Jonathan Allen Praises Joe Burrow, Jerry Montgomery After Signing With Bengals
Transcript
00:00You know, as a defensive lineman, having the ability to play with a guy like Joe Burrow
00:03in that offense, allowing, you know, they're going to put points up.
00:07You know, we're going to be playing with the lead,
00:08so allowing us as a defense in the defensive line to kind of get after the quarterback
00:12was definitely enticing.
00:13And just the defensive staff that we've had here, Coach Montgomery,
00:16I've known him for 15 years.
00:18I mean, he recruited me out of high school.
00:19So just between, you know, Burrow and the offense and the defensive staff here,
00:25I thought it was just honestly the best fit for me.
00:27Did you and Jerry stayed close the whole time?
00:29Yes, sir.
00:29Yeah, he coached me at the Pro Bowl.
00:31I mean, obviously he was in Green Bay for a while,
00:33so after every game, me and him would always connect like that.
00:35So definitely a guy that I think fondly of.
00:38Any players on this roster that you're –
00:40Not too much.
00:41I'm kind of a loner when it comes to the league.
00:43I'm, you know, just a family guy staying my own lane,
00:46but I'm sure I'm going to get to know everybody, you know, very soon.
00:49We know you as both a run stuffer and a pass rusher.
00:55What do you think is the best part of your game?
00:58It's funny.
00:59Geno Atkins is always a guy that I've liked to look at
01:02just because he's not the biggest guy.
01:04And I think for me it's the ability to play all three downs.
01:08That's something that I've always prided myself on
01:10is to be able to stop the run on first and second down
01:11and affect the quarterback on third down.
01:13So for me, I would just say the ability to play all phases of the game.
01:15What's the thing?
01:15probate the Finch and screwed up to 3.
01:15Bye.
