00:01:01Why does y'all's voice change so much?
00:01:03I'm Sada, bro.
00:01:03Hey, I'm Dana Beers.
00:01:0530 seconds.
00:01:05What's up, guys?
00:01:07Yeah, yeah.
00:01:08I think, you know, y'all learn this one day.
00:01:11Y'all are far away, but you get kids.
00:01:14One of them gets a stomach bug.
00:01:16The next thing you know, everybody in the house is just, you know, everything.
00:01:21Everything out of, so whatever.
00:01:22I think I may be dealing with it, but guess what?
00:01:25Unlike, Dan, I'm talking to you here.
00:01:28Unlike his generation, I show up.
00:01:31Now, I'm responsible.
00:01:33I sequestered myself in the corner.
00:01:35I'm washing my hands.
00:01:36But I'm not looking for any excuse to get out of work.
00:01:38You know, I show up.
00:01:39So I'm here.
00:01:40I'm ready to grind.
00:01:41I'm ready to get after this Friday show.
00:01:43Am I not here?
00:01:44It's going to be a great Friday show.
00:01:45I just had to talk to the other adults in the room.
00:01:48I'm an adult, dude.
00:01:49You're not.
00:01:51I just feel bad because I feel like.
00:01:53I'm a grown-ass man.
00:01:55I feel like, I feel like, I feel like you and Dana, you were, you were, you were becoming
00:01:58best friends.
00:01:59It was love at first sight.
00:02:03And I feel like, you know, you.
00:02:05Dude, you know, you know, you're leaving him, dude.
00:02:06I don't.
00:02:07You're like, you're leaving him.
00:02:08Don't do this.
00:02:08I don't know, dude.
00:02:09What are you doing for lunch today?
00:02:11Dana's working day.
00:02:12What are you doing?
00:02:13You're going to hang out with CP and go, you know, go get lunch and stuff.
00:02:16Dude, I know.
00:02:17Do me and, are me and Dana maybe going through a little hiccup right now?
00:02:20Sure.
00:02:21All great relationships do.
00:02:22I mean, look, you watch the most recent BBC, guys.
00:02:26Cadick's out here in Tampa hanging out with hot guys.
00:02:28Made a new best friend, Billy.
00:02:31Dana's nowhere to be.
00:02:32It's just, I don't know, dude.
00:02:34You know T-Bob.
00:02:35You young people just, you just, you just go wherever the wind's blowing, don't you?
00:02:39T-Bob, we know, dude.
00:02:40Just wherever the wind's blowing.
00:02:42You have kids.
00:02:43You have a wife.
00:02:43No consistency.
00:02:45You can't do anything anymore.
00:02:46You're, you're jealous that me, I'm a younger stallion, fresh out of college, fresh out of
00:02:53being a way better college football player than you.
00:02:56Oh, not true.
00:02:58And I get to enjoy my life in a new big city.
00:03:02I get to hang out on a great, on a great, what's going on?
00:03:07Oh, I get to hang out on one of the greatest weekends in Chicago, St. Paddy's.
00:03:13But no, go ahead, dude.
00:03:14Keep kneading your dough and folding laundry and, I mean, go to a trampoline park.
00:03:21That's on you, dude.
00:03:22Look, I, I, I.
00:03:23All good, dude.
00:03:23That sounds like a great time.
00:03:25You, you should only hope that one day you could knead dough half as good as I can, okay?
00:03:30Or that you could fold laundry as well as I can.
00:03:33Knead dough as well.
00:03:33Getting a new extension on my KitchenAid at home is like the highlight of a weekend.
00:03:38It's a good, I mean, it is a highlight, okay?
00:03:41All of a sudden you can make your own pasta.
00:03:43Michael.
00:03:43Okay, I, I, I can make my own ravioli.
00:03:45You're lasting out.
00:03:45You're lasting out.
00:03:45I can make my own spaghetti.
00:03:46I, I, I have the spaghetti attachment.
00:03:48I have the fettuccine attachment.
00:03:50He's lasting out.
00:03:51Guess where I'm going this afternoon?
00:03:52Hey, can we take a tea?
00:03:53Guess where I'm going this afternoon?
00:03:54Can we take a tea?
00:03:55I'm going to the tramp park.
00:03:56How about that?
00:03:57I'm going to jump.
00:03:58Can we take a tea?
00:03:59You're going to be drinking beers in the beautiful weather with young, hot people.
00:04:02I'm going to be jumping with kids in the tramp park.
00:04:04Can I have 30?
00:04:05Yeah, yeah.
00:04:06All right.
00:04:06I apologize.
00:04:07Yep.
00:04:07Okay?
00:04:08I apologize.
00:04:09This is my fault.
00:04:10Let's, let's start over.
00:04:11Let's go, boys.
00:04:12It's Friday.
00:04:12Start the show.
00:04:13You're right.
00:04:13Start the show over.
00:04:13It's my fault.
00:04:14Start the show over.
00:04:14Guys, run the intro, run the intro again.
00:04:16Here we go.
00:04:17This is my fault.
00:04:17In the words of Rebecca Black, I'm Friday.
00:04:19Three, two, one, we're live.
00:04:23All right.
00:04:24Here we go.
00:04:26I didn't think they'd actually run the back.
00:04:35Oh my God, what are you doing?
00:04:37Get out of here.
00:04:39That's fun.
00:04:46What's happening, y'all?
00:04:47Welcome in.
00:04:48And this is Wake Up Barstool with the boys, the big boys.
00:04:52That's right.
00:04:53T-Bob Averick, Mike Caden, and Dana Beers hanging out with you today.
00:04:56Hope everybody's having a great weekend.
00:04:58We are set up to have a fantastic weekend.
00:05:01We got a lot to get to.
00:05:02This has been a hell of a week for sports.
00:05:04Just seemingly never ends.
00:05:07Miami of Ohio, the team that everybody loves to talk about.
00:05:10Well, they finally lose in the quarterfinals.
00:05:12We'll get to that.
00:05:13We got a really interesting A block here where we're going to talk some college basketball.
00:05:18We're going to hit on a few stories there.
00:05:20We're going to hit on some NFL stories.
00:05:22We might have had a little WBC.
00:05:24There's a lot to get to today.
00:05:26Boys, how we feeling?
00:05:27So good.
00:05:28So good, dude.
00:05:29So good.
00:05:30So great.
00:05:31It's Friday.
00:05:32Vibes are off.
00:05:33Look how good he looks, dude.
00:05:35Yeah, okay, so...
00:05:35If you guys...
00:05:36Okay, go ahead.
00:05:37No, no, go ahead.
00:05:37I was going to say, if you guys weren't following along on the yak yesterday, my boy here and
00:05:42Green Greg...
00:05:43Green Greg didn't really do anything in the yak off.
00:05:46Greg blew it.
00:05:46They took a 1-0 series start here.
00:05:50Game two is today.
00:05:52So check it out.
00:05:53This guy looks incredible.
00:05:54So at times, this show has been accused of being too inside partstool.
00:05:59And we actually, I think, avoid it pretty much compared to a lot of shows here, you know,
00:06:03because this is its own little weird world.
00:06:05I work here, and I had no idea what was going on yesterday.
00:06:10I mean, there's some other rival podcasts in town.
00:06:13Apparently, there's a beer-drinking seven-game series, and it's all about ownership of the
00:06:19trademark that's baseball, which is a saying that you just say to basically justify anything.
00:06:25You know, hey, that's baseball.
00:06:26That is baseball.
00:06:27That's just ball, guys.
00:06:29So, Dana, you and Home by Three are in a competition here.
00:06:33We are.
00:06:34Game two's tonight.
00:06:35And you won game one.
00:06:36And you will be traveling all the way to where for when you have to hit the road for this
00:06:40series?
00:06:40Scottsdale, Arizona, to drink one beer for game three.
00:06:46There's actual.
00:06:47Four and five.
00:06:48And four and five.
00:06:49There's actual real money going into this, guys.
00:06:52They are flying.
00:06:53We hosted them here.
00:06:54We have custom signage.
00:06:55We hired an up yesterday.
00:06:57Somebody created an entire invention to calculate the best chug.
00:07:03Greatest company in the world.
00:07:04This is why I was sitting up on the balcony yesterday, and I looked over at Danny Lance,
00:07:09and I go, this, like this, stuff like this is why this is the greatest company in the world.
00:07:14It is, man.
00:07:15We hired the Cubs national anthem singer.
00:07:19Yeah.
00:07:19We had a flyover.
00:07:21We had 15 people holding a ginormous American flag, waving it.
00:07:26We had Zach, we had the cream team walking around delivering hot dogs and ice cream out of little mini
00:07:34baseball helmets.
00:07:35It's all for the yug-off, man.
00:07:36It's incredible, man.
00:07:38That's baseball.
00:07:38That is baseball, you know?
00:07:40Baseball.
00:07:41All right, so.
00:07:42Game two today.
00:07:43Speaking of baseball, Miami of Ohio dropping yesterday.
00:07:47What?
00:07:48Baseball.
00:07:48Yeah, it's a joke.
00:07:49Oh.
00:07:50It's just showing that that's baseball.
00:07:51That's all man.
00:07:51That's all man.
00:07:52Yeah, come on, dog.
00:07:53Keep up.
00:07:53Wake up.
00:07:54Hand up.
00:07:54So Miami of Ohio loses to UMass yesterday, 87 to 83.
00:07:59Completely pedestrian UMass team.
00:08:03Obviously, the conversation now, but come should Miami of Ohio still be in?
00:08:06Guys, off air.
00:08:09Off the record.
00:08:10Okay.
00:08:11Don't say it.
00:08:12No, I just don't care about this conversation.
00:08:14Okay.
00:08:14I know I'm supposed to force it.
00:08:16Just put him in the tournament.
00:08:17Right.
00:08:18Right.
00:08:18There's 68 teams.
00:08:19Who cares?
00:08:21It's way too much hand-wringing, way too much pitching.
00:08:23I'm just over it.
00:08:24They just want to talk about it.
00:08:26I think, and I don't know basketball much, Dana.
00:08:29That's fine.
00:08:29And correct me if I'm wrong, but a 31-0 team, you lose one game in a MAAC tournament, you're
00:08:37still in.
00:08:38Of course, yes.
00:08:39And the people who say otherwise are stupid and dumb and idiots, okay?
00:08:44And boneheads.
00:08:45Boneheads.
00:08:46I've been watching this team all year, and they are a tournament team.
00:08:49They don't have the advanced stats or the analytics that you might see in other bubble teams, but they're not
00:08:56a bubble team.
00:08:57They're a tournament team.
00:08:58They've won 31 games.
00:08:59And this was the worst possible thing to happen for all the boneheads that want to keep this conversation going.
00:09:07Because now they're going to say, oh, Auburn should be in.
00:09:1116-loss Auburn should be in.
00:09:13Get out of my face.
00:09:14Yeah.
00:09:15Get out of my face with that BS.
00:09:18Can I say BS?
00:09:19Yeah, you can say BS.
00:09:20Yeah, absolutely.
00:09:21What are you laughing at?
00:09:21It's a funny visual.
00:09:23It's a very funny visual.
00:09:25We're on that.
00:09:27You're making it very serious and well-thought-out point.
00:09:31I love you so much.
00:09:32No, listen, man.
00:09:33The Red Hawks deserve to be in this tournament.
00:09:35It definitely hurts their seating a little bit.
00:09:37I thought they were probably going to be on the 10 line, even if they won the MAAC tournament.
00:09:42Now they're probably, I don't know, 12.
00:09:44But either way, they are a very scrappy team.
00:09:48And the problem now with sports and sports analysis in general is just trying to be the people that have
00:09:55a crazy take.
00:09:57Yeah.
00:09:57Don't have the crazy take.
00:09:58Yeah, look at the Bam Adebayo stuff, dude.
00:10:01Everybody's, yeah.
00:10:02They should be in the tournament no matter what.
00:10:04If you say otherwise, you're overthinking it.
00:10:07Dana, question for you.
00:10:08Yes, Michael.
00:10:09So why can't, like, how does this seating, like, why can't, like, Indiana be, like, a 15?
00:10:14Like, why do you never see them being a 16 seed?
00:10:17Are 16 seeds reserved for, like, a low level?
00:10:20It's a really good question, actually.
00:10:22I think it's, a lot of it has to do with just, like, these teams that you do see in
00:10:26the 16s and 15s just have such awful strengths of schedule.
00:10:31And the teams they play are so below what, like, an Indiana would play in the house.
00:10:34And they're in because they won their conference tournament.
00:10:37Yes.
00:10:37Right?
00:10:37Yeah.
00:10:37Gotcha.
00:10:38Yeah.
00:10:38So in reality, like a, I don't know, let's say.
00:10:45Like, if UMass wins the tournament for the Mac, like, they would get blown out by even just a Indiana.
00:10:54Gotcha.
00:10:54That's the other thing is, like, guess what?
00:10:57Miami of Ohio will probably get blown out.
00:10:59I don't care.
00:11:00I literally don't care.
00:11:02Just put them in.
00:11:04They have the 360-second schedule out of 365 teams.
00:11:08Again, I don't care.
00:11:09It's still very hard to win 31 straight games.
