Intervista a James Mcavoy su Glass
Trascrizione
00:04Sì, sei la mia ultima, ma non l'ultima, sicuramente.
00:09Non lo so, magari.
00:10No.
00:11Siamo pronti, grazie.
00:13Ok.
00:32So, first of all, who are you right now?
00:36I'm James McAvoy.
00:37Are you sure?
00:38No.
00:40Ok.
00:41One thing that is really important for superheroes and villains is their costume.
00:48And you...
00:48But, yeah, I don't have one.
00:50No, you have one.
00:51You are a superhero slash villain with a jumpsuit.
00:55So, are you glad about your costume?
00:56No, I mean, I'm actually not a fan of the colour yellow on me.
01:01I like it on other people, but not on me.
01:03I find it makes me look slightly sick.
01:06Like, unwell, like I look a bit queasy.
01:08Anyway, Knight was determined to get me into yellow.
01:11He tried to get me into yellow and split.
01:12He actually painted me yellow at one point.
01:14We covered myself in paint.
01:16And it was like, why have I done this?
01:18So we cut that.
01:20So he finally got me in yellow in glass.
01:22I basically run around in yellow pyjamas.
01:25And then run around with my shirt off for most of the movie.
01:29So, yeah, it's a different kind of superhero movie.
01:32There's no superhero costumes.
01:33Although Mr. Glass has got a bit of a panache going on towards the end.
01:37At least you are comfy.
01:38I was very comfy.
01:39Yeah.
01:40I was freezing is what I was.
01:41I was really, really cold.
01:45And we see, I think that it's not a spoiler, we see a new personality in this movie.
01:51Yeah, we see, we see...
01:52Which is the Japanese cinema professor.
01:55Yeah.
01:56Why did you...
01:57It was a knight's choice, your choice, Japanese...
02:01It's very specific, Japanese cinema professor.
02:03A professor of Japanese cinema, yeah.
02:05Yeah.
02:05That was knight's choice.
02:06I think just because knight loves Japanese cinema.
02:08So, but I quite...
02:11When I thought it was a slightly snobbish, kind of snooty kind of thing that he put in the movie.
02:25Because, you know, it's like people are like, oh, yeah, I really like Japanese cinema,
02:28specifically from the 50s through the 60s.
02:30You're like, oh, yeah, good for you, but like wearing it like a badge, man.
02:35So, I thought I'd make him a snob, I thought I'd make him a bit of a prig.
02:39One thing that I think this movie teaches us is that no matter what other people want us to believe,
02:45we have to truly believe in ourselves.
02:47Yeah.
02:47But it's really difficult, so how can we do it?
02:53Well, seeing as I am a self-help guru, I've got no idea.
02:59I've got no idea.
03:00But I do think that rather than the film saying we have to believe in ourselves,
03:04I think the film is also saying the reasons why it's hard to believe in ourselves
03:07is because society is possibly constructed and structured in such a way
03:13as to keep our feeling of empowerment and power down.
03:21Because we're easier to control and we're easier to just kind of move around
03:24and make us work like worker bees, I guess.
03:26but I suppose the film is saying that we are all capable of changing the world
03:31and potentially harnessing our own power for, I don't know, the betterment of everything around us.
03:37but we have to see past what society informs us of ourselves, which is that we are less than, you
03:43know.
03:45Or maybe not society, but the kind of structures of government and control, you know.
03:49You know, it's a little bit anti-establishment, it's a little bit conspiracy theory-ish.
03:54But it's a fun message as well.
03:58Another thing that this movie teaches us is that the world is an harsh judge
04:01and we tend to underestimate other people, in this case the supervillain.
04:06We underestimate comics, movies, people say, it's just a movie, it's just a comic.
04:10Why in your opinion is that?
04:12Why we underestimate things and people?
04:14Why do we underestimate... oh, God.
04:17I've got no idea, I've got no idea why we do that, that's a big question, for a Wednesday morning.
04:26I don't know, mate, I don't know.
04:28We are in the universe, so...
04:29We are.
04:30It's good, okay.
04:30Cool, thanks a million, cheers.
04:47Cool, thanks a lot.
