00:02Police have said a man went missing at around 1am this morning in Bundaberg.
00:06They said he went off a houseboat into the Burnett River where the boat was located near Burnett Heads,
00:13which is the mouth of the river here in Bundaberg.
00:16The man hasn't been seen since and a search is underway and police are asking anyone with any further information
00:22to contact them.
00:23So certainly of course a concerning development and a sign that this disaster is by no means over.
00:31Flood waters had gone into people's homes and businesses.
00:35Some people we spoke to said it was inches of water, others said it was more than a foot.
00:41People said that they'd been given sufficient notice about the fact that it was going to be a similar flood
00:47to one that hit this town in 2010.
00:51Those people who could remember the height of the flood waters at that time moved their possessions and their stock
00:58up above that height
00:59and thus were able to save those possessions.
01:03However, regardless, after the flood water receded, it left behind inches of mud and sediment in people's homes and businesses.
01:12So locals we spoke to said they'd been out from first light yesterday hosing down that mud and sweeping it
01:19out.
01:19Some people said it might be months before they can return to their homes and others said it might be
01:24just a couple of days.
01:26But the clean up effort is well and truly underway.
01:29But system travel methods should be open again rich and more.