00:11:12This is not the college football playoff.
00:11:14This is not where it's, like, the best.
00:11:16A lot of teams get in here undefeated regular season is where they get in.
00:11:19And you know who agrees?
00:11:20UMass head coach Frank Martin.
00:11:23Let's see what he has to say.
00:11:25It'd be an embarrassment.
00:11:26Should have byrish.
00:11:27A complete embarrassment if this league doesn't get two teams in.
00:11:31This league's too good.
00:11:33I've coached in Conference USA, Big East.
00:11:36Name the league.
00:11:36I've been in it.
00:11:38And the top two teams in this league are as good as anyone in some of those leagues that I
00:11:43just mentioned.
00:11:44And it'd be a complete embarrassment if that doesn't happen.
00:11:48Dude, as football guys, you would love Frank Martin.
00:11:52I already love him.
00:11:53If you saw some clips, he'd get, he screams.
00:11:56He's like Tony Soprano.
00:11:57That guy?
00:11:57No way.
00:11:58Dude, you should see it.
00:12:00He's an embarrassment.
00:12:01You would like him a lot.
00:12:03I'm sure I would.
00:12:04All right, so I know, and look, if you're watching the show, I don't know how my producers feel about
00:12:08how I handled that story.
00:12:09I just had to be honest with the audience.
00:12:11I'm just, again, I think the UMass thing, or the Miami of Ohio thing is kind of cut and dry.
00:12:16You want a fun fact?
00:12:17And let him play.
00:12:18Yeah.
00:12:19I'm banned from UMass.
00:12:20Why?
00:12:21What'd you do?
00:12:22When I was 18, I took a big flag that said UMass Athletics off the wall.
00:12:27And got in trouble.
00:12:29Yeah.
00:12:29Did you put it in your, like, college dorm or something?
00:12:31I was stealing it from my boy, and they were like, dude, you can't do that.
00:12:34Like a big flag?
00:12:35Big.
00:12:36Banner?
00:12:36Banner.
00:12:37Oh.
00:12:38If my dad's watching, I'm sorry.
00:12:40He was really mad at me at the time.
00:12:41I remember my freshman year.
00:12:43Shout out, Mr. Beers.
00:12:44College roommate.
00:12:45Shout out, Josh.
00:12:46When the seventh Harry Potter came out, Deathly Hallows, he stole me, like, three cardboard cutouts of the characters from
00:12:52Barnes & Noble.
00:12:54That's kind of cool.
00:12:54Yeah, it was pretty sick.
00:12:55And at that time?
00:12:56I had Ron Harry and Hermione.
00:12:57I don't know how he did it.
00:12:58He just walked out with him.
00:12:59You had the big three?
00:13:00Yeah, he just tucked it under his shoulder, just walked out of Barnes & Noble.
00:13:03Like, nobody ever said anything to him.
00:13:06He just looked like he belonged.
00:13:06Is he a bigger guy?
00:13:07No, he's a kicker.
00:13:08Oh, wow.
00:13:08I had to write a letter.
00:13:09I had to write a letter of apology to the university.
00:13:13If you're watching UMass.
00:13:14UMass, can we unban our guy?
00:13:16Come on, UMass.
00:13:16Come on, dude.
00:13:17He was 18.
00:13:18Come on.
00:13:19That was so long ago.
00:13:20Look at him.
00:13:21Dude, look at him.
00:13:22I made a mistake.
00:13:23All right.
00:13:24Another fun fact.
00:13:25Sorry.
00:13:25I'm going to do a presentation at my alma mater in April.
00:13:29Me.
00:13:30This guy.
00:13:31They asked you to come back and do it?
00:13:32Oh, yeah.
00:13:34What are you doing the presentation about?
00:13:35I'm doing a marketing presentation for like an hour in a classroom.
00:13:39Oh, my goodness.
00:13:40You are a sneaky great marketer, though.
00:13:43I am, yeah.
00:13:44Watch how many that's baseball shirts I sell.
00:13:46Another fun fact.
00:13:47Baseball, bring back beers, a zillion beers back in the day.
00:13:50Are you the most famous alumni of your college?
00:13:55It's got to be up.
00:13:56I mean, you got to be top two.
00:13:57It's a small school.
00:13:58Exactly.
00:13:59Yeah.
00:14:00Let's say yeah.
00:14:00That's pretty sick.
00:14:01Let's say yeah.
00:14:01Yeah.
00:14:02That's pretty sick.
00:14:02All right.
00:14:03In other college basketball news, you all saw the cold open was a reference to the Big
00:14:0712.
00:14:07So you saw the glass court.
00:14:09The opinions on the glass court were buried.
00:14:12Some players complaining.
00:14:14One guy saying if a kid said that he gave one of the players a migraine.
00:14:17A Texas Tech player who tweaked his groin saying that it's too slippery.
00:14:23Well, the Big 12 has announced that it is switching back to a wood floor for the remainder
00:14:28of the tournament, which is, of course, the final four with Brett Yormack saying, quote,
00:14:34the focus needs to be on four of the best teams in the country and not the court.
00:14:38I look forward to a great semifinals and a championship game.
00:14:43Listen, boys, basketball has to be played on hardwood at the end of the day.
00:14:46Yeah.
00:14:46I'm dry.
00:14:47Like, I thought it was cool.
00:14:49I thought some of the graphics and animations were cool.
00:14:52But if it's affecting even one player and his performance, I think you got to change
00:14:57it.
00:14:58But a migraine?
00:14:59How does that even happen?
00:15:01Yeah.
00:15:01It's kind of a wuss, dude.
00:15:03Some people look at bright stuff too long.
00:15:06No, actually, that's not fair.
00:15:07Like, migraines can happen.
00:15:08They suck.
00:15:09They're terrible.
00:15:11Carson, why are you pointing at me?
00:15:14Carson's been so distracting, this show.
00:15:16It's seriously unbelievable.
00:15:18Sitting in the corner, bro.
00:15:20No, but it's...
00:15:21I love that they took the shot, dude.
00:15:23Okay?
00:15:24You got to take chances.
00:15:25Yeah.
00:15:26Unfortunately, I just don't know that this one worked out.
00:15:28Good for your mark in the Big 12, kind of avoiding the sunken cost fallacy and not just
00:15:34stubbornly being like, no, we have to keep it.
00:15:36But I guess my question is, does the glass floor survive?
00:15:42Or is this tech now relegated to, like, the big three or maybe smaller European leagues?
00:15:49Like, is there a world where this tech, which has now kind of gotten shunted on its first
00:15:54big stage, can ever come back?
00:15:57I think it's a really cool idea.
00:15:59It is a cool idea?
00:16:00If they can perfect it to the point where there's no slippage.
00:16:03I saw there was a couple cracks in the floor.
00:16:07Like, if they can, you know, wrap that up and make it, like, you know, zero mistakes
00:16:13whatsoever, I'd be down for it.
00:16:16Imagine how pissed those nerds are that came up with all that technology.
00:16:20I mean, I feel bad for the company.
00:16:22Shut down, dude!
00:16:23No, I feel bad for the company.
00:16:24They'll be trying to develop it forever.
00:16:26No!
00:16:26They finally got to this stage and now, you know, migraines.
00:16:28Can I say something?
00:16:29Yeah.
00:16:29Jocks, win again, man.
00:16:30You look skinny.
00:16:32Why is that?
00:16:33Three people have texted me that, actually.
00:16:35You look skinny, dude.
00:16:35They said, on the BBC episode, I look skinny, I said, shout out one bone.
00:16:40Shout out one bone.
00:16:41You look skinny, dude.
00:16:42Shout out one bone.
00:16:43Big guy.
00:16:43Thank you, guys.
00:16:44Clothes made for big guys.
00:16:45Thanks, guys.
00:16:45No, we can't do a live ad read, but shut up.
00:16:48All right, we got two-minute foul news that I want to get to a bit later on the show.
00:16:51Connor Murray signed the Vikings.
00:16:52We'll get there.
00:16:52Romeo Dobbs, I did the Patriots.
00:16:53We'll get there a lot.
00:16:57Welcome back to Wake Up Barstool.
00:17:00I have a point I want to make.
00:17:02Hell, yeah.
00:17:03I'm mad at you.
00:17:04Uh-oh.
00:17:05Wait, I thought we squashed the beef here.
00:17:08I just thought about it.
00:17:09Okay.
00:17:09Get into it.
00:17:10Get into it.
00:17:11Tell him.
00:17:11Mikey, you got to start taking responsibility.
00:17:13This isn't good.
00:17:14I'm really having a bad morning.
00:17:15All right, go ahead, Dana.
00:17:16Yaga off game two.
00:17:19You know, supposed to have a home court advantage.
00:17:22My guy's just going out to lunch.
00:17:25Oh, yeah, today.
00:17:26When I have the biggest yaga of my life.
00:17:28Yeah, yeah, competing on the biggest stage.
00:17:30Who was the guy that was in your corner the most yesterday?
00:17:33And you had an impact.
00:17:35You had a great impact.
00:17:36You literally intimidated the other boys.
00:17:38He did.
00:17:38He got scared.
00:17:40And I hope you enjoy the weather, though.
00:17:42You guys don't realize how much this hurts me.
00:17:46I hope you...
00:17:46Well, I mean...
00:17:47Because you know how much I love the boys.
00:17:49Have fun at lunch, dude.
00:17:50Yeah, I love that you're saying it, but then you're not in control of your actions.
00:17:55Like, you could make your decisions.
00:17:56Have fun at lunch, dude.
00:17:57Well, I'm fighting for my life.
00:17:59So what is the situation?
00:18:00Who are you choosing to avoid helping out your best friend who's on the biggest stage that he's ever been
00:18:06on to hang out with?
00:18:07I'm kidding.
00:18:08Who are you going to hang out with?
00:18:09I'm just kidding, Al.
00:18:10What?
00:18:10I can do it without you.
00:18:11Is it because it's Friday?
00:18:12You want to get out of work early?
00:18:14Is that it?
00:18:14That's about your age.
00:18:15That's right.
00:18:16Who's your favorite batting stance?
00:18:17You know what, T-Bob?
00:18:18All right.
00:18:18Let's get into the NBA.
00:18:19What?
00:18:20Gary Sheffield.
00:18:21Yep.
00:18:21You...
00:18:22I am...
00:18:22We are on the same page right now.
00:18:24Mm-hmm.
00:18:25You leave work every day at 11 o'clock.
00:18:28Whoa.
00:18:29Okay.
00:18:30Okay.
00:18:30Brrp.
00:18:31Major, major timeout.
00:18:33Major timeout.
00:18:34First off, not true.
00:18:3612 to 1.
00:18:37I'm here at 5.
00:18:38Okay?
00:18:39Sometime I have 12 to run around here.
00:18:40I'm here at 5.
00:18:42And...
00:18:43And...
00:18:44It's because I have three children!
00:18:46You dumb 24-year-old...
00:18:4925.
00:18:50Caveman!
00:18:50I could probably have some children, too.
00:18:53Anyway.
00:18:53Little...
00:18:54Little...
00:18:54But...
00:18:54But...
00:18:55Okay.
00:18:56More...
00:18:56Okay.
00:18:56Let's talk ball.
00:18:57Let's get NBA.
00:18:57Let's get in.
00:18:58We're breaking the fire.
00:18:58Guys, wait.
00:18:59Can we just squash everything right now?
00:19:01I'm done with you.
00:19:01I'm just messing with you.
00:19:02I'm just messing with you.
00:19:02No, no, no.
00:19:03Everyone.
00:19:03No more making fun of each other.
00:19:05No more.
00:19:05No more.
00:19:06Okay.
00:19:06We're done.
00:19:07We're having a great next hour and a half.
00:19:09When Megan's not here, then we just start to snipe at each other.
00:19:12This is a sports show.
00:19:13Okay, guys.
00:19:13Let's go.
00:19:14All right.
00:19:14So, NBA update here.
00:19:16Let's start with...
00:19:18I want to start celebrating SGA.
00:19:20As last night, SGA breaks Wilt Chamberlain's record 127 straight regular season games with
00:19:29at least 20 points.
00:19:30And this is such an odd story to me because it hasn't garnered a ton of headlines.
00:19:36Thunder fans were locked in, as you can see from the highlight last night when he broke
00:19:41the record.
00:19:41But it's...
00:19:43I mean, Dana, you hate SGA.
00:19:45I don't hate SGA.
00:19:46I hate the Thunder.
00:19:47You hate the Thunder.
00:19:48But there's no way...
00:19:49Like, I guess what I'm struggling with is how to correctly give this record the praise
00:19:56that it deserves.
00:19:56Because look at the guys that he broke.
00:19:59It's absolutely absurd.
00:20:00You broke Chamberlain's record.
00:20:00Yeah.
00:20:01Second place was Chamberlain with like a 92 game streak.
00:20:04MJ only got into the 70s.
00:20:07Wow.
00:20:07I think Kareem was in the 70s.
00:20:09LeBron only got in the 50s.
00:20:10Kobe was like 62 or something.
00:20:12And here, it's 127 nights in a row, 497 days across two seasons where he's turned in 20
00:20:22every single night.
00:20:23It's unreal.
