00:02I can honestly say, I think my character is the single reason for the women's rights movement in this country.
00:09My character is the most disgusting, sexually selfish guy I've seen in a film in a long, long time.
00:19It's changed my life, actually, in a way.
00:21I leave here now, I call every woman ma'am, I open doors for them, I put my coat over
00:28the puddle for them.
00:32He teaches women's studies at a women's college, but at the same time, he's trying to scam all of the
00:38women in the classroom and outside of the classroom.
00:40He's a sex-crazed maniac, masquerading as a college professor.
00:48But Dane is someone who I always liked him in the HBO specials that I saw, when I saw him
00:55on SNL, and in the films I've seen him in.
00:58But, you know, when I met him, and I've worked with him, I really wasn't prepared for how much I
01:04would like him.
01:05He is the greatest guy. He's one of the sweetest guys I've ever worked with.
01:09And he reminds me of Jimmy Fallon, in a way, because there aren't a lot of guys who are comics.
01:14I think that audiences really want to see them kiss the girl, that he could maybe go on both sides
01:19of the line and play a leading man.
01:21And I think that there's a lot of movies that Dane could do, you know, action films and dramas.
01:27He's a very intense guy. He's very talented.
01:30And it's really been such a pleasure to work with him.
01:35But another reason that I wanted to do this, oddly enough, was to work with Howie Deutsch.
01:42Because I've known Howie in the business for years.
01:46I mean, he and I have run into each other, and his wife, Leah Thompson, I've known for a long,
01:50long time.
01:51And I never had a chance to work with him.
01:53I've loved Howie's movies back in the day when he was doing all the John Hughes pictures.
01:58And when they called me, when Howie called me and said, would you come and do this?
02:02I thought, yeah, I mean, it's the people you work with for me now.
02:05I really want to work with people I like.
02:07And I'm glad I did. Shooting with Howie has been great.
02:13The script is by Jordan Cahan.
02:15And he was very kind in letting us change things and improvise things.
02:22And Dane and I and Jason Biggs and all the people I had scenes with, we improvised a lot.
02:26and tried different things and alternate takes so we could make the ideas behind what Turner was suggesting
02:37perverse and disgusting, but maybe not use perverse, disgusting words to express those things.
02:43Because in some drafts, Turner, who was a college professor, spoke in a very, very harsh way about women.
02:49So we decided to kind of put a little glaze of sugar on top of that.
02:54And underneath that glaze of sugar is all the perversion you could possibly imagine.
03:01of a numeric system from one to ten was too limiting.
03:04So he developed an alphabetical system from A to Z, A being the highest mark.
03:09So you could literally have 26 designations of women and what they look like.
03:13And so, yeah, he has an alphabet system for women.
03:16We have a scene in the film where he employs that system with his son, with Dane,
03:21and then later on with Jason Biggs.
