00:00Ciao. Ciao. Ciao. This is my partner, yeah. So, she's in Rome. I love Rome. We love Rome.
00:20The Walking Dead is almost the prophet of this generation because the show told us 12 years ago
00:29that the virus is among us. The show teach us that when there's a pandemic, we can help each other.
00:38So, I'm asking why we haven't learned anything from this TV show.
00:43This is so... I love that you're making this parallel. Well, you know what's interesting?
00:50I think in this TV show, what it comes down to is protecting the people you love, right?
00:56Especially if we're talking about Leah and Daryl and that relationship and why it sort of falls apart.
01:03And it's... I guess with this pandemic, that's not actually what's happening, is it?
01:08Because this pandemic has split families, broken friendships, broken relationships.
01:13So, you're right. I don't think we've learned from the show because there's...
01:19It's almost like the opposite of... We're doing the opposite of what the cast of...
01:24You know, the characters in The Walking Dead do.
01:27Yeah. That makes me think a lot.
01:31Good question.
01:33That's a good one, yeah.
01:35I mean, I think we have so much to learn from this show about how to treat each other.
01:40Like you said, Valentina, how to help each other.
01:44And instead of choosing different sides, how to actually support each other so we can actually survive through this.
01:51And I think the show is a great example of that.
01:54We see when these people separate, how much weaker they are because of the, you know, the zombies.
02:03If we say the zombies is the current virus that we're fighting through, together we can fight it better than
02:10if we were apart, I believe.
02:12Yeah, I completely agree.
02:13And I think what, like, what Pala's touching upon there is, like, community.
02:18And the thing that we miss the most, probably, I guess, the most in, like, 2020, was just, like, not
02:24being able to see each other, not being able to be with each other, like, being separated.
02:30And that felt, all of a sudden, like, the most basic, like, primal necessity that we have as human beings
02:37was taken away from us.
02:39And really, The Walking Dead is about that.
02:41It's about community.
02:42It's about who you connect with and who you fight for.
02:46And I think, like, wow, if only people, I think people have forgotten already really quickly, like, how much we
02:52actually need each other.
02:53So, yeah, I would say, I would say we still have a lot to learn.
02:56And this show could definitely teach people a thing or two about that.
03:02Well, I will say, I think that we did learn something, I mean, from The Walking Dead.
03:08But, I mean, I think there's one of those things that The Walking Dead actually focused on and spotlights continuously
03:13is the human ability to adapt, just to survive.
03:17And I think that's exactly what we are doing right now.
03:20The very first year, the very, you know, the first time that we learned about the pandemic, we had to
03:26go on the lockdown.
03:27We had no idea what to do, you know, we were lost, we were overwhelmed.
03:31But, yeah, we were still bummed, of course, that we had to go through it.
03:34You know, we're in year three now.
03:36But we've adjusted, clearly.
03:39I mean, we're still running.
03:41We're still making the show.
03:42And I think, you know, things happen and you have to try to adapt and move on.
03:46And I think that's kind of a beautiful thing about The Walking Dead.
03:50In these new episodes, Daryl says, he asks himself, choices, do they even matter anymore?
03:59Do you agree with him?
04:00Or even in desperate situations, choices do matter?
04:05I think choices definitely do matter.
04:08And I think he's just voicing his frustration because, as we've seen throughout all these seasons, we've tackled every imaginable
04:17threat.
04:18We've gone against so many different communities of people that we thought were our friends, who ended up being enemies.
04:24We've faced people that were obviously enemies from the beginning and just unspeakably insane people in the whispers.
04:33genuinely disturbed people who have, you know, married themselves to an animalistic approach to living.
04:39So I think for him, he's just at this place where the frustration and the sadness of it all, the
04:46loss of it all is catching up to him.
04:48And he's wondering if we can still be good people with everything that's happened.
04:53And I'd like to think, and I think on Daryl's best day, he would probably agree that there's always a
05:02chance for retribution.
05:03There's always a chance for forgiveness.
05:04There's always a chance to grow and evolve and be a good human.
05:08You just have to hold yourself accountable and make sure that your choices are the best ones for you and
05:14for your community.
05:15It's not necessarily about the choices that we make, but it's about how we respond to those choices is what
05:21matters the most.
05:23Because whatever we actually, when we make a choice, we never ever know if it's the right choice or the
05:29wrong choice.
05:30But it's all based on how we actually move forward.
05:33And I feel like in this season, we, you know, it's all about how we actually respond to new choices
05:43that are actually coming our way.
05:44You know, and we're there and we have a completely different set of decisions that we have to make.
05:49In the end, it's all about how we react.
05:52Stiamo per ricostruire il mondo.
05:55The Walking Dead, la stagione finale continua.
05:59Disponibile in esclusiva dal 21 febbraio su Disney+.