00:20:24It's one of those records I think we're going to look back on and be like, that might be
00:20:28unbreakable.
00:20:29Because the way he does it is not anything that blows you away.
00:20:34And that's kind of, I think, why people aren't really talking about it as much as they should
00:20:38be.
00:20:39Because he's so consistent and he'll put up, you know, 30 on 12 shots and a bunch of free
00:20:47throws.
00:20:47And people will just be like, he won't do anything that's going to wow you.
00:20:51He's not going to dunk on you.
00:20:53He's not going to, you know, he doesn't typically drop more than 30, 35 points.
00:20:58Sometimes he'll have a game where he, you know, goes above and 40 to 50, but not often.
00:21:03He's usually in that like 30 to 35 range.
00:21:06And it's extremely impressive.
00:21:08But it's just, in my opinion, it's just kind of the way he does it is a little bit boring.
00:21:13So it's interesting because I think a lot of people would agree with that breakdown of
00:21:17it may be boring, but to me, how he does it is fascinating because he's shooting long
00:21:23twos.
00:21:23Yeah.
00:21:24He's taking mid-range jumpers in the age when all the nerds are telling us it's dead.
00:21:28Right.
00:21:28Like, that's what I grew up on.
00:21:30We're shooting guards with this incredible intermediate game, finding a way to rise and
00:21:35hit the shot.
00:21:36Even last night, he breaks the record.
00:21:38He gets his 20th point, third quarter shot, where he's right inside the three-point line.
00:21:42So I love the fact that he's being told to play basketball this way.
00:21:45No, only layups and threes.
00:21:46It's all we allow nowadays.
00:21:47And the best player in the NBA who just broke Will Chamberlain's record did it with a style
00:21:53that the experts will tell you is now defunct.
00:21:56I have a question.
00:21:57Yes.
00:21:57Could you compare, like, what would be the equivalent of this record in, like, football terms?
00:22:03Would it be like a quarterback throwing a hot 200 yards?
00:22:06Like 200, I would say probably 200 yards, yeah.
00:22:08Maybe most games with a touchdown thrown in a row, which I think maybe Brady broke Breeze
00:22:14recently, but even that is not as...
00:22:16But this is, like, this is an absurd record.
00:22:18This is a record that is...
00:22:19It's extremely impressive.
00:22:20It's the 60s.
00:22:21It's very impressive.
00:22:22Wow.
00:22:22And, again, he's so efficient.
00:22:25Like, the fact that...
00:22:26Even last night, I was watching the whole game, I think he was 12 for 17 or something, somebody
00:22:33who shoots a lot of mid-range shots and gets to the paint like that at his size usually
00:22:38would not be shooting as well as he is.
00:22:40That's actually respect.
00:22:40He has a great field goal percentage.
00:22:4355%.
00:22:44Yeah.
00:22:45Which is crazy for a guard.
00:22:47But he's obviously a very smart player, and he knows how to get the shot that he wants
00:22:53at any point.
00:22:54And the frustrating thing about him, especially just watching the game as a Celtics fan last
00:22:58night, is you know when the ball is going in when he shoots it.
00:23:02Yeah.
00:23:03The second it leaves his hand, if he has any space, you're like, okay, that's going in.
00:23:09Well, but that's the other thing.
00:23:10Look at the record.
00:23:1152 and 15.
00:23:12Look at last night.
00:23:1314 points in the fourth to win the game and beat one of the best, hottest teams in the
00:23:18NBA by two.
00:23:19T-Bob, JV Celtics.
00:23:22Okay, that's fine.
00:23:23That's fine.
00:23:24The point is, it's not like his style is taking away from team success either.
00:23:28Yeah.
00:23:29They win.
00:23:30I really don't like them.
00:23:32I'm sorry.
00:23:32They're corny.
00:23:35Go ahead.
00:23:36Go ahead.
00:23:36Go ahead.
00:23:36Go ahead.
00:23:37Go.
00:23:37Go.
00:23:38Go.
00:23:38Go.
00:23:39Obviously, they are...
00:23:42I would say the best team in the NBA.
00:23:44I just hate how corny they are.
00:23:47They're cornballs.
00:23:47If you saw these guys, dude, their post-game antics, SGA, what he wears...
00:23:52SGA's fits are awesome.
00:23:54You're crazy.
00:23:54I was showing my fits.
00:23:55Chet Holmgren is such a cornball.
00:23:58Their commercials.
00:23:59Their commercial with Holmgren is bad.
00:24:01I just don't like them.
00:24:02They're not likable and they're cocky and I just, but you have to respect them because
00:24:09they're so good.
00:24:09Just for some perspective here, because everybody wants to call him a free-throw merchant, Luka
00:24:15Doncic leads the league with 10 free-throw attempts a game.
00:24:18SGA's second at nine, but like, okay, Jokic shoots eight per game.
00:24:24If you try to distill SGA's game simply down to free-throw merchant, you played yourself.
00:24:31You're telling on yourself.
00:24:32Those are people that just don't actually watch basketball.
00:24:34Another question, Dana.
00:24:35Now, what is the name of the three position?
00:24:39Small forward.
00:24:40Small forward.
00:24:41Yeah, traditional.
00:24:41And the power forward.
00:24:42Yeah.
00:24:42That's a four.
00:24:43Yeah.
00:24:43Yeah, it's five.
00:24:44Shooting guard and guard.
00:24:45But, bro, we live in the age of positionless basketball.
00:24:47Nothing means anything anymore.
00:24:48I'm positionless, bro.
00:24:49You should see me out there.
00:24:50You're just a double-double merchant.
00:24:51Yeah.
00:24:52Well, Dana can bring it up the court, pass it off, post up down low, hit you a little
00:24:58dipsy-doo, fade away.
00:24:59Can't do threes, so I guess I'm not positionless.
00:25:00But, like, back in the 80s, like.
00:25:02You can't space.
00:25:03But, like, back in the 80s, the point guard was the only guy to bring up the ball.
00:25:06Yeah.
00:25:06He was like, yeah.
00:25:07Yeah.
00:25:08Now, like, Jokic is bringing it up.
00:25:10The lineup of doom with the Warriors a few years ago, I feel like, is basically credited
00:25:15at creating the, obviously, the three-point exploit, but also some of the new positionless
00:25:19theories.
00:25:19Speaking of free throws, guys, so Bam Adebayo drops 83 the other night.
00:25:24I got to say that I agree with Brandon Walker's take here, where basically he was like, and
00:25:28where he was like, look, if we watch somebody score 83 points, and we can't at least have
00:25:33fun with it or celebrate it, and we immediately get to nitpicking and anger and yada, yada,
00:25:36yada, like, we have lost our way.
00:25:39And it's wild to me that you have Bam Adebayo having to field questions, like, defend himself,
00:25:46and Eric Spolstra having to defend himself and his player.
00:25:50Here's what Coach Spoh had to say about Bam's record.
00:25:53I apologize to absolutely no one.
00:25:56Period.
00:25:59And, you know, going into the game, you know, it's a Tuesday night game against a team where
00:26:06they're not playing for anything, where their organization is trying to lose.
00:26:09We've already lost a game, you know, in that kind of situation.
00:26:14We have players that are sitting out, and I spoke to Bam about, I want, as our best player
00:26:20and team captain, for him to be locked in and ready.
00:26:24And he sure was.
00:26:26Yeah, Coach Spoh is one of the absolute legends of the game.
00:26:30Pulling from the Gregor school of soundbite there, I apologize to absolutely no one, nor
00:26:35should he.
00:26:36Look, it's not as tight as Kobe's game.
00:26:39That's fine.
00:26:40It's still awesome.
00:26:41It was still wild.
00:26:42It's still fun.
00:26:43And it's the NBA regular season.
00:26:45God forbid somebody have a little fun on a night when something incredible is happening.
00:26:50Yeah, the people who complain about this, again, are the just, they're the people that
00:26:56think Miami, Ohio should not be in the tournament.
00:26:58They always have to have a take.
00:26:59They always have to find what's wrong with something that's awesome.
00:27:03Okay?
00:27:04This is cool.
00:27:05Oh, beers have too many calories.
00:27:07Bring back beers.
00:27:08Bring back beers.
00:27:10I was watching this fourth quarter, and it was, yeah, the way that the fouls and kind
00:27:16of the triple teams and all that, like, it's not basketball, but who cares?
00:27:22Like, he got his 83.
00:27:24Yeah.
00:27:24No matter how he got it, he got it.
00:27:26In fact.
00:27:26You might have a problem with how he got it, but who cares, man?
00:27:29He did it.
00:27:30And the people that say, how could Bam Adebayo do this?
00:27:33Again, you don't watch basketball.
00:27:35A lot of people say this about Bam Adebayo, that he is one of just, like, the low-key best
00:27:42players in the league.
00:27:43Yeah.
00:27:43So, I don't know, man.
00:27:45It's hot take culture, and we don't do hot take culture with the big boys.
00:27:48Well, and even, it's funny, because even, like, his NBA peers, some of them have been
00:27:53critical, but it's actually the not-as-good players, but, like, the KDs, the LeBrons, like,
00:27:58the actual legends are the ones who are like, this was awesome.
00:28:01You don't even know how hard this is.
00:28:02Tate would have gone for 100 if he was in this position.
00:28:06Yeah, and everybody, when you have one of those nights, you always push it to Pat's head.
00:28:10In fact, the only time I could find where somebody hasn't was Kobe one time.
00:28:14I was shocked to read this, because I don't remember this.
00:28:16He had 62 going into the fourth against the Mavericks.
00:28:20He had outscored the entire Mavericks 62-61, and he sat in the fourth.
00:28:25So, that was the only time where somebody had a night like this and did not chase it like
00:28:29a madman.
00:28:30So many points.
00:28:31We got Smasher Pass coming up.
00:28:33You know what else we got coming up today, guys?
00:28:34We're heading to break here.
00:28:35Let's see a little taster.
00:28:36Maybe we can revisit.
00:28:37Taser.
00:28:37If you like college basketball, you got Ohio State-Michigan at 11, Kentucky-Florida at
00:28:43noon, Wisconsin-Illinois at 1.30, Tennessee-Vanderbilt at 2.30, Purdue-Nebraska at 5.30, Iowa State-Arizona
00:28:49at 6, and Kansas-Husen at 8.30.
00:28:51Guys, wow.
00:28:53Oh, yeah, those are all central times.
00:28:54Excuse me.
00:28:54Let's go.
00:28:55Basketball's in the air.
00:28:56Smasher Pass is as well, and it's next here on Wig of Barstool.
00:28:59All right, triceps.
00:29:01I know.
00:29:05What's hand?
00:29:06Welcome back.
00:29:07Wig of Barstool.
00:29:08What is that?
00:29:09What's hand?
00:29:10What's hand?
00:29:10We got the big boys here, and, well, we love food, guys.
00:29:15Imagine that.
00:29:17No crud.
00:29:18Yep, yep, yep.
00:29:19I was about to say no ass.
00:29:20You know what else we love?
00:29:21We love Smasher Pass.
00:29:22However, we have changed up the rules a little bit because we were finding that playing Smasher
00:29:28Pass with food, we were just smashing everything for the most part.
00:29:31So now, it's Smasher Pass Head-to-Head Edition, where you've got to choose one over the other,
00:29:38and we start with Creamy vs. Crunchy peanut butter.
00:29:41Ooh-hoo!
00:29:43I mean, because both are smashed.
00:29:44I'm a huge texture guy, so I'm going to smash the Crunchy.
00:29:50I like a little crunch, man.
00:29:52I was going to say, it's a weird thing where I never buy Crunchy.
00:29:54I don't know why, but when you eat it, you're like, wow, I love this.
00:29:58Yeah, yeah, Crunchy.
00:29:59Peanut butter, low-key doesn't get the respect it deserves in the national spotlight.
00:30:04And peanuts in general.
00:30:05Yeah.
00:30:06I mean, Dana, you're getting a puppy, right?
00:30:08Oh, yeah.
00:30:09Tomorrow.
00:30:10Peanut butter.
00:30:11They love peanut butter.
00:30:12Peanut butter, jelly time!
00:30:13Peanut butter, jelly time!
00:30:15Where you at?
00:30:15Where you at?
00:30:16Where you at?
00:30:17Where you at?
00:30:18There you go.
00:30:18There you go.
00:30:19I thought you might be too young for that.
00:30:21Come on, man.
00:30:22There you go, Nick.
00:30:22Yeah, I haven't heard that in a hard time.
00:30:25Crunchy.
00:30:25Crunchy.
00:30:27Ice cream versus cake.
00:30:29Ice cream.
00:30:30Yeah.
00:30:30You know what's crazy?
00:30:31It's like, I'm like, really not a big cake guy.
00:30:34Yeah, we're not sweets guys here.
00:30:35We're not savory guys.
00:30:36Exactly.
00:30:36You give me these two on a plate together, like, we're, you know, we're going to the moon.
00:30:41Or like a pizookie.
00:30:42A what?
00:30:43Like a cookie with ice cream on top.
00:30:45Huh?
00:30:45You've never had a pizookie?
00:30:47Pizookie?
00:30:48Have you never had a pizookie?
