00:00And it was formed because I recognized that many students had some challenges and difficulties in accessing universities abroad and
00:09outside of the region.
00:11And because I have a very close relationship with many of the universities abroad, it was very easy for them
00:18to reach out to me and extend an invitation.
00:20And that was the genesis of the New York trip.
00:24The students are set to visit several prestigious universities, including Columbia University, as well as a number of cultural sites.
00:34The itinerary also features a special invitation to the United Nations headquarters.
00:40Six to Form student Dominique Williams told TV6 News he is extremely excited about the upcoming trip,
00:47describing it as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience new environments and broaden his horizons.
00:56Not only an opportunity-filled experience, but also something that we can look forward to in terms of globalization, being
01:07able to expand our borders and so on.
01:09While much has been accomplished, there is still an outstanding balance that threatens full participation.
01:16The Signal Hill Secondary School is therefore seeking public support, as any contribution will help make this life-changing experience
01:26a reality for the group.
01:28We are nearing the fruition of this trip.
01:32We are still a bit short.
01:34We were told, for example, that we have to put up the two bus drivers.
01:38We did not anticipate that kind of cost.
01:40So really, this is just a small plea, asking for any persons who are willing to assist to reach out
01:47to the school to see how you can be a part of this journey for our students.
01:52Elizabeth Williams, TV6 News.
