00:00Trinidad and Tobago's athletes were part of a workshop as they're heading to the Kyrsta
00:04Games in Grenada in less than three weeks.
00:07Manager of the side Kyuki Melville has high expectations from the Red, White and Black
00:10at the three-day meet.
00:12So we are expecting some great performances this year, over the past year our performance
00:17will have been in the top three and we know that we are going to go out there this year
00:21and ensure that we maintain that promising achievement of being in the top three.
00:26The side has new faces as well as those who are back again in a different age group.
00:31According to Melville, there are some big names in the TNT squad.
00:34We have O'Shea Cummings in the 1500 and 800-meter girls under 17.
00:39We also have the Vincent twins that competed in the multi-events and they brought home gold
00:44in both events for us so we are looking forward to some great performances from those athletes.
00:48As is the case with any sport or team, preparations are crucial.
00:52And how are things shaping up for the Twin Island country?
00:55So the preparation has been going well thus far. We have the relay preparations that
00:59recently took place. We also have a workshop where we are covering the various topics that
01:04are very important for athletes. Safeguarding, anti-doping, call room procedures and over the
01:10upcoming days we have several training sessions that will take place to ensure that the athletes
01:15work together.
01:15In 2025, many supporters were at the Hazely Crawford Stadium with this country hosting the
01:21Kerfta event back then. As such, Melville is hoping fans can support TNT even though it's
01:26being hosted elsewhere.
01:28So we are looking forward to the public viewing online. We know not everyone will be able to make it.
01:34We do have some supporters that will be out there and we are thankful for them to put that energy
01:40and that sacrifice to come out there and support our athletes. But for those who are in Trinidad and
01:45Tobago, we ask that you tune in online.
01:48The Kerfta games run from April 4th to the 6th, which means TNT's athletes leave for the meet on the
01:542nd of that month.