00:30:49A pizookie?
00:30:51I'm serious.
00:30:52A huge warm cookie in a pan and they put ice cream?
00:30:55A pizookie?
00:30:56A skillet.
00:30:57I mean, I've had that, but I've never heard of it called a pizookie.
00:30:59All right.
00:31:01Pizookie?
00:31:02Pizookie.
00:31:02Ah, yeah.
00:31:03Ice cream.
00:31:03Ice cream.
00:31:04Ice cream.
00:31:04Ice cream.
00:31:04Oh, guys, we're two for two.
00:31:05Fully agreeing here.
00:31:07French fries.
00:31:16I think I got out french fried.
00:31:18You ate too many fries?
00:31:19I ate too many fries.
00:31:20I could never eat too many.
00:31:21I'm still going to pick at them, but like, even if I go to certain establishments, past
00:31:27food, I'll leave out the fries.
00:31:29I don't know what happened along the way.
00:31:30I think I ate too many.
00:31:32Fries are so good.
00:31:33Excuse me.
00:31:34Oh, my God, Michael.
00:31:35Have some coof.
00:31:36Yeah.
00:31:37Funny word.
00:31:38Show a little coof.
00:31:39Fries are...
00:31:39Okay, because I'm agreeing.
00:31:41Look, onion rings are delicious.
00:31:43Yeah.
00:31:43They can go sideways quick.
00:31:45You can make bad onion rings very easily.
00:31:47I am willing to say a great onion ring is better than a great fry.
00:31:52That's an argument that I'd be willing to hear, but this is like...
00:31:55I would entertain.
00:31:56What are we taking overall?
00:31:57I'd say fries.
00:31:58So, what's your favorite style of fry?
00:32:01I love a curly fry.
00:32:03Dude, I love a curly fry, man.
00:32:05I love a five-guys fry with the skin on.
00:32:09Okay, yeah.
00:32:10But still, I don't like...
00:32:11You love that skin on.
00:32:12I don't like the real fluffy, like, thick fry that you can tell is, like, straight from
00:32:17the freezer.
00:32:18Yeah, like steak fry.
00:32:18Yeah, like, I love a good hand-cut, skin-on fry that's fried to perfection.
00:32:23I love a good...
00:32:24Yeah, I mean, those fries on the screen look pretty awesome, honestly.
00:32:27Yeah.
00:32:28That's kind of the one I want.
00:32:29If those were cooked in beef tallow, yeah, you give me that, and you give me some ketchup,
00:32:33and we're going to be dirty.
00:32:34Uh, side winner, waffle cheese fries with, like, jalapeno.
00:32:42Oh, loaded fries.
00:32:43Some ranch.
00:32:44Yeah, some ranch.
00:32:45Loaded fries.
00:32:45Some bacon bits.
00:32:47Oh, man.
00:32:47All right.
00:32:48Tater tots.
00:32:49Love tater tots.
00:32:49Those, too.
00:32:50Ooh, brisket or ribs.
00:32:51I mean, look, guys, again, both delicious, but brisket's the premier cut of great barbecue,
00:32:56right?
00:32:58But if you slightly screw up a brisket...
00:33:02Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:33:02That's horrible.
00:33:03Yeah, yeah, for sure.
00:33:04For sure.
00:33:04So, I'm going to go ribs.
00:33:07Really?
00:33:08That's crazy to me.
00:33:09Ribs.
00:33:09I'm going to go ribs.
00:33:10You're going to go ribs as well?
00:33:11Yes, sir.
00:33:12But a very good brisket blows ribs, any ribs, out of the water.
00:33:16Nothing beats a melt-in-your-mouth brisket.
00:33:19I agree.
00:33:19It is just...
00:33:20It's like butter.
00:33:21It's like meat butter.
00:33:22Yeah.
00:33:23I'm going to go ribs, though.
00:33:25All right.
00:33:25So, I guess I'm on the minority here.
00:33:27Orange chicken versus Mongolian beef?
00:33:29Orange chicken.
00:33:29Orange chicken.
00:33:30Yeah, orange...
00:33:31Mongolian beef, very good.
00:33:32Orange chicken, though.
00:33:32Next.
00:33:33Now, what if I said orange chicken versus sesame chicken?
00:33:37Orange chicken.
00:33:37Orange chicken.
00:33:37Versus General Tso.
00:33:38General Tso's, that's...
00:33:40I'm hitting that.
00:33:41Over everything?
00:33:41That's the real debate.
00:33:43Nah, dude.
00:33:43Every time.
00:33:44It's sesame over everything.
00:33:45I think sesame is the one...
00:33:46The number one.
00:33:47Yeah, sesame is one-one.
00:33:48Mine's general Tso's.
00:33:48Yeah, but give me orange chicken over...
00:33:50Yeah, I'll take one.
00:33:50Is a Mongolian beef, like, just...
00:33:53What's...
00:33:54Oh, Mongolian beef's great.
00:33:55I've had it, but, like, what's, like, the...
00:33:57What separates it from just beef?
00:34:01Mongolia.
00:34:02Yeah.
00:34:03No, I don't know what the flavor of mommy makes.
00:34:06I don't know.
00:34:06This is easy for me.
00:34:07Guys, what are we talking about?
00:34:08This is bone-in.
00:34:09Boneless wings are nuggets.
00:34:10This is bone-in.
00:34:11Bone-in.
00:34:12I would never in my life order a boneless wing.
00:34:14That's insane.
00:34:15I am a child, okay?
00:34:16But, again, a great bone-in wing is there's nothing better.
00:34:23In terms of consistency, I like boneless.
00:34:26Just in terms of just...
00:34:27Can I say something?
00:34:28No, no.
00:34:28Just, like, safer play.
00:34:30Safer play to me is boneless.
00:34:32No!
00:34:32It is.
00:34:33No!
00:34:33It is.
00:34:34A safer play is boneless.
00:34:35Sometimes you get those big, fat wings.
00:34:37What's the point of boneless?
00:34:40I don't understand.
00:34:41You know what my favorite wing is all time?
00:34:43What?
00:34:43Is the full wing.
00:34:44Like, the Z wing.
00:34:46Oh, yeah, yeah.
00:34:46Shut up.
00:34:46With the drum and the flat all together.
00:34:49My house has them.
00:34:50I mean...
00:34:51There's a place where your house has them?
00:34:53Yeah, yeah.
00:34:53It's great.
00:34:54I'm sorry, man.
00:34:54I'm a child.
00:34:55Crazy take.
00:34:56What do you have to gnaw on?
00:34:57You can't even gnaw on the bone.
00:34:58That's, like, the best part is to get all the meat off.
00:35:00You just...
00:35:01Childish palate.
00:35:02This would be perfect when the bear comes on because I want to lead it off with one question.
00:35:06All right.
00:35:06About food.
00:35:07Chris Felica, the bear, coming up next here on Wake Up Barstool.
00:35:11Don't go anywhere.
00:35:12We've got plenty more cover here in hour number two.
00:35:19What's happening?
00:35:19Welcome back to Wake Up Barstool.
00:35:21It is Friday.
00:35:23And because it's Friday, we've got to welcome in our best Friday friend.
00:35:26And that is Chris Felica, a.k.a. the bear.
00:35:29We have him on seemingly every Friday.
00:35:31He's the man.
00:35:32Never too busy for the boys here.
00:35:34Bear, what's happening, baby?
00:35:35Hey, boys.
00:35:36How's the...
00:35:36I'm just sitting here hanging out and enjoying the end of your wings versus chicken tenders
00:35:43conversation there.
00:35:43Yeah, okay.
00:35:44This is perfect.
00:35:44Wait, wait.
00:35:45Hold on.
00:35:45Before you get to that, weigh in on that.
00:35:47Where do you stand on the nugget?
00:35:49He said chicken tenders?
00:35:50He said chicken tenders?
00:35:50Yeah, he said chicken.
00:35:51Yeah, yeah.
00:35:51I think that tells the story.
00:35:52I think all your chicken tenders probably gave it away, right?
00:35:55Yes.
00:35:56Exactly.
00:35:56Okay, okay.
00:35:57So we don't need to hash that out.
00:35:58Michael did want to start with a question for you, Bear.
00:36:00And this is for everyone.
00:36:02Okay.
00:36:02I want everyone to give their 1-1 appetizer.
00:36:07Okay.
00:36:07It could be like your dream scenario.
00:36:10You're at a bar.
00:36:11You're at a restaurant.
00:36:14Yeah.
00:36:14Your 1-1 appetizer.
00:36:16Does anybody have anything that jumps out?
00:36:18I have mine because I brought up the conversation.
00:36:20I would say this.
00:36:22Mine is fully loaded nachos.
00:36:26Okay.
00:36:26Fully loaded nachos are great.
00:36:27I don't get them often enough.
00:36:29They do get soggy.
00:36:29That is true.
00:36:30Okay, but perfect scenario, they don't get soggy.
00:36:32Yeah, if it's a well-made tortilla chip.
00:36:34Well-made, yeah.
00:36:34Potentially.
00:36:35That's mine.
00:36:35That's mine.
00:36:36Oh, I know what mine is.
00:36:38I was eating calamari, but no, it's actually, it's queso.
00:36:41It's like a Tex-Mex queso.
00:36:43Chips and queso is the greatest thing on the planet.
00:36:45Like a skillet queso?
00:36:46I like that too, but no, I'm talking like a white queso.
00:36:49Chorizo, I would put chorizo and spinach in it, me personally.
00:36:52That's just me.
00:36:53Bear, where are you at?
00:36:54Yeah, I'm with you on the case.
00:36:56Like, are we counting wings as an app or are we counting wings?
00:36:59No, I wouldn't count them as an app.
00:37:01I don't think so, per this conversation.
00:37:03Where are you at, Dana?
00:37:04I want to say like chips and salsa or like a, you're going to make fun of me,
00:37:10but like a basket of buffalo tenders.
00:37:12Does that count?
00:37:15Pop point chicken?
00:37:17A big basket of buffalo chicken.
00:37:20I'm surprised no one went with like a, like a fry, like something fried.
00:37:23Well, fried calamari, that's where my head went at first,
00:37:26but then I had to be honest with myself.
00:37:27Like mot sticks are up there.
00:37:28Yeah, mot sticks.
00:37:29Oh, God, we love a mot stick bear.
00:37:31Don't we love a mot stick?
00:37:32Oh, is that our tangent?
00:37:34What's the best mot stick you ever had, bear?
00:37:36The, ooh.
00:37:38I love talking.
00:37:39There are a lot of, Bertucci's used to make a really good appetizer.
00:37:45It was like a, it had like a chunky, a thick, chunky tomato sauce with,
00:37:52with like a thin rolled mozzarella.
00:37:55It was so good.
00:37:56I forget, I forget what the hell they called it, but that was, that was really good.
00:37:59I'm with you on the queso though.
00:38:01A good, a good white queso with some, some chopped jalapenos.
00:38:06It was a nice thin, like a good tortilla chips with still a good bit of grease on them,
00:38:12so the salt thing's in there.
00:38:13Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:38:15This man knows balls.
00:38:16Bear knows so much balls.
00:38:18Another thing.
00:38:18Or how about just asking for tortillas sometimes and dip like a soft tortilla in there?
00:38:22I love that.
00:38:23Have you ever been at the, this bar, the Irish bar right up the street?
00:38:26The Nobleman?
00:38:27Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:38:28Have you gotten their Reuben egg rolls?
00:38:30Oh, yes.
00:38:30It'll, it'll knock your off.
00:38:34No, really?
00:38:35The socks.
00:38:35Even more than my socks.
00:38:37Yes.
00:38:37Wow.
00:38:38Actually, it's funny you asked me if I've been to Nobleman,
00:38:40because I think your credit card is somehow tied to my account on Nobleman,
00:38:45because I keep getting random texts about all the points I'm accruing,
00:38:48and I haven't been there in like two months.
00:38:50So you're just getting me a ton of store credit, Mike, my boy, dude.
00:38:55Hey, man.
00:38:55All right, Bear, let's get into some college basketball.
00:38:59Do we have to?
00:39:00I know, I know, I know.
00:39:02The producers have demanded it,
00:39:03and I am nothing if not a slave to the algorithmic gods that rule our existence.
00:39:09Miami of Ohio, we can do this quick.
00:39:11Where do you fall in Miami of Ohio?
00:39:13I mean, they're, they're, they should be in the tournament.
00:39:16This is not, the people who try and make, turn it into, like,
00:39:20oh, in college football, like, college football, college basketball,
00:39:23are two different things.
00:39:24Like, if we're not finding a space in 37 at-large teams for a team that won 31
00:39:31and 0 during the regular season, like, well, like, what are we doing here?
00:39:34And it's the perfect storm, I think, for the committee
00:39:37and for college basketball fans.
00:39:40Everyone's sitting here arguing, do they deserve to be in?
00:39:42Do they not deserve to be in?
00:39:44We need to, they didn't play anybody.
00:39:46The Auburns and the Indianas and the NC States and the Texases,
00:39:49they played everyone.
00:39:51So, why not?
00:39:52You know what we can do?
00:39:53It's a good take.
