00:01People will hire him, Tank, to come in, if they've screwed up with their girlfriends and been broken up with,
00:08a guy will call my character and say, you know, I've really gone off the deep end and done something
00:15that there's no turning back, and I'm the guy who turns things back.
00:20I take your girl out on a date, get to know her, and then I basically destroy her entire world
00:26on these dates, causing her to run back to your arms, feeling that things weren't so bad on the home
00:34front once I've been with a guy like this.
00:39Dustin is dating Kate Hudson's character, Alexis, and he finally just comes to me one day and says, you know,
00:45Tank, you know, this girl, she's, you know, she's kind of calling it off with me, she's backpedaling, what do
00:51I do, and Tank, Tank, you know, tries to give him a few suggestions, and when Dustin finally says, what
00:56about you, will you come in and can I hire you, at first Tank's like, no, no, I don't mess
01:02with family, you know, you don't want to cross that line.
01:04It's like selling your sibling a car and it's a lemon. You're never going to hear the end of it,
01:10you know, that's just the worst possible sale, but because he loves Dustin and because he wants to see Dustin
01:17happy, he takes on this tanking.
01:23One thing that you're always just, you know, craving when you're in a scene with another actor is somebody who
01:30really listens, and there's nobody better than Kate Hudson.
01:34I mean, she is right there. Nothing gets past her. So volleying with Kate in some of these scenes, when
01:42they finally say, you know, one more, giving you another take, it's like, oh, yes, you know, what can I
01:47throw at her?
01:47Or how can I challenge her this time? That guy inspires me to come in. He's got ideas, I've got
01:57ideas, and when we get together, you know, even people on the set say, you know, you really feel like
02:02there's a connection between these two.
02:06And I was just, you know, saying to him a little bit ago, today's his last day, and I said,
02:09I'm really going to miss you, but this character that he's, you know, I've watched him create and build upon
02:16over the matter of, you know, weeks that we've had him here.
02:19So Alec Baldwin is one of the best, and certainly look forward to seeing the reaction from people when they
02:27see this movie.
02:31The director on our film is a man by the name of Howie Deutsch, and HD is bringing, well, I
02:38mean, he's got a repertoire.
02:41He has experience with some of the greats in comedy. I mean, I could go on all day about who
02:47he's worked with, but, you know, he worked with Jack Lemmon, who is just a hero of mine.
02:52Walter Matthau, obviously, as well. And so he knows comedy. He knows comedy, but, again, looking at somebody like a
03:01Jack Lemmon, he brings depth into his directing.
03:05You know, when we talk about some of these scenes where we're saying, how can we keep it grounded and
03:09yet still have some fantastical moments, but always in a place that's believable?
03:19Nobody's seen Alec Baldwin with this kind of R-rated, in-your-face behavior.
03:26Nobody's seen Jason Biggs toughen up like this.
03:29You know, he's kind of known as playing a guy that's always maybe a little bit, you know, trepidatious or
03:36laid back.
03:37You see him kind of come out of that shell.
03:39Kate Hudson, you're seeing her do these scenes.
03:42There's a scene in the strip club that I think is just one of the funniest scenes that I've, you
03:47know, witnessed somebody, you know, performing.
03:50And then, of course, for myself, playing a guy who is really a jerk at the outset and then has
03:57his growth.
03:58So I think it's going to be fun for audiences to sit and watch us play this game of chess
04:04and figure out how we can all kind of exist on that board.
04:09Returning to Boston to film this movie is, to say it's a feather in my cap would be an understatement.
04:17I've wanted to come back to Boston and work for quite some time.
04:21I always thought it would be really fantastic to do a movie here.
04:24This is my first film that my company is producing and to be able to work with the cast and
04:30crew that I'm working with is, it's, I'm waiting to wake up.
04:36It's almost like any minute now I'm going to wake up and hopefully not be back in 10th grade, still
04:41daydreaming in Mr. Russell's history class.
