00:00Credo che a un certo punto, Corrie's relentlessness, un chip over.
00:05It demands respect, è quello che fa.
00:07It demands respect.
00:20Hi, Federico Vascotto, from Italy, for Movie Player.
00:24It's unbelievable how Corrie is able to fall onto his feet every single time.
00:30Do you think the thing that brings together your characters is the fact that they are both survivors in a
00:39way
00:39and they always find a way to rise up from their ashes?
00:43I think that's a great point and one that we've been discussing in discussing this past season
00:50is their shared kind of affection for each other is born out of seeing one another.
00:56And I think part of that seeing is realizing that they're both trying to exploit the best of their potential,
01:03whether or not their moral or ethical codes have any proximity,
01:07and they're willing to put their guts on the line to make it happen.
01:12And that's a, you know, you're not sleepwalking through your life if you're doing that.
01:18And I think Corrie can see, I would have said in the first season he would see a gamer.
01:22He could see a gamer in chip.
01:25And as dubious as chip is of Corrie, I think at a certain point, Corrie's relentlessness, one chip over.
01:33It demands respect is what it does.
01:36Demands respect.
01:36And I think that these guys have been in this business and in pursuit of their goals for long enough
01:41to realize that you can't just have one goal and not compromise that and achieve anything.
01:50You have to be willing to make sacrifices along the way and let your ego be crushed
01:54and be somewhat Machiavellian in your maneuvering.
01:59They both do it differently, but I think they see each other in the same way.
02:03About survivors, what animal do you think better represents your characters, predator or prey?
02:10Wow.
02:12That's so, that is just so great.
02:14I think that Chip has set himself up to be prey
02:17because that means that people will come at him, you know, swords blazing and ready to go.
02:26And when they're doing that, he gets to see their true colors.
02:30So in some ways, by pretending that you are the prey, it's its own version of subtle predation and getting
02:39what you want.
02:40Yeah, I would say Corrie probably looks down on the idea of a predator versus prey zero-sum game.
02:47I think he thinks of himself more as a god looking over with the puppets saying,
02:52I'm going to give you the license to be predator now, but you're actually my prey
02:57until I want this person to be the predator.
03:03He's too philosophically removed from the reality, probably until this season of corporate maneuvering
03:13to care whether or not he's predator or prey.
03:17Your characters, in a way, are the directors of the show,
03:21The Man Behind the Curtain.
03:23In fact, Chip has become a documentary director in this season and Corrie a movie producer.
03:29So playing them helped you in a way to understand better the other side of the camera as actors?
03:37Well, he already understands it very well.
03:39He does all sides of the camera and beyond.
03:41I mean, I would say I run an independent production company with my brother.
03:46I've been producing documentaries for years and things like that.
03:51But there are things that I learned from Chip and playing him.
03:57And, you know, one thing that I sort of took away from this season is despite your best attempts
04:06to remove yourself from stressful situations and try to create a more balanced life,
04:12Chip is out of the newsroom.
04:14He's producing documentaries.
04:15It should be a healthy lifestyle for him.
04:19He just can't help but be himself and throw himself into the scrum because that's where he feels alive.
04:27And I really like that.
04:29You know, I'm someone who deals with, you know, anxiety and mood disorders in my life.
04:33I'm very open about that.
04:34And I sometimes fantasize about what it would be like if I could extract myself.
04:38I think it would be more stressful.
04:40I think actually having a foot in the scrum and being inside of it is important.
04:46And I think that's what Chip's doing.
04:47He can't help himself and he likes being there.
05:10I think that's what Chip's doing.