00:39:53Tuesday night, 9 o'clock, Dayton, Miami of Ohio,
00:39:57versus whatever one of those Power Four teams you want to see in there,
00:40:00settle it on the floor.
00:40:01It's a perfect situation to see who ultimately would go on.
00:40:05But if, if, if you don't have room for them with a historically weak bubble
00:40:10this year, then just completely blow up what we're doing.
00:40:14That's a great take.
00:40:15I mean, it makes too much sense what Bear just laid out, guys.
00:40:19All right, help us find some value here.
00:40:21Now, coming up next, you're going to help us with our own in-house competition
00:40:25that we're having here on WUB, where we've been drafting teams
00:40:28to different tiers and the scoring system we developed.
00:40:30But let's say from a gambling perspective, is there a team out there,
00:40:35and obviously the heavyweights look like heavyweights for a reason.
00:40:38That's, that's inherent.
00:40:39Is there a team out there that maybe lines up to be a three seed or worse
00:40:43that you think is capable of potentially breaking through?
00:40:48Tennessee, I think, would be that one team.
00:40:50And I know they played kind of an ugly 30 minutes yesterday
00:40:53before ultimately finally beating Auburn.
00:40:56But I think with Amen back and Gillespie,
00:40:58they've got a couple of guys who can take over games.
00:41:01And you know defensively they're always going to be good.
00:41:04There really isn't a lot of buzz about the Vols this year,
00:41:08and they've fallen short a bunch under Rick Barnes.
00:41:11But I think they're a team with how battle-tested they are in the SEC.
00:41:15And you know they can take on some big-name opponents.
00:41:18They might be a team in that five-seed range
00:41:22that could potentially make a run.
00:41:24Because I was looking at those three, four, five-seed lines,
00:41:27and it looks like a very weak or a soft-type group.
00:41:33Like Texas Tech, without Toppin, is certainly not the same team.
00:41:37So we'll ultimately see.
00:41:38But if I had to pick a team from that group,
00:41:41I think the Vols might be there a little under the radar this year.
00:41:45Bear, the ACC this year has kind of gotten a bad rap
00:41:49just in terms of everyone kind of talks about
00:41:52how it's just duking everyone else.
00:41:54What are you laughing at, just the outfit?
00:41:55It's the outfit.
00:41:56It makes me so happy.
00:41:58You think he looks good, Bear?
00:41:58Every time we get to a one-shot, it's the best.
00:42:03It's like we had Jerry yesterday in the judge costume.
00:42:05I apologize.
00:42:06It's all good.
00:42:07But the ACC, it feels like it's duking everybody else.
00:42:10But quietly, the Canes and Virginia and Louisville
00:42:14have been pretty solid this year.
00:42:16How are you feeling about your Hurricanes
00:42:18heading into today's matchup with Virginia
00:42:20and for the rest of the tournament?
00:42:22They had an excellent chance to beat Virginia up in Charlottesville.
00:42:26A couple of weeks ago, lost on a last-second shot
00:42:30and a foul call kind of deal.
00:42:32I think what Jay Lucas has done, year one has been amazing.
00:42:35This was a team last year that didn't even sniff making the ACC tournament.
00:42:40And you add Henderson and True and Donaldson and those guys,
00:42:46they don't always hit shots from the perimeter,
00:42:50but they do such a great job of Renew getting the ball to him inside.
00:42:54They're a difficult matchup because they defend.
00:42:56They're tough as nails.
00:42:58They're hard to knock out.
00:42:59We have a running joke on our Miami group chat with my buddies that I have.
00:43:04In terms of onions, they're a 10 out of 10.
00:43:08In terms of talent, they're like a 6 or a 6.5 out of 10.
00:43:12When they get a couple more players in, they're going to be dangerous.
00:43:15But I think they've got a great chance today against Virginia.
00:43:19And if you look moving forward, they haven't got an opportunity to play Duke this year.
00:43:23And there are your reasons there as to why and why not.
00:43:26People believe maybe Duke didn't want to face Jay Lucas
00:43:29and create a whole bunch of whatever.
00:43:31But Duke shorthanded, they were very vulnerable last night.
00:43:35They very easily could have lost that game to Florida State.
00:43:38Clearly a team without Ngagwa and Foster.
00:43:43Not the team that we saw throughout the year.
00:43:45I think they're going to have their hands full against Clemson today as well.
00:43:48But I think the winner of that Miami-Virginia game,
00:43:51hopefully it will be the Canes, has an excellent chance
00:43:53to wind up knocking off Duke if they were indeed to win
00:43:56against Clemson as a big favorite.
00:43:58Bear, let's explore this onions versus talent metric a bit.
00:44:04What do you think weighs more heavily when it comes to success
00:44:07in the big tournament, in March Madness?
00:44:10I think ultimately talent wins out because you're going to need talent.
00:44:17You're going to need a pro-type guard, a pro-type three-man
00:44:24to take over and ultimately make a big shot.
00:44:27But I think early, it's like a combo.
00:44:30It's like a rolling metric.
00:44:31How about that?
00:44:32Early on, you're going to need the onions,
00:44:34the toughness to kind of withstand that 10-0, 12-0 run
00:44:39that is going to come, and you're going to be down,
00:44:42and you're going to need the onions to come back
00:44:43and claw your way back.
00:44:45And then the end of the game is ultimately when the talent takes over.
00:44:49So how about that?
00:44:50I love that.
00:44:50I'm so fat.
00:44:51I thought when he said combo, I thought it was like the combo snack.
00:44:55We're talking onions.
00:44:57Onions, straws, and onions.
00:44:58Yeah, I have no idea what any of that means, but continue.
00:45:01Sorry.
00:45:01Bear, it seems right now like we have this big four of teams that are great,
00:45:06and it kind of feels like everybody else.
00:45:08But if you were to make a pick on a team outside of that big four
00:45:13that can really go in and make a run and win the tournament,
00:45:17who would you be taking?
00:45:19I think Houston is probably the team just on the outside
00:45:22that still really intrigues me.
00:45:24They just need Sharp to make some shots like he did last year.
00:45:28I mean, they are not the team that they were last year.
00:45:33Certainly on the interior, they don't dominate the glass
00:45:36and get those second-chance shots like they did last year.
00:45:39But I think Houston is a team, obviously, that's been there,
00:45:42a coach that's been there.
00:45:44I still think they got a great chance to potentially do it
00:45:46because you're right.
00:45:48Last year, seeing all four No. 1 seeds make the Final Four,
00:45:53it feels the same way this year, and I wonder if this is something
00:45:58that we're going to see moving forward where the pay-for-play era
00:46:03with the talent kind of gravitating towards the top
00:46:06and the ones and the twos getting stronger,
00:46:09and the teams, the fives, the sixes, the sevens,
00:46:12we're going to see fewer upsets, fewer Cinderella runs to the tournament.
00:46:16So I'm curious to see ultimately if that happens.
00:46:18But if we gave you the Duke, Michigan, Houston, Illinois, Arizona,
00:46:27and UConn, those six teams, do they get all four Final Four spots?
00:46:32If I put it over under three and a half Final Four spots there
00:46:35from those six teams, most people are probably going to say,
00:46:38if the Final Four will come from those four teams, I would think.
00:46:40So in a way, you answered what I was about to ask you,
00:46:43but just go ahead and we'll just go very sports-talky here
00:46:47and nail you down, your Final Four teams.
00:46:52I have to see the bracket and the way it comes down.
00:46:56But I might be willing to take a stand against Duke
00:47:01because we don't know.
00:47:03Foster has a broken foot and he had surgery.
00:47:05I would assume he's going to be out.
00:47:08And Gangba, who knows if he's coming back.
00:47:11I would maybe look to take a stand against Duke.
00:47:14We'll see how they look against Clemson and if they win moving forward
00:47:17and how coy they are about the return of some of those players.
00:47:21But Arizona looks great.
00:47:23They just might be too young and too talented to know any better.
00:47:28I think UConn, obviously, is a tournament-tested team with some stars.
00:47:33Houston, I just mentioned, I really like.
00:47:35Michigan feels like the biggest lock to get to the Final Four.
00:47:39I don't know what these yes-no props on teams to get to the Final Four.
00:47:43Michigan would be the one that I would totally focus on
00:47:46and kind of hammer that as a team I'm most certain about getting there.
00:47:50Yeah, Michigan currently looks like minus 160.
00:47:53Florida plus 125.
00:47:55That's been interesting.
00:47:56Bear, how do you find, or what kind of bets may be outside?
00:48:00What kind of bets are you playing here during the tournament?
00:48:02What are some fun bets to maybe gain some value?
00:48:05Do some interesting things?
00:48:06Yesterday I'm in a meeting and I just hear an enormous crowd pop
00:48:10come out of the gambling cave.
00:48:12And I guess it's because, you know, first half over they were playing
00:48:14that hit in an absurd way.
00:48:16So what do you play throughout both, like, conference tournaments
00:48:19and the NCAA tournament?
00:48:21Yeah, I like finding some prices in conference tournaments.
00:48:25Like, I had bet Florida State at 200-1 to win the ACC tournament,
00:48:28and they were in it yesterday against Duke,
00:48:31and that would have been a cool ride.
00:48:33Betting Arkansas Pine Bluff to win the SWAC
00:48:36and then losing kind of on a buzzer beater last night, too.
00:48:39That was fun.
00:48:41But, yeah, those first to 20s, those first to 15s,
00:48:44those first to 10s are always interesting.
00:48:47First half unders are always a good thing to look at
00:48:52come NCAA tournament time.
00:48:53Early starts, kind of empty gyms, teams, unfamiliar surroundings.
00:48:59You can kind of get a little bit of tight early on.
00:49:02I think you see maybe those numbers have kind of been adjusted a little bit
00:49:07because a lot of people are starting to catch on to that.
00:49:09But that's still a good way to do it.
00:49:11And then you can find some places where if you're looking for a big bang
00:49:16for your buck type of deal, if you like a team,
00:49:19one of those lower seeds to make the Final Four,
00:49:24you can parlay like a team.
00:49:26If you think St. Louis is going to make the Final Four,
00:49:29you can kind of wheel them with a bunch of other teams
00:49:32to make the Final Four and get some pretty ridiculous prices
00:49:35with some Final Four occupant parlays.
00:49:39Great advice there from our guy, the Bear, Chris Felica.
00:49:42All right, stick around, Bear.
00:49:43Coming up on the other side of this break,
00:49:45it's time for the Friday show.
00:49:47I'm on the team finally.
00:49:49Enough.
00:49:49No, no, no, no.
00:49:50We're going to do our NCAA tournament draft.
00:49:53We're going to draft teams.
00:49:53We're competing against every other cast of Wake Up Barstool.
00:49:58Oh, wow.
00:49:58Okay, Hank.
00:49:59All right, Maresh.
00:50:00More Wake Up.
00:50:01I'll do this now.
00:50:07Welcome back to Wake Up Barstool.
00:50:09All right, guys, let's do it, baby.
00:50:10It's time to continue what we've been doing all week long.
00:50:13We just kind of...
00:50:14Let him explain, Michael.
00:50:15I'm going to shut...
00:50:16Let him explain, Michael.
00:50:17You see this?
00:50:17I'm going to shut the hell off.
00:50:19You see what I have to deal with, Bear?
00:50:20You know, I don't even mind that.
00:50:21That's just the excitement of youth there.
00:50:24He just wants to be in the mix.
00:50:26So, this is a tournament draft we're doing every single day.
00:50:30And how it works is we've tiered the teams into four different tiers.
00:50:33We draft one team from each tier, and this is the scoring system.
00:50:37I should have just shut up and just...
00:50:38For a first round win, you get a single point.
00:50:41Second round win, you get two.
00:50:42So on and so forth.
00:50:43You all see it right here.
00:50:44Now, the twist is you can't have the same teams.
00:50:47So, we are dealing with the dregs.
00:50:49Okay, we are dealing with the runoff.
00:50:51Everybody's sloppy leftovers.
00:50:53That's not fair.
00:50:54That's why we have Bear here, though, the expert, to help us find some value.
00:50:58We don't even have a choice in tier one.
00:51:01Okay.
00:51:01Never mind.
00:51:02Okay.
00:51:03Tier one.
00:51:04Guys, who should we go with?
00:51:05I guess we get you.
00:51:06I love the Huskies.
00:51:07Let's go.
00:51:07I love the Huskies.
00:51:08Hurley?
00:51:09Are you kidding me?
00:51:10Yeah, but...
00:51:10I just want it on record.
00:51:11I have Florida at 15 to 1 to win the whole thing.
00:51:14I'm rooting for the number.
00:51:15Look at this.
00:51:16But, I mean, we get UConn, we get the guy who's been there, done that, knows how to win in
00:51:19the tournament.
00:51:20Take that.
00:51:21Yeah, okay.
00:51:21UConn tier one.
00:51:22How many teams got better non-conference wins than UConn?
00:51:24That's for sure.
00:51:25Yeah, exactly, Bear.
00:51:26All right.
00:51:27What do we got tier two?
00:51:29All right.
00:51:29Illinois.
00:51:30Illinois.
00:51:30Nebraska, Illinois, or Virginia.
00:51:32You guys shut up.
00:51:34Bear.
