00:00The Philippines is aiming to finalize a free trade agreement or FTA negotiation with the European Union, Canada and Chile

00:08This according to Trade Secretary Maria Cristina Roque.

00:11Roque said during the ASEAN Business Environment Forum, the agreements are part of the Marcus Jr. administration's target to secure

00:19around 20 FTAs by 2028.

00:21The talks with the European Union and Canada are targeted for conclusion by June or July, with a signing slated

00:28for 2027.

00:30While the FTA signing with Chile is expected this year, Roque highlighted that these FTAs are a competitive edge for

00:37Filipino businesses,

00:38noting that over 70% of the country's exports already reach partner markets through existing agreements.
