00:00I thought that the Angus feeders skiers to go to feedlots were all a little bit dearer.
00:04Most of them all making sort of from $4.80 to $5.20 a kilo,
00:08with most of our local feedlotters present and active.
00:14Then as the weight sort of dropped off, the cents per kilo kicked up a little bit
00:17and there was a couple of noted runs of cattle here today
00:21that some little black steers making well over $6.00 a kilo, up into $6.20, $6.30.
00:26Mark for some steers and then your 300 to 400 kilo steers,
00:31they were all making from $5.00 to $5.60 and $7.00.
00:41And then your similar weighted Hereford steers were all making from $4.60 to $5.20 and $3.00
00:51for your noted runs of cattle.
00:53And then the heifer job was very, very strong as well.
00:55You know, most of your black heifers are all making $4.60 to $5.00 a kilo
01:00and then your Hereford heifers sort of $4.30 to $4.60.
01:07So I thought overall it was a very strong sale.
01:11Most of the cattle all stayed local.
01:14So mostly local competition or southwestern Victorian competition.
01:19There was one buyer from Port Augusta who, I'm not sure exactly how many he got,
01:25but he would have got a good load or two.
01:27So probably the furthest away that the cattle travelled today.
01:31But yeah, most of them all stayed pretty local.
01:33And what sort of facts do you think drove today's prices?
01:36So I think, you know, with some big rains through the north, you know, once that sort of dries up
01:43a bit,
01:43I think we're thinking that, you know, there'll be a fair few northern buyers that are going to be quite
01:49strong
01:49because in the latter part of this week you saw a lot of the northern prices have kicked as well
01:54already on the back of that rain.
01:58So I think, yeah, it's just people wanting to get a few numbers now.
02:01And plus we're getting into how better, you know, we had, most people would have had from 20 to 40
02:08mils of rain about 10 days ago.
02:10We had a little rain the other day.
02:12So there is a little bit of grass down here locally.
02:14Yeah, so just people, you know, just chasing a few numbers and securing a few numbers before it gets too
02:19close to winter.