00:51:34Illinois.
00:51:35Oh, oh.
00:51:36Oh, say it again.
00:51:38You guys shut up.
00:51:39Illinois.
00:51:40Illinois, I think both the other two there, Nebraska, Virginia, they are susceptible to
00:51:45an early tournament bounce.
00:51:47So, yeah, Illinois for sure.
00:51:49Kadek, Keaton Wogler, freshman.
00:51:52Very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very good.
00:51:55He averages 18.3 points.
00:51:57I want to say Wogner.
00:51:58How'd you know that?
00:51:59I don't.
00:51:59I mean, it's like around that.
00:52:01Oh, really?
00:52:01Yeah.
00:52:02Total guess.
00:52:03Like the people's court of Wogner.
00:52:05Yeah, Wogner.
00:52:06Wogner.
00:52:08I knew you were right there, dude.
00:52:10Oh, my God.
00:52:11Your stomach.
00:52:12No, I'm not okay.
00:52:12Take this one over?
00:52:13No, I think I'm about to throw it.
00:52:15Bear, T-Bob's sick.
00:52:16He's got the bubble guts.
00:52:17I'm playing hurt.
00:52:18We'll take this one over.
00:52:18They don't understand.
00:52:19I got kids, Bear.
00:52:20We can already cancel out that big P because they suck at every fashion.
00:52:24No, I was just, all week long I've been thinking we might need to make you choose
00:52:27Purdue.
00:52:28Absolutely not.
00:52:29But the unfortunate answer here is probably Purdue.
00:52:32No.
00:52:33UNC's kind of thing.
00:52:34Yeah.
00:52:34Come on.
00:52:35Yeah.
00:52:36Yeah, Carolina without Caleb Wilson's got no shot.
00:52:39I'm out.
00:52:40Sorry.
00:52:40Gonzaga is just there without Huff.
00:52:44Like, they're, Purdue, except for the year they lost as a number one seed.
00:52:50They're going to lose in the first round.
00:52:52They've had a bad year.
00:52:54Purdue, I think, Purdue won't lose in the first round, I don't think.
00:52:58We've got to do it.
00:52:59You guys picked Purdue.
00:53:00I am no longer associated.
00:53:01Purdue?
00:53:01Oh, not Purdue.
00:53:02I am no longer associated with this little game you're playing.
00:53:07Well, you are.
00:53:08You're on the team.
00:53:09Look, Rico, Dave made Rico choose St. John's.
00:53:12And that's his mortal enemy.
00:53:13Purdue.
00:53:14Patino and St. John's.
00:53:15So you have to choose Purdue.
00:53:16And you're going to celebrate when we win.
00:53:17Yep.
00:53:18Mikey Kadick, noted Boilermaker fan.
00:53:21Just don't lose in a 3-14 game.
00:53:24That's all we want out of you.
00:53:27I think they got all the bad losses out of the way.
00:53:30Oh, look at this.
00:53:31Okay, so how this works is, nobody freak out, guys.
00:53:34Nobody freak out.
00:53:35Tier 4 is any team that has not been named.
00:53:38So, Bear, this is our opportunity to move.
00:53:41You know what I'm saying?
00:53:42Like, this is our opportunity.
00:53:43We're not having to choose from a set number of teams.
00:53:45Any team, but what is on the screen right now.
00:53:48Hit us with some odds.
00:53:49Let's see the leftovers.
00:53:53Any team other than the, ooh, um...
00:53:57What about, like, a Michigan State?
00:54:00Michigan State's already, they're in one of the top tiers.
00:54:02They've already been taken.
00:54:04They've already been there.
00:54:05What about in Arkansas with Darius A.
00:54:06No, they're in one of the top tiers.
00:54:08They've already been taken.
00:54:09Why don't we ride Bears Hurricanes?
00:54:11Oh?
00:54:13Bear?
00:54:14Is that a play?
00:54:17Yeah, I can get behind that.
00:54:18Because I'm looking at my bracket matrix site, and I'm looking for, like, the potential seeds.
00:54:25The good thing about Miami is, like, they're going to be on that, like, seven line, potentially, or six line.
00:54:31And you could pull a second-round upset and make a bit of a run.
00:54:35Yeah, we don't want to go 8-9, right?
00:54:37Because then we're going to run into one of the big dogs.
00:54:41Let me see those odds.
00:54:42Yeah, we could go Canes there.
00:54:45I wouldn't be opposed to that.
00:54:47Dana, as a member of Mostly Hoops, I mean, Kentucky's available, Vanderbilt's available, Virginia.
00:54:52Kentucky's.
00:54:52UCLA would be another one that I think could make a little bit of a...
00:54:55Cronin & Co.
00:54:56I'd have a lot of...
00:54:57Will Wade in NC State?
00:54:59Another one?
00:54:59Who's got better high-end wins than TCU, but also some terrible losses?
00:55:03Mm, let's just go Kentucky.
00:55:05They've got the best odds.
00:55:07Well, it doesn't even matter, because the weirdos in West Lafayette are going to lose first round anyways.
00:55:11Okay, you need to relax.
00:55:12We're on tier four.
00:55:13Miami could lose first round, man.
00:55:15I don't think they're very good at all.
00:55:17All right, so we're not going to do Kentucky then.
00:55:19I wouldn't do Kentucky.
00:55:20Let's just do Miami for the vibes.
00:55:22All right.
00:55:23Let's do Miami for the vibes.
00:55:24Reverse the Purdue vibes, and we'll go with actually a team that we care about.
00:55:28Yep.
00:55:28Hell yeah.
00:55:29Do Miami.
00:55:29Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:55:30It's all about the U, baby.
00:55:31U, U, U.
00:55:32Hey, Duke, I hope you enjoyed Derry and Mensa.
00:55:36Not anymore.
00:55:38Are you getting excited?
00:55:39Are you getting excited for a little Mensa action next season, Bear?
00:55:42I am getting very excited for not only Mensa, but Wilson and bringing in Cooper Barcade as well.
00:55:51The fact that Fletcher's back, Tony's back.
00:55:54Yeah, it's going to be an awesome year.
00:55:56And I've already made one of my bold predictions for this season that the winner of Notre Dame-Miami on
00:56:02November 7th is going to be the number one seed going into the playoff.
00:56:07Bear, Bear, I had Carson Beck's hands under my butt last week.
00:56:10Yeah.
00:56:10Ooh.
00:56:11In Tampa.
00:56:11Great kid.
00:56:12Great dude.
00:56:14That's pretty.
00:56:14So you were involved with the old Gruden camp?
00:56:18Yeah.
00:56:18Yeah.
00:56:18He got the—
00:56:19I'm the center.
00:56:20I'm the all-time center.
00:56:21It's a great job.
00:56:23It's a great team.
00:56:24That is awesome.
00:56:25Yeah.
00:56:25Yeah, so we had a—
00:56:26He's kind of a misunderstood kind of guy.
00:56:29And he's a great dude.
00:56:31He's so smart.
00:56:32Like, I was listening to him when he was doing his classroom session with Coach Gruden.
00:56:37I mean, he retains things like this.
00:56:40I mean, it's crazy.
00:56:40And then he takes all that from the classroom onto the field.
00:56:43He gets under—I like the way he gets under center, commands the offense.
00:56:48He's a thick dude.
00:56:50His lower half is thick, man.
00:56:52He's got these big calves on him.
00:56:54People, like, you hear about the cars and the dating and it's like—but he's totally different.
00:57:01I'm curious.
00:57:02I wonder who the third quarterback off the board is going to be.
00:57:06That would be a great draft prop this year because you know that Simpsons—Fernando will go number one.
00:57:13Simpsons will be two.
00:57:15Like, who goes three?
00:57:16Does Nuss go three?
00:57:18If there's so many different—
00:57:20Yeah, I don't know.
00:57:23That'll be a good prop.
00:57:24You're starting to talk like Coach Gruden.
00:57:26I was just about to say, when he was doing the Carson Beck breakdown, he hit the Gruden syntax.
00:57:31I know.
00:57:31I've been hanging out with him so much.
00:57:33But, yeah, I'm very high on Simpson as well because he was down there as well, and he's a great
00:57:39dude.
00:57:39He's awesome.
00:57:40He's got to have a first-round guarantee in order to burn down the money that he did from Oregon,
00:57:46Miami, and wherever else wanted him.
00:57:47Oh, yeah.
00:57:48Like, doesn't the Rams at 13 seem like a perfect spot for him?
00:57:52Ooh, yeah.
00:57:53Sit behind Stafford for a year.
00:57:55Yeah.
00:57:55Under McVay and that offense, and then—
00:57:58That would be great, yeah.
00:57:59Yeah, that feels like kind of a natural to me.
00:58:01A little Aaron Rodgers situation.
00:58:03Chris Felica, the Bear, cannot thank you enough, man.
00:58:05Let's go, Bear.
00:58:06Appreciate you, brother.
00:58:07You're the absolute best, dude.
00:58:08Love you, man.
00:58:09All right, guys.
00:58:09Have a great weekend.
00:58:10You have a great weekend as well.
00:58:11See you, Bear.
00:58:12Didn't say love you back.
00:58:13That's okay.
00:58:14I don't care.
00:58:15I don't care.
00:58:18Coming up next, some ASMR as—
00:58:21No, no.
00:58:21We got Mike DiCorsi coming up next, our Fox Bracketologist, to let you know where everything's going to fall.
00:58:33Welcome back to WUB.
00:58:34It is Friday.
00:58:35We're having a great time moving into the weekend.
00:58:37Coverage Tournament Day looks fantastic today, y'all.
00:58:41It was already super fun yesterday.
00:58:42It is the time of the year in which Mike DiCorsi shines.
00:58:45That is our Fox Bracketologist expert.
00:58:49I hate to start here because I'm sick of the conversation, but I have to.
00:58:54Miami of Ohio losing.
00:58:56Weigh in.
00:58:57What do we do with them?
00:58:58Oh, I don't think there's any question that they will be in the tournament.
00:59:02The only question is whether or not they would be asked—well, not asked, required—to play in Dayton in the first
00:59:11four games on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week.
00:59:14That's the only question.
00:59:16My answer is no, most likely, but it wouldn't shock me if they were.
00:59:22For one, it's only like a half-hour bus ride.
00:59:25If that—they might be able to walk to Dayton from Miami, from Oxford.
00:59:29That might work for them.
00:59:31But I don't think that their performance warrants that, and I don't think that that's what will happen, but it
00:59:38wouldn't be a surprise.
00:59:39The people who are trying to make this about in or out aren't paying attention to what the actual selection
00:59:46criteria are, and it starts with resume-based metrics, which factor out margin of victory and all of that.
00:59:55And as of now, this morning, the premier resume-based metric, as the NCAA has acknowledged at this point, is
01:00:03wins above bubble.
01:00:04They are 37th in that, which puts them about eight spots inside the field, so I don't have any doubt
01:00:11they'll make it.
01:00:12Mike, I want to switch gears a little bit here, because I think we're all pretty much done talking about
01:00:17money.
01:00:17Yeah, yeah, I just—
01:00:19No, you got to.
01:00:20You got to throw it out there.
01:00:21It was just for the record.
01:00:22Let's get out of there.
01:00:22Absolutely.
01:00:23Switch gears.
01:00:23Let's talk about the Big 12.
01:00:25I want to see if in any world—let's say the Houston Cougars end up winning their next two games and
01:00:32win the Big 12.
01:00:34Is there a world where they bump themselves up to the one line, or are they kind of stuck in
01:00:39that two spot for now?
01:00:41It's going to be really challenging because of the fact that Florida has been so dominant.
01:00:47Their resume is stronger at this point.
01:00:49UConn's is—I think UConn's is stronger as well, although they lost an opportunity to get a quality win, not by
01:00:57anything they did, but by the fact that Villanova lost in their semifinal—or their quarterfinal, excuse me, on Thursday.
01:01:07So, instead, they'll play Georgetown, the Huskies will, and that will just be more exercise for them.
01:01:14It won't help them at all in this.
01:01:16And I think it helps the Gators.
01:01:18Now, of course, if Kentucky goes out and takes out the Gators today, that could change the math, and it
01:01:22could open the door for somebody like Houston.
01:01:24But if you look at it to me, Houston's goal now is to open the Sweet 16 in their home
01:01:33city, in Houston.
01:01:34That's going to be the challenge.
01:01:36And the way the bracket is breaking down for me now, it says no, probably not.
01:01:41But if they were to do what you said, they would get a lot more priority in that next round,
01:01:47and I think there's a good chance that they would be in Houston.
01:01:50Hey, Mike, I'm not a basketball guy, and my Hoosiers probably aren't going to be in the tournament.
01:01:56Can you give me three teams to be excited about, to watch, someone to cheer for?
01:02:03I just need three teams.
01:02:05Okay, well, I think, first of all, you should root for Purdue.
01:02:09No, I'm just kidding.
01:02:11Oh, my God, my heart just dropped.
01:02:12That was a good bit, Mike.
01:02:13That was good, Mike.
01:02:14That was good, Mike.
01:02:15I almost threw up in my mouth a little bit.
01:02:19Well, I think one team that I really enjoy watching is Arizona.
