, possibly. But, you know, we're going to lose him for an international game, Sam, anyway.
03:36So, it's appalling the way we've gone defensively. And it's something that sticks in my throat.
03:42Because teams aren't having to work to score goals against them.
03:46And you mentioned the injuries. I just wanted to ask about Gent Miertholtz. His knee injury looked...
03:55We're not as lucky. We're not as lucky. We're not as lucky as it is.
04:04We're not as lucky enough.
04:07Yeah, fair enough. And just finally, the fixture list has been so harsh in giving us the four, informed, heavy
04:16-hitting teams.
04:17I don't care who you're playing with, but we've got to improve on the way we play.
04:20I've been saying this for the last three weeks. We've got to improve.
04:24We're sloppy in our defendant and we've been punished against it.
04:27Yeah, okay. Well, thanks for joining us, Jamie. We'll see you in the next week.