01:02:24They are a beautiful basketball team.
01:02:27A lot of people have talked about their youth.
01:02:30They start three freshmen, but their freshmen don't play like freshmen.
01:02:33Jaden Bradley is as comprehensive a point guard as you could want.
01:02:37He does everything right.
01:02:39Tobey Iwaka, I love this young man.
01:02:41I had a 10-minute conversation with Tobey Iwaka after the Tennessee-Purdue Elite Eight game in Detroit two years
01:02:51ago.
01:02:51And I walked away and I said, that was either the best 10 minutes of that kid's life or he
01:02:57is really something.
01:02:58And then a couple weeks later, my friend Fran Fraschilla was analyzing one of his games and said, someday he'll
01:03:03be an NBA general manager.
01:03:05And then I talked to Tommy Lloyd, and Tommy told me a story about Tobey wherein, because they brought in
01:03:12Koa Pete, there was a question about who was going to start at Power Forward.
01:03:16And he said, it should be me.
01:03:18Tobey said, it should be me because Koa's never played off the bench in his life.
01:03:22He's been a five-star recruit since he was eight or whatever it was.
01:03:26So he volunteered to come off the bench.
01:03:28I mean, how much more could you want to root for a kid than Tobey Iwaka?
01:03:31You like this guy.
01:03:32I love that story.
01:03:33I like his own a team, too.
01:03:35He's jacked.
01:03:35I like your style.
01:03:36I mean, as I understand, not relying on threes, pounding the paint, but still can.
01:03:40They got the young stars.
01:03:42All right, Mike, what about this?
01:03:43In terms of the ever-updating landscape that's going on right now, you mentioned some teams that could potentially move
01:03:50today.
01:03:51Who were the biggest movers yesterday?
01:03:53Who helped their cause the most?
01:03:54Well, it's interesting you would ask that because a lot of the movers were moving down.
01:03:59I mean, we talked about Miami.
01:04:00They fell off my nine line to an 11.
01:04:03I think that Villanova is going to have a hard time holding on to a seven after losing to Georgetown.
01:04:10That was punishing.
01:04:11I think the movers up, you're not seeing huge moves at this time of year.
01:04:16There's too much data already in the bank, but it is a huge move to go from an eight to
01:04:22a seven, and I think UCLA put themselves in position to do that.
01:04:27Now, they may need to succeed today to hold it.
01:04:30It depends on everything else, but that going from eight to seven means we don't have to play Duke in
01:04:37the second round.
01:04:41Right now, my bracket says UConn, so that's not a whole lot easier, but you don't want to play a
01:04:47one seed if you don't have to.
01:04:48Plus those eight, nine games, they're so evenly matched.
01:04:51They're always bloodbaths.
01:04:53So you don't want to be in one of those if you don't have to.
01:04:55So that was big for them.
01:04:56I have Santa Clara moving up off my 11 line into a 10 because everything about their resume now, except
01:05:04for the depth of the quad one wins and that sort of thing, says that they're out of that 11
01:05:09territory, which is the very edge of the bracket.
01:05:12They rank fairly high in the resume metrics, fairly high in the power metrics, so I had them moving up
01:05:20as well.
01:05:21Let's talk a little bit about the SEC.
01:05:23So currently, there's four bubble teams.
01:05:27Me personally, I don't think Auburn should be in the conversation, but somehow they are still.
01:05:33Mizzou, Texas, Oklahoma, and Auburn are currently on the bubble.
01:05:36Who do you think gets in out of those four?
01:05:39Well, right now I have Texas and Missouri.
01:05:42It's very close.
01:05:43It's very perilous.
01:05:44The Auburn thing is interesting because there has never been a team that's one game over 500 get into the
01:05:52field, which is why yesterday's result was so important to them.
01:05:56There have been only two in basically 40 years of tournaments at the 64 level, only two, Villanova 91, Texas
01:06:0501, and I don't think that Auburn's resume matched up to either of those.
01:06:10We didn't have the same metrics.
01:06:13We didn't have the same metrics that we have now, so it's hard to judge apples to apples.
01:06:16But my recollection, I covered that Villanova team in the Big East.
01:06:21I attended the SEC tournament that Georgia played in and wrote about it.
01:06:25So I don't think that this Auburn team has the resume that they have.
01:06:30But their metrics say in, and so that's why they're still hanging around there.
01:06:35I think at the end they will not make it, and the other two will because they finished with better
01:06:41overall records.
01:06:42Their metrics are very comparable, and you don't have to explain away 17 and 16 if Mizzou and Texas are
01:06:49the ones that go.
01:06:51Mike, where can everybody find all the latest brackets over these next few days as, I mean, we're right here
01:06:57at the end of it.
01:06:58Where can everybody find your work and keep up to date with everything?
01:07:01Yeah, there will be a new bracket today, this morning, at CBB on Fox.
01:07:06And, of course, all the FS1 telecasts of the Big East will discuss that.
01:07:10But I'll be on tonight in between games discussing St. John's' circumstance, whether Seton Hall maybe did enough to get
01:07:19in.
01:07:19I still think they have a lot more to do.
01:07:22I think they're much more likely to get an automatic bid, as tough as that will be, have to beat
01:07:26St. John's and probably Connecticut to get in.
01:07:30But we'll be talking about that as well tonight on that what we call the Bridge Show.
01:07:37And I'm looking forward to this weekend.
01:07:39And Sunday, we will have a bracket.
01:07:41We'll have Saturday and Sunday.
01:07:43And then Sunday, we'll update it as events warrant if there's a surprise winner in the Atlantic 10 or whatever
01:07:49it might be.
01:07:50Mike, I cannot thank you enough.
01:07:52It's always a pleasure, always very fun.
01:07:54Your insight is unparalleled, man.
01:07:56Again, everybody check out his work throughout the weekend.
01:07:58You have a great day, my friend.
01:07:59Have a great weekend.
01:08:00This is your time of year, man.
01:08:01Have a good one.
01:08:02Oh, Mike.
01:08:03I appreciate it.
01:08:05I'm like Carson.
01:08:07I'm 37 years old.
01:08:08I don't want to watch any more dubstep videos on your phone, okay?
01:08:12Okay.
01:08:12I'm not bad, dude.
01:08:13It's baseball season.
01:08:14Welcome back to Wake Up Barstool.
01:08:16Hey, guys, if you want to send us questions and you want them read on television, like right now.
01:08:19Do it.
01:08:20Do it.
01:08:20Like five minutes.
01:08:21Do it.
01:08:22Use the hashtag AskWub.
01:08:24Do it.
01:08:25You can ask me literally anything you ever want in your entire life.
01:08:29It's true.
01:08:30And I'll answer.
01:08:30It's true.
01:08:31We won't answer anything.
01:08:32Two stories that we haven't gotten to yet today.
01:08:35One that started to break yesterday.
01:08:37Probably the biggest story of the day.
01:08:39Kyler Murray officially signing a one-year deal with the Minnesota Vikings.
01:08:44He's going to be playing with nine.
01:08:44He's going to be playing with nine.
01:08:46Here in-house in the Barstool offices, there's a lot of nine debate that goes on constantly.
01:08:53We had a lot of nine believers.
01:08:55There were a lot of nine doubters.
01:08:57It appears that right now, the doubters have the upper hand as Kyler Murray trying to resurrect
01:09:03his career, do his own Sam Darnold impersonation, joining up with AOC to try to make it happen.
01:09:10Shout out her girl, Ella.
01:09:13Y'all's initial reaction when you saw this?
01:09:15I just don't see him in purple.
01:09:17Yeah, it is weird to see him in purple.
01:09:19He just doesn't strike me as a purple guy.
01:09:20I, um, why not, though?
01:09:23Like, what, I, I know, this is a good sports analysis.
01:09:27It's good sports analysis.
01:09:28It really is.
01:09:29I don't know, dude.
01:09:30I don't know if, I don't know if JJ will learn, like, I'm sure he can learn a lot from
01:09:34Kyler,
01:09:35but I just don't, I just don't.
01:09:36Can you?
01:09:37I don't know.
01:09:37Like, Kyler seems like probably the least likely.
01:09:39But he's a solid veteran.
01:09:41No, but he's the least likely veteran to want to help the young guy.
01:09:44I understand that.
01:09:45There's never been a player who wants to help the other guy less than Kyler Murray.
01:09:48I don't see either of them helping out the Minnesota Vikings.
01:09:51I just don't.
01:09:52I don't, like, for some reason, I still have faith in Kyler Murray.
01:09:57Yeah.
01:09:58Because he did have a few seasons there where it was like, okay, this guy, when he's 100% healthy,
01:10:04I'm sorry, I saw something stuck in my throat.
01:10:06Oh, my God, this is a disaster.
01:10:08All right, here, I'll be like, that's what you like.
01:10:09I had a point there.
01:10:10I had a point there.
01:10:10All right, finish your point.
01:10:13All right, when he's, like, fully healthy and playing to the best of his potential,
01:10:17I don't think he's, I'd say he's, like, a top 15 quarterback, maybe?
01:10:22Easily, easily.
01:10:23Talent-wise, yeah.
01:10:25Like, why not take a chance?
01:10:26Borderline top 10.
01:10:27It's a one-year deal.
01:10:28It's not expensive whatsoever.
01:10:30No.
01:10:30Why not take a shot at a guy that was the number one overall pick and has had success
01:10:34at various points in his career?
01:10:37Ain't he going to have Jay Jettles?
01:10:38Yeah, the Cardinals are able to get, or the Cardinals are basically paying his salary this
01:10:43year, so obviously that's why the Vikings are able to get such a cheap deal.
01:10:46No, Dana, I think you're spot on, man.
01:10:48This makes sense for both parties.
01:10:52I don't think this is the saying, but I'm going to make it up.
01:10:56Desperation makes for strange bedfellows, okay?
01:10:59And right now, both KOC, Kevin O'Connell, the Vikings head coach, and Kyler Murray, they're
01:11:05in desperate times.
01:11:06They are.
01:11:07Kyler Murray watched himself go from a number one overall pick to really exciting in the
01:11:11beginning, like you referenced it completely now, failing and his own franchise benching
01:11:15him last year.
01:11:16Kevin O'Connell, who we all believe to be one of the premier coaches, quarterback whisperer,
01:11:22great offense of mine.
01:11:23Well, they had Sam Darnold.
01:11:25They went 14-3.
01:11:27He chose not to believe in Darnold.
01:11:29They chose to go with J.J.
01:11:31McCarthy.
01:11:31He could not develop J.J.
01:11:33McCarthy into that guy.
01:11:34So, again, both find themselves in desperate career straights.
01:11:38Yep.
01:11:39Because, like, how much more of a leash does O'Connell have?
01:11:42For Murray, is this his last major opportunity like this?
01:11:45So, yeah, I kind of like both of them betting on each other.
01:11:49And it is exciting.
01:11:50It is.
01:11:51Because the talent level of Kyler Murray at every stage that he's played in football
01:11:55and the success smashes J.J.
01:11:58I can see this working out.
01:12:00I can.
01:12:01From the bottom of my heart, I can see this working out as, like, a nice little surprise
01:12:05where he has somewhat of a revival.
01:12:07I have no faith in J.J.
01:12:09McCarthy.
01:12:10No.
01:12:10None.
01:12:11I agree.
01:12:11None in nine.
01:12:12Honestly, you're right.
01:12:13I can't see him in purple, though.
01:12:14That's the only thing.
01:12:15Should McCarthy be the starter?
01:12:17Nine, nine, nine, nine.
01:12:19Wait, can I ask you a question?
01:12:21Yeah.
01:12:21Can you go back to that phrase you said about, what is it, bedfellows?
01:12:24Yeah, desperation makes strange bedfellows.
01:12:26Can you break that down for me?
01:12:27Like they're sleeping together.
01:12:30Necessity is the mother of invention.
01:12:33Oh, okay.
01:12:33Or innovation can be.
01:12:36I can't remember what makes for strange bedfellows.
01:12:39Something does.
01:12:40But in this case, it's desperation.
01:12:42Shout out bedfellows.
01:12:43Yeah, shout out bedfellows.
01:12:43Yeah, shout out bedfellows.
01:12:44Yeah, shout out.
01:12:44You guys were bedfellows before you broke up with them.
01:12:46But, like, y'all were at one point.
01:12:48Y'all were going to be balcony bedfellows.
01:12:52But now, that seems like, now it's under risk.
01:12:57T-Bob?
01:12:58How about you invite me to something, and I'll stop.
01:13:00How about that?
01:13:01You were invited every time.
01:13:03No, I know.
01:13:04You have to need a Christmas party.
01:13:06You're right.
01:13:06You're right.
01:13:07I know.
01:13:07You have 15 annual birthday parties on a weekend.
01:13:10I know.
01:13:11Eventually, you have to go to something.
01:13:12You've got a knee doe on Sundays.
01:13:13Okay, then I just need y'all.
01:13:14I just need y'all.
01:13:15I just need y'all.
01:13:16You hang out with us soon?
01:13:17I just need y'all then to make.
01:13:20Okay, as long as I know that I have a standing invite.
01:13:23Because I know when you keep getting invited, and you keep saying, no, I can't go, that
01:13:26eventually you stop getting invited.
01:13:27But you haven't.
01:13:28I just need to have a standing invite for when I get invited.
01:13:31Okay, okay.
01:13:31You can show up whenever.
01:13:33Why is Kiddick so on edge today?
01:13:35Because I'm very stressed out about this weekend.
01:13:37I got a lot of people coming in.
01:13:38I got friends staying at my place.
01:13:40I had to deep clean my house, do a bunch of laundry.
01:13:43I got people.
01:13:44I got to make reservations.
01:13:46I'm the guy that has to make the plans.
01:13:49But it seems never to be good enough for people, you know?
01:13:52I have a lot of people coming in, and they're like, oh, I don't want to go there.
01:13:55I'm like, why don't we just go to a pub and drink beers and listen to 80s rock?
01:13:59And it's never good enough for some people, you know?
01:14:02So it's a very stressful time.
01:14:04But I'm excited to be with my boys on this beautiful Friday morning.
01:14:07And I'm going to have a lot of beers this weekend, a lot of green beers.
01:14:10Bring back beers.
01:14:11Bring back so many beers.
01:14:13Sorry.
01:14:13So sorry I'm a little on edge today.
01:14:14I know we started off on the wrong foot for the show, but we ended out well.
01:14:19We got to land it well here.
01:14:22Yeah, I mean, so not the worst thing, though.
01:14:24Having people in town is kind of a lot, but...
01:14:27It's a lot of pressure.
01:14:28It is a lot of pressure, but I bet your house feels great right now.
01:14:32It does.
01:14:32It forces you to do a lot of stuff that you normally just don't do.
01:14:34It's very productive.
01:14:35You normally put off.
01:14:36Atta boy.
01:14:36Deep clean everything.
01:14:38Toilets, sinks.
01:14:39Toilets!
01:14:40Shower.
01:14:40Oh, look at you, dude.
01:14:42My room is spotless.
01:14:43My living room looks great.
01:14:45Broom?
01:14:46My room?
01:14:47I thought you said broom.
01:14:47Also, PSA, ladies, if you would like to get a tour, potentially, of Michael's Clean House,
01:14:54he prefers that instead of you walking up to him and speaking about horoscopes and Zorstrim.
01:15:02Moon signs?
01:15:02Yeah, moon signs.
01:15:03Just bark at him.
01:15:04Just bark at me.
01:15:04Just go up and give him a little...
01:15:07That's the best way to get his attention.
01:15:08All right.
01:15:09What's our next Ask Wub here?
01:15:13Ask Ask Wub.
01:15:14How do you guys feel about Ciccato skin?
01:15:15Oh, so good.
01:15:16Used to be an elite advertiser.
01:15:17What do you mean used to?
01:15:18Still is.
01:15:19Still is, but you just don't see him that often.
01:15:20You get a good one, man, don't think so.
01:15:22You don't see him that often on menus.
01:15:23They can go south fast.
01:15:25They can't if the peel is too hard.
01:15:29Yeah, it can.
01:15:30It can.
01:15:31There's a great potato skin is great, but I've had a lot of like meh potato skins.
01:15:37Here's an interior Ask Wub question.
01:15:39Yeah.
01:15:40Are you guys huge condiment people?
01:15:43Yeah, absolutely.
01:15:43Because I am huge in a...
01:15:45Yeah, we love sauces.
01:15:46Yeah, we love sauces.
01:15:47I need it to be sauces.
01:15:48Of course.
01:15:49There are some people that just like eat burger with no condiments on it.
01:15:53I'm like, what are you doing?
01:15:54If I have a bottle of Chick-fil-A sauce in my house, I'm basically putting that on anything
01:15:57that goes in my house.
01:15:58I can't eat anything with some sort of vessel.
01:16:00That Japanese barbecue sauce goes on everything.
01:16:03Yep.
01:16:04Absolutely everything.
01:16:05I'm glad.
01:16:05Yeah, potato skins are awesome.
01:16:07Great.
01:16:07Ask Wub, is a boneless wing really a wing?
01:16:09Or, I mean, in my opinion, no.
01:16:11No.
01:16:11And I know this is like kind of a tired internet conversation.
01:16:14It's a nugget.
01:16:15It's a chicken nugget.
01:16:16Which is fine, though.
01:16:17Which is fine.
01:16:18Like, nuggets are good.
01:16:19No one...
01:16:19Which is not a wing.
01:16:20When you think of a wing and you picture a wing in your mind, no one pictures a boneless
01:16:24wing.
01:16:25No.
01:16:25You picture a flatterer.
01:16:26I just...
01:16:27Again, the only thing that makes me sad about going boneless is like, I love gnawing on the
01:16:32bones.
01:16:33You clean them off and then you just start...
01:16:34And another thing about bone-in wings is that you take your time and you really treasure...
01:16:39You really treasure this beautiful piece of meat in front of you.
01:16:43And you're viscerally in there with your hands, you know, in it.
01:16:48Dana Beers.
01:16:49There you go.
01:16:49What's the keys to winning today's Yugg Off?
01:16:51And do you really even like that baseball line that much?
01:16:56Whoa, whoa.
01:16:56I do like that.
01:16:57Cracks, Mosby.
01:16:58I think, no, I think yesterday's show, because I watched it yesterday, I think clearly it
01:17:03proved that you think the homebite three guys are better at that's baseball.
01:17:06I think they're very funny and they market it very well.
01:17:10However, I will stick to my guns that they got it from me and I got it from Charlie Kelly.
01:17:15Today's keys to winning?
01:17:17You know, I had a couple...
01:17:20I had to lube up the throat a little bit yesterday.
01:17:22You know, did a couple of...
01:17:24What do they call it?
01:17:25Little...
01:17:26Warm-ups?
01:17:26Like put a donut on the bat, you know?
01:17:28Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:17:29A couple of heavy strings.
01:17:30Great analogy.
01:17:31Great analogy.
01:17:32Great analogy.
01:17:32Yeah, I had a deck circle.
01:17:33I had a couple of bruce views.
01:17:34Warm up the arm a little bit.
01:17:35So I think, yeah, you know, you get the arm going and the bullpen a little bit and you
01:17:39head in there and you go in and you go sub five.
01:17:41If I go sub five twice, done.
01:17:44So help me out here.
01:17:46So is the equivalent of doing a donut on the bat, are you going to go with like an IPA
01:17:50or like a Guinness?
01:17:51Heavens, no.
01:17:51No, no, I'm saying because...
01:17:53No, because in warm-ups you drink that and then you get to the light beer and you're like,
01:17:57oh, dude.
01:17:57But then it's a different thing.
01:18:00Then it's a different thing.
01:18:01IPAs make my stomach a block, dude.
01:18:03I don't know.
01:18:04Yeah, just sub five.
01:18:06That's what cheese does.
01:18:07Scoring's a little weird in the Yago-Matic, though.
01:18:09The what?
01:18:10The machine.
01:18:11How cool is that machine?
01:18:12The Yago-Matic's sick.
01:18:13I don't really understand it, but I love it.
01:18:15If Barstool Greg loses, whatever.
01:18:18I just have to win twice and we go on to game three.
01:18:22And he will not be taking Greg to Arizona.
01:18:23Big Cat doesn't switch sides.
01:18:25That's for damn sure.
01:18:25That will be a...
01:18:26That's for damn sure.
01:18:27I don't think you're getting the invite either.
01:18:28I'm bringing Patek for a sweep.
01:18:30Stooley Clubhouse, why is Bosco the way that he is?
01:18:33All right, Neil.
01:18:34You know, I know, Neil, we've...
01:18:37I'm not going to get into this, okay?
01:18:40Stooley Clubhouse.
01:18:41Bosco, we love him.
01:18:43Yeah, I love Bosco.
01:18:43And you guys have a rivalry.
01:18:45I'm not getting involved in that.
01:18:47He did say D up last night when we had the over in the first three seconds.
01:18:52Okay.
01:18:52I will say this about Rico.
01:18:54Rico has been...
01:18:55A cave bet.
01:18:55I started here last March.
01:18:58Rico has been nothing.
01:18:59Yes, he's blown up at me once or twice, but he's been nothing but great to me.
01:19:05And I'm sorry that you don't have that same experience.
01:19:07That must suck, but he is great to the people he likes.
01:19:10I agree.
01:19:11I agree.
01:19:12Rico's always been very kind to me and very welcoming to me as a new guy.
01:19:16Shout out, Rico Bosco.
01:19:19Ask Wub, what seed would this Auburn team be with Bruce Pearl as head coach?
01:19:23Well, they probably have a way better record.
01:19:24Not way better.
01:19:24They'd have a better record.
01:19:25Have y'all seen...
01:19:26Guys, production, I'm sorry to do this live.
01:19:28Do we have the Steven Pearl pregame sound?
01:19:32Have y'all seen this?
01:19:33Oh, we still don't have it.
01:19:34Okay.
01:19:34I would say that...
01:19:35It's the least inspiring thing I've ever seen in my entire life.
01:19:37He's talking about, like, strength of schedule and shit.
01:19:39In the pregame.
01:19:41It's shit.
01:19:41In the pregame.
01:19:42It's a walker room.
01:19:43Bro, it's bad.
01:19:44I'll show you how to do it.
01:19:44In the walker room?
01:19:45Yes, I'll show you.
01:19:45Before they go out on the court?
01:19:46Yes.
01:19:47It is like...
01:19:48Wow.
01:19:48Y'all beat the...
01:19:49Y'all the best win in the country.
01:19:51Y'all beat Florida on the road.
01:19:52It's...
01:19:53It's disgusting.
01:19:53I want someone to walk in and say, we're going to rip, gouge their eyes out and dribble
01:19:58their eyes on the court and donk them and rub our nuts on their chins.
01:20:03Yeah.
01:20:04That's what I want someone to say.
01:20:05My favorite was always...
01:20:07Come on, dude.
01:20:07I mean, give me something to...
01:20:09Like, make him beg you to stop hitting him and then hit him again.
01:20:14That was close.
01:20:14I think the answer here is they'd probably be...
01:20:16Make him taste their blood.
01:20:17Three wins better.
01:20:18So, yeah, they'd probably be in the tournament.
01:20:20Like, as an 11, 10 or 11.
01:20:23Wake up.
01:20:24Who thought it was going to be a potato beer to Michael Koenig on TV?
01:20:27I asked myself that every Friday morning.
01:20:29That would be our boss, Big Cat.
01:20:31Yeah, I asked myself that every Friday morning.
01:20:33I said, how do we let these guys on live television?
01:20:37Oh, thank you, Big Cat.
01:20:37Oh, I love it.
01:20:38We miss Megan.
01:20:40Hopefully, she'll be back pretty soon here because, like, she...
01:20:43It gets...
01:20:44She's kind of like...
01:20:45There's a lot of testosterone.
01:20:46She's a mediator.
01:20:47Yeah, see, somehow it kind of keeps everybody in line,
01:20:49and we're excited to have her back on the panel here.
01:20:52We love you guys so much.
01:20:54Guys, St. Paddy's Day.
01:20:56Have a great...
01:20:56Around the corner.
01:20:57Safe.
01:20:58Be safe.
01:20:59If you're in Chicago, be safe.
01:21:00It gets pretty crazy.
01:21:02Have the best time ever, wherever you're celebrating.
01:21:05Drink a lot of beers.
01:21:06Bring beers back.
01:21:07Responsibly.
01:21:08Bring back beers.
01:21:09No, bring beers back, right?
01:21:11Bring back beers.
01:21:11Responsibly.
01:21:11Oh, God.
01:21:12I can't remember ever.
01:21:13But, yes, have a blast.
01:21:14We love you all.
01:21:15You know what's sick, Dana?
01:21:16So, me and my wife actually already have the babysitter lined up.
01:21:19We're going to be out and about for St. Paddy's Day.
01:21:21Oh, really?
01:21:21Do you know of any of our friends would be maybe having a party or something?
01:21:25Like a house party?
01:21:25Like a sick...
01:21:26I'm picking up my dog tomorrow, so I'm kind of on the outs of parties.
01:21:29Is there like...
01:21:30Do you know anybody...
01:21:31Oh, oh.
01:21:32Oh, I know what you're saying.
01:21:34Because I think like a private event would probably be like the best way to go because
01:21:38you have like a bathroom and everything.
01:21:39If only like...
01:21:39Yeah.
01:21:40If only there was somebody...
01:21:41This was a ticketed thing months ago.
01:21:43We will link up.
01:21:44Oh, okay.
01:21:45I promise you that.
01:21:46Oh, Kadex having a...
01:21:47That's right.
01:21:47Kadex having a party.
01:21:49Not having like a house party.
01:21:50Very interesting.
01:21:51You should talk to Ella, too.
01:21:53Very...
01:21:54Oh, she's on the list.
01:21:55She's on the list.
01:21:56Make no mistake.
01:21:58Little pixie.
01:21:59Little minx.
01:22:01I'm just kidding, guys.
01:22:02Hey, seriously, we love you.
01:22:03Everybody have a great weekend.
01:22:04I love these boys right here.
01:22:06Not Carson.
01:22:07But the other two, yes.
01:22:08But not Carson.
